One of the classic hotels in the metro still resplendent in its' charm and beauty. We had a meeting at Makati Shangri-la last month and it left us hungry. We were about to make our way to Glorietta when the magical and haunting sound of a cacophony of violins made us stop and listen. We really enjoyed the music that we decided to splurge and have a light meal at the Lobby Lounge.

My fiance and I shared a Caesar salad and their club sandwich. We also bought a mooncake from the stand selling these in many flavors; we decided to start the meal with the supposed sweet ending. I liked the Caesar salad and I found the serving generous. The club sandwich came right after and it was pretty big. It was filling and packed with bacon and chicken. To be honest, the are not the best tasting specimens I have tried. But it was surprisingly heavy... Plus, the meal was pretty expensive, but in the end, you are really paying for the ambience.

Even if I work in a hotel, in all honesty I rarely eat in the hotels I stay in except for the breakfast that comes with it. A friend of mine invited me for dinner in their lobby lounge, and we ended up having a feast of sandwiches. The Lobby Lounge only serves "light" snacks so we had no choice. I must say their snacks are actually very heavy, but somehow was a tad short on taste.

For starters, my boyfriend and I shared a bowl of their Lobster Bisque. The soup was good and smooth, but it was served cold. It was sad because I was so looking forward to trying this, but somehow my expectations were not met well,

I chose the Grilled Ham and Cheese Sandwich. I really liked this, but again it fell short on taste. It was just a really big Ham and Cheese sandwich, nothing more and nothing less. I still liked it though.

My boyfriend went for the Classic Finger Sandwich sampler. It was a platter of their 6 different sandwiches. I got to take a bite of the one sandwich he really loved, which was the one that had salmon. This was great, but all the rest were ok too.

Our friend ordered the Club Sandwich. This looked really good, but sadly again it was served cold. I tried this and I really enjoyed it, but it would have been miles more awesome had it been served warm. The layers of the sandwich were ok and familiar. We couldn't finish the whole thing already, except for the bacon... Because... Bacon. 128536

All of their sandwiches were served with a hearty helping of French fries. Theirs were thick cut and perfectly seasoned with salt, but again they were also cold. 128563

I got to try their Lychee Iced Tea too. This, I really liked! It was honestly the saving grace of the meal for me. I'd go back to the lobby lounge for this, and if I had time I would also love to try their Lychee Martini. It was really great!

Although choices aren't as extensive, anything you order will definitely be a good choice! One of my favorite not so popular secret places in town for that power breakfast! 128077

Waffles with strawberries (yummy!), figs (yummmmmy!) and walnut. 127827127792

Make sure to order extra clotted cream! 128523

I'm not really a fan of cupcakes especially the icing but I must say, their Chocolate Cupcake is a must try!!! First time to appreciate the icing flavor coz it blends well with the sweetness level of the cupcake12852510084128077 Good Job chef!

I love their Blueberry Muffin (75 php) plus Pure Peppermint Tea (195 php)! La Sultana cake was a bit disappointing though. My workmate liked it, but I didn't. One slice costed us 280. There's nothing so special about it. I should've just bought a whole cake from Red Ribbon or somewhere. Peace. 9996

Will come back for the muffin! 128525

Best ambiance to do business, while having something to eat. Try the crab cake. Goes well with beer or wine.

Loving the latte art on this cappuccino! But for P200, I was expecting a hologram. With butterflies.
