A place where you can take a good look of Mt Mayon and an overview look of the city.

Awwwww, my pics taken from this spot isn't that nice because Mt. Mayon was hiding behind a wall of clouds that day... But this is a great place to get a 360 degree view of Legazpi City...

Our driver took us to the top of the hill, telling us that this place is a favorite jogging spot of the locals... Early in the morning, the cars and vans aren't allowed to go in to give way for the joggers... Glad that the local government decided to do that so that everyone can enjoy this place...

Near the entrance of the park, you will see the sign of PHILVOLCS, as this is where their observatory is... As it's pretty close to Mt. Mayon, they are able to detect seismic activity and give timely warnings to the residents... Though our driver claims that the residents are pretty adept at detecting differences in Mayon's activity. They know kung iba ang timpla, according to Kuya.

On the way to the top, you will pass by tunnels that the Japanese used as an arms cache during the war... You can opt to go on a tour of the tunnels, but having seen my fair share of the like combined with the humidity, we passed on that experience... Btw, there are parts wherein you apparently have to crawl, so wear pants!

The view deck on top is well maintained with scopes all around for a better view... You see Mayon, the Albay Gulf, the surrounding islands, the nearby airport, and of course, the city... Beautiful! We got there mid-day and apparently the best time to go is ealry morning during sunrise... Mt Mayon can then be seen in all its beauty... Sunset is another great time to go, when the city lights and the cool breeze make it a romantic spot... Be sure to include this in your visit!

They serve food on the hilltop and you can also look at pasalubong... But let me tell you, the prices at the market and the tourist spots/airport aren't too far from each other... So if you aren't going to buy a lot or are not good at haggling, don't make the trip to the market anymore... But pass by Albay Pili Nut for pili!!!100841008410084

Other than the view, there are lots of activities this popular tourist spot offers... You can rent bikes to go up the hill, which seems like a fun way to spend a day at this place... They also have a zipline and a kapit-tuko trail, which was closed during our visit...

Joggers get in for free, students and residents are charged P10 to go to the top, and non-residents are charged P20... Not too sure about the rates for the various activities though... Nice place to visit overall!

me and the boyps visited Ligñon hill last week on a Saturday morning. We paid an entrance fee of P20 per person at the base of the hill.

There were a bunch of people already in the area. A few cars were parked near the observatory.

It was a bit rainy so we had to wait for the clouds to clear up to get a good view of Mt Mayon. But really even in a good sunny day, clouds really love to mess the Mt Mayon view.

This is also a good vantage point in getting a better Legazpi city view.

I did not try the zip line nor the paint ball. But people who tried the zipline that time really enjoyed it coz their were smiling after.

warning to those who wants to hike from the base to the observatory. it's challenging. we tried to go down the paintball area from the top. we were already halfway but decided to go up coz it's steep. had a hard time going up. haha.

view is great here. great for tourists.

You can spot the Mayon Volcano anywhere around Legazpi. But the best viewpoint to appreciate its entirety is at the Lignon Hill.

Worth the 15-25mins (or more) the hike. 128077

At the beginning, I feel super energetic and then slowly getting tired. I never expect this to be a verrrrryyy long walk. Its like a never ending road. I even asked someone walking down "ate malayo pa ba" and then she replied wala ka pa sa kalahati hahaha. 128557

But still worth it. The road is well maintained, trees on the side, generally clean and peaceful. As we went up. We become more excited because its giving us a better view of legazpi city. And aside from cagsawa ruins. This is another place to have a great view of mayon. The only activity that time is a short zip line. There are souvenir shops available in this area but generally this place could be better. It is given that the place have a great view of mayon but once you get on top there is nothing to do or to stay. They should add restaurants, coffee shops and other fun activities. Sayang 128528

When we we went down of-course we rode a tricycle for 20php hahaha! No to another long walk. We will be dead.

Other than Cagsawa Ruins, another best place to VISUALLY enjoy the beauty of Mayon Volcano is Ligñon Hill. On top of that, it's the perfect spot to take a good panoramic shot of the city.

People have the option to either hike all the way to the top or drive. Haha I opted to drive because I was so tired because I have been out all day seeing nature. Ligñon hill also offer some outdoor activites: zipline and canopy walk.
