The lugaw, asado mami, and the chicken tocino rice. Their
Food is not overly seasoned, which is good.

Before there was Chowing, there was Ling Nam.
This was one of my favorite fastfood next to Jollibee when I was a kid. They used to have a branch in Shoppesville back in the 80s then closed down. After a couple of years, resurfaced to where it is now.

My favorite then and still are Beef Wanton Noodles and plain Wanton Noodle Soup.

Havent tried any other item except these 2. Their congee looks good though, will try when I get the chance.

I always judge a Chinese Tea House by its hakaw. And Ling Nam's hakaw (P135) hits the spot. The shrimp is wonderfully sweet and tasty, with the perfect translucent wrap.

Their Yang Chow is also traditionally yummy as well as the Chinese fried chicken.

All in all, I enjoyed our dinner here, perfect after a tiring afternoon of shopping. The place itself can improve, as it looks messy and cramped. :)

From the moms friend still when she visited ....

This is my first time to taste a chicken asado noodles and surprisingly, it tasted more on the sweet side maybe because of the asado sauce. It complements the chicken and scrumptious chicken broth perfectly. the nice chewy texture of the noodles and the wantons are more lumpy not the bouncy plump exploding texture that I like but still delicious and refreshing as well.

Had dinner. Noodles were exceptionally yummy esp when you put their hot sauce!

We loved the fish fillet tofu and beef brocolli.

Their rest room is not that clean though. Service is a little so-so.

I came for the nostalgia. This was one of the places dad and I would go to for breakfast.

While everything I had is as I remember it...all good, yes, even the house tea.Unfortunately, there are new restaurants that serve equally good, if not better food.

This place set the standard for dimsum even before the legendary Le Ching blossomed. The old house tea retains its flavor. They still serve one of the best Hakao and Beef Wanton Mami in the city. Enjoy! 128512128077128055

Have not been here for the longest time... Ordered what I could recall back in the days at the old Shoppesville: Beef Wanton Noodle, Bola Bola Siopao and Hakaw

I was surprised that they still served free hot tea just like before... The taste was pleasantly nostalgic... I ate the siopao first. It was soft, sweet and light filling... Just the way it used to be. The Hakaw was next. It didn't crumble and the taste did not disappoint. Finally, the Beef Wanton Noodle tasted just like it did almost 20 years ago. The flavor of their soup distinct; the noodles made their own way was easy on the tummy. I was pleased that they kept their old recipes, stepped up on the quality and added a wide selection.

This was perfect for me on a Friday. I will definitely be back with my family for more. Le Ching now has competition for my money :)

Ling nam is one of those oddball place almost everyone knows (especially if you're filipino-chinese) but nobody talks about. Ling Nam will of course never be gourmet and fancy, but it a good place for noodles (even if you're on a budget) One oddity though was the slow service today, the food took forever to come, hopefully this was a temporary abberation.
