From the moment we ordered food, up until we finished, the line outside somewhat didn't diminish. People just kept filing in. That's an indication that a food joint serves really great food -- they proved me right.

Fortunately for us, my Tita booked us a table ahead of time. The place was rowdy but not to the point that it gets on your nerves. The place is simply packed with customers.

All the dishes we ordered were delicious. I couldn't help but order another for take-out 128540

Because of locavore, I've rekindled my relationship with filo food again. 🇵🇭 Loved the originality & concept of flavors of every dish! I would say their dishes are more modern rather than the fusion kind, which we all enjoyed more since they were able to keep the authenticity of the dishes. Though we found the lechon dinuguan a tad sweet, we still liked it. The popular sizzling sinigang lived up to the hype. The kinilaws were short of acidity but still not complaining 128516. Baby squid was also impressive and so is the oyster sisig which we took down in 10mins. The ginataang kaldereta was lacking the coconut flavor but man was it still good! The sugpo con mayonesa was insanely delicious too, creamy and savory at the same time! Another great thing about them is their great choices for local craft beer! As for dessert, sizzling pan de sal pudding ended the night sweeter than it already is 128151128523!

First time here and for me the food here was good. I think most of their dishes are okay except that 2 of the dishes we order were just pricely tagged. I took a second look when we got out, seems that some dishes were reasonably priced except for 5pcs Garlic Sugpo at 650 and 5 slices of boneless lechon belly at 520. Actually ordering without considering the price was my fault, i guess i have to snap out of holiday mood.

Sagot gulaman tagged at more or less around 170 took too long.

For some reason, the seat wherein im seated feels like a thermal seat of a vehicle.

Overall its something i want to come back to, maybe order other dishes and be seated somewhere else.

I've never had a bad meal at any Locavore branch.

So we ordered the staples:
1. Sugpo Con Mayonesa (2)
2. Sizzling Sinigang
3. Lechon Oyster Sisig
4. Ginataang Kaldereta
5. Mac's Boneless Chicken

And we tried new stuff:
1. Gabi Chips
2. Sinugbang Bangus
3. Pandesal Pudding

Everything was delicious, as always. I was blown away by those Gabi Chips, they're the best I have ever had. As in ang sarap. The bangus was a bit overcooked for me. Pero it was still flavorfull.

Love, love, love Locavore!128525

We tried to dine here during its soft opening, thinking lines would be non-existent. Hello, we were so wrong. My friends and I ended up at Manam that night, so no regrets there. But Locavore is a must for me.

So when our couple friends came home from fellowship, I felt that the meet-up should be at Locavore. I made reservations 2 weeks prior for our Monday night meet-up.

That night, I have to say that TRAFFIC SUCKS!!! We trickled in, coming from different parts of the metro and overcoming the same crazy traffic. One thing I did notice: traffic makes you hungry. We ended up ordering the following:

128165Gabi Chips-- perfect if you are hungry and tryong to patiently wait for the rest of your friends to join you. Well, this was already on the table when my then bf and I arrived, so oopsie we were late.

128165Fried oyster sisig--if I could marry a dish here, this would be my mistress. Just kidding.128514 I absolutely love this! Crunchy, crispy, salty, oily-- everything you want in a pulutan. This is just perfect and if you don't like it, you must have your taste buds checked. We ended up with two orders.

128165Lechon oyster sisig--hello, it's like they want us to die from happiness at this restaurant. This is just another great sisig dish and almost interchangeable with the fried oyster sisig. Two orders please!

128165Baked scallops with aligue butter-- how can this dish be improved? answer is don't touch it, it has reached self-actualization upon its invention. Just eat it and don't waste that rich aligue butter. I think we just ordered two, or at least I'm hoping it was just two.

128165Pakwan ensalada-- one of my friends was very guilty at our appetizers and ordered a salad. I think she just wanted to stick to the salad, but she abandoned the charade when the entrees were served. It was a good palate cleanser though.

128165Garlic baby squid--I thought the dish was solid, though not my pick from the menu.

128165Sizzling sinigang-- the most popular item on the menu and the restautants' claim-to-fame should not be missed. The dish is just genius! I think balikbayans will surely enjoy the twist on a beloved classic.

128165Sugpo con mayonesa--THIS is the dish I want to marry. Seriously, senior citizens should not be allowed near this dish. The huge tiger prawns are dripping with aligue-effing-butter and lots of garlic. This is the one to order guys.

128165Dessert-- some from the group actually enjoyed desserr, but I just couldn't anymore. They did seem to enjoy it though!🙃

We were all merrily drinking beers while enjoying the very oily, fatty, and garlicky dinner. Cold beer just makes the meal so well-rounded. Don't ask what the pricetag was. Just go with it and eat!128556

We were so surprised at the number of customers they had on a Monday night! The place was packed, wow!128515 Sorry about the pics--a lot more barkada pics rather than food pics and the lighting was not that good...

This place serves really delicious dishes! I recommend the sizzling sinigang & gising gising since these two dishes are just a no brainer for me whenever I'm there, I just have to get them no matter what. We also ordered their Mac's boneless fried chicken, boneless lechon belly, and corned bistek. Just to put it out there, we were a big group! 128539 Going back, the food were all mouth-watering & we enjoyed every bite of it. I rarely finish a whole cup of rice and I almost never eat more than a cup but here.. It's fairly impossible to have just one! I just need to try more dishes to give it a perfect rating!

I've been to Locavore in Pasig a lot before because it was near work but my high school friends have been wanting to try Locavore for some time now so we decided to go have lunch here.

When visiting Locavore, I would suggest dining here in larger groups so that you can share the dishes and split the bill. The food here is a bit pricey if you want to try all their best sellers. Some of the dishes also have bigger servings.

All of the things we ordered during this visit are my recommendations when first trying out Locavore.

GINATAANG KALABASA [Php 350]
This is one of dishes that have a bigger serving. Plus their version of ginataang kalabasa already has this huge slab of "Locavore porkchop" which I'll call bagnet because it's crispy and really good. The squash puree is quite creamy and thick and goes well with rice.

SIZZLING SINIGANG [Php 475]
This is probably one of their most popular dish! It's more a sizzling dish rather than a soup so don't be misled. The beef is SUPER tender!! 100841008410084️ Expect this to be a sinful dish because of all the beef and the sinigang flavored gravy! 128525 I really love this dish! I can eat more than one cup of rice with just this as my ulam. 128584128055

LECHON OYSTER SISIG [Php 360]
Locavore has two varieties of sisig – fried oyster sisig (for Php 350) or the lechon oyster sisig, which I prefer. I like this one because of the crispy pork bits but also because the fried oyster tastes really good! It's not "malansa" and it's well cooked. It's cooked with a creamy sauce but during this visit, I was a bit disappointed because the sauce was a bit scarce. 128532 But it was still good nonetheless.

TORTA MANGA [Php 220]
For dessert, because there's always room for dessert, we got this huge slice of Torta Manga which is sort of like Mango Bravo since it has mangoes, meringue, dulce de leche and tablea. It's a good dessert for sharing because the slice is really big. 128077🏼

I noticed that Locavore has new items on their menu but since this visit was a first time for one of my friends, we went for the best selling ones for now. I'm actually curious about the Pho Lalo and the Kimchinigang, so maybe next time. 128521

I've been to this branch twice, the first time for (late) breakfast, the second time for lunch.

Here are my favorites:

🔹Sugpo Con Mayonesa
🔹Sizzling Sinigang
🔹Lechon Oyster Sisig

All the dishes were good but service could be better. They're always packed especially during peak hours so it's difficult to get the servers' attention.

I've heard sooo many great things about Locavore and have been wanting to try it for the longest time. Since the Kapitolyo branch was too far from my friend's home, we were ecstatic when we heard a second branch was opening in BGC!

We decided to dine here during lunch time and the place was packed! The staff asked us to wait for a while so we were surprised when she suddenly ushered us to our seats just after a few minutes. Lucky! 128513

To start off, we ordered their Street Food Platter. Meanwhile, we ordered their Fried Oyster Sisig, Ginataang Kaldereta, and Steamed Organic Brown Rice for our mains.

STREET FOOD PLATTER [P180] 110881108811088
Fish Ball • Squid Ball • Kikiam • Kwek-kwek • Manong's Sauce • Sweet Chili • Honey Vinegar Onion

I was very reluctant to order this since I can eat this anytime and anywhere (especially near schools) at a much cheaper price. But my friend wanted it so I said go for it! 128514 If I had to be honest, it tasted the same as the ones they sell on the street. It was good because who doesn't love street food?? The reason for the three stars is due to the price. Although I do love how they presented their dish. It gave a very classic feel to the humble dish.

FRIED OYSTER SISIG [P350] 1108811088110881108811088
I looooved this one! It's an elevated version of our normal pork sisig. I'm not a fan of eating "laman loob" but I do love the taste of sisig so this is just perfect. The oysters were just the right size. Despite the dish being a bit saucy (the sauce had a thick consistency), the outsides were crispy while the center remained tender. I don't know how to describe the overall taste but it doesn't taste like the regular pork sisig. Nonetheless, I still loved the flavors! Would really recommend ordering this! 128077🏻

P.S. This comes in another alternative - 128055 Lechon Oyster Sisig [P360].

GINATAANG KALDERETA [P520] 110881108811088
Beef short ribs • sautéed French beans • stewed tomatoes • marble potatoes • cheese • gata • garlic and shallot confit

This was my least favorite out of everything we ordered. I was expecting tender beef in gata infused kaldereta sauce but! I don't know 128514 It was just far from what I had expected. It was laid out in a huge flat plate. Sauce was scarce compared to the original kaldereta. (Don't be fooled by the photo). It also had a weird taste. Beef was not as tender as it should have been and the vegetables were still hard. It was just such a let down 128557 Maybe it's just not what I expected that's why I was so disappointed but to others, this might be a good twist to the normal way of cooking.

STEAM ORGANIC BROWN RICE [P65] 1108811088110881108811088
Loved the brown rice! First, the serving was good for 2 people (estimated 2 cups for the pot style container) and second, the rice was cooked perfectly - not wet and not dry. On a side note, the cooking time for brown rice usually takes longer than the time for white rice so it's very easy to have it undercooked.

The servings are actually good for 2-3 people which makes the price reasonable compared to the other restaurants in the area. Value for money 11088110881108811088

Service was great. The food arrived fast and the servers were accommodating. The overall experience was great and I will definitely be back to try their other dishes. 1108811088110881108811088

I agree with their statement, "Introducing a new kind of Filipino comfort food.." with a twist.

🍽We ordered the following:
Singkamas & Manga (I like their bagoong)
Street Food Platter (It's just pinasosyal na tusok-tusok)
Kare-Kare Wings (My favorite!)
Garlic Baby Squid (Like Adobonh Pusit with lots of garlic)
Pakbet Ratatouille (Super chopped Veggies)
Beef Pares Stew (semi sweet sauce)
Green Curry Bicol Express (It's beef curry)

128069Taste - Average nothing so special.
Servings - Good for 2-3persons per dish
💱Price - average in BGC meaning compare to other BGC restaurants this restaurant won't hurt your wallet.
Ambiance is rustic and nice.
Overall, I'll definitely come back for sizzling sinigang and ginataang kaldereta.

Dining in the hearty Locavore once again, this time in BGC for more yummy meals.... But stood firm with having Kimchinigang again, doesn't show much that it's becoming a personal favorite, hehehe 12852210084128077🏻

We tried out the Corned Bistek, another yummy ensemble! it's still Bistek meat but more like, pulled beef which makes it more soft and easygoing, but what makes it more amazing was rubbing it with the mayo cream 128522128077🏻10084️ it was like magic 10084128077🏻1008410084️ and what more to savor the sauce but with extra rice!!!128522128522128522

Then we also had these sumptuous Kanto BBQ Style-grilled Rib Fingers! A sweety salty meaty composition matched with a slightly mild chili sauce...oh and comes with slices of vegee sticks12852210084128077🏻

Well, well, well.... Got loca over Locavore again!!!12852210084128077🏻127864127881

so I had been hearing raves about this place
Filipino Food w a unique take , they said.
So L & I had dinner there ...
for appetizer we had
kinilaw na tangigue - hey! chilled , a little sweet. would have wanted just a touch more sour. but a good start 4stars
chicken wings karekare- deep fried crunchy oily wings, the way i like it hehe smothered in a reduced karekare sauce. not bad! nice touch are the green mango fingers to dip in the salty bagoong , yey not sweet.! 4 stars
Sizzling Beef Sinigang - The star of the show . tender beef short rib sliced thin in a reduced sinigang sauce with cherry tomatos , onions (small onion balls) and some expensive variety of string beans. the veggies were great! burst in ur mouth tomatos , onions good , the beans fresh & crunchy. the beef tender moist with the right hint of fat. but the sinigang sauce reduction was too sour & salty. you'd have to eat this with a huge spoonful of rice with each bite , to balance out its sourness & saltiness. not good for us trying to watch our rice intake. - 4stars!
crowded -3 stars - no space to walk out without bumping chairs & even asking people to move...
ambient sound- 2stars Noisy , you'd have to raise ur voice to carry on a conversation .
pricey @ P550/pax & we just had water -no dessert
serving size- to share .
overall 4 stars.

My second time at Locavore!
This time It is something totally different from the usual Filipino dish for me. I tired this fresh lumpia, garlic baby squid and pancit luglog.

Fresh Lumpia- this is not the lumpia I had in mind or the one I am used to, but when I tasted it, it took me by surprise! Its that good! It has salted duck egg, tinapa flakes and tomato ensalada with peanut dipping sauce and lettuce on the side. Spread the peanut sauce on the lettuce leaf and roll it with lumpia it was OMG! Im gonna have that again next time!

Pancit Luglog- glass noodles 127837 with crab aligue, tinapa, egg and chicharon topings and some meat and shrimps... I like pancit but I never tried this type of noodle dish before. It is similar to pancit palabok but it is on a very different level. Again, it's yum 128069

Garlic baby squid- my favourite baby squid! I love it! This is like Spanish tapas that got lost in Filipino kitchen and got better!

I would like to go back and try the rest of the food on the menu. Really awesome food.

It was so full when we arrived dinnertime and without reservations. We were no 8 on the list so we just ordered take out. We ordered Luglog, Garlic baby squid, Lechon and oyster sisig and Corned bistek. All were really good! Wasn't able to take photos though. 128556 Oh and it was good we ate them at home cos the place was super noisy when we went in to pay for our orders. Maybe a weeknight would be better and reservations made 3 days before! 128516

My cousin just came by to visit from Singapore. Every time she is here in Manila, she’d crave for Filipino, Japanese and Korean cuisine. For that night, she craved for Filipino cuisine instead, since this place was just walking distance from her place. I decided to bring her here instead. I mean I’ve been here once already, so I pretty much know that food here is great.

Anyway, Here are the dishes we’ve ordered:

GABI CHIPS (Php 145) Deep fried taro chips, garlic confit with labuyo aioli dipping sauce. When you first look at it, it doesn’t look that much nor does it look appetizing. However, when I had a taste of this crunchy chips, it’s quite addictive. I love how simple it is and you can taste the garlic flavour in every bite. I also love the fact that they used taro instead of the usual potato chips.

STREET FOOD PLATTER (Php 190) assorted typical street food, which are composed of fish balls, squid balls, kikiam, and kwek-kwek with 3 dips (manong’s sauce, sweet chili, and honey vinegar onion. I didn’t actually plan on ordering this dish though, since you can practically get this anywhere you go. However, my friends wanted to order this so I let them be. haha Well, just like I thought, there isn’t really anything special about it. Might as well, order something else instead of this in a restaurant.

LECHON & OYSTER SISIG (Php 380) Well, I’ve always loved sisig, no matter what it is. But instead of ordering our typical pork or tuna sisig, since oyster sisig isn’t really easy to come by in most Filipino restaurants. Any time I get to order one, I’d always jump on to any chance i can get. I think oyster sisig became popular to us because of the one in Boracay. But this dish here is a bit different and it does taste a lot better too. I mean crunchy bits of lechon mixed in with oysters??!! Dang! It’s really good. I would recommend definitely recommend this dish. Imagine eating something with a soft and crunchy texture and it was seasoned just right too.

GISING GISING (Php 275) composed of chopped sigarilyas, french beans, shallot and garlic confit, swimming in gata sauce and garnished with spring onion. One thing you should know about me is I love veggies and most dishes that are swimming in gata sauce. Having 2 of the things i love in 1 dish is just awesome. Most gising gising i’ve tried are usually just with chopped french beans, but i love the fact that they mixed more veggies inside. It made it a bit unique. I actually loved this dish, I would definitely order this on my next visit. It may be a bit oily, but i like that it had a bit zing, seasoned just right too.

PINAKBET RATATOUILLE (Php 285) Sigarilyas, kalabasa, okra, zucchini, eggplant, mushroom, peppers, swimming in bagoong broth and pickled ampalaya on the side. Like i said, i love veggies, and i think most food mixed with bagoong will taste good. You can definitely taste the bagoong here and i think they used the sweet one. This dish has both such wonderful flavours of the vegetables, plus the sweet and salty flavour of the dish too. For me, it was seasoned just right, veggies were cooked perfectly too. I like the fact that it had a bit zing to it and it’s one of my favourite dishes here too.

SIZZLING SINIGANG (Php 520) Beef short ribs, sautéed french beans, sampaloc gravy, and garlic confit. Well, I think i’ll be a bit biased on this one. Sinigang has always been one of my favorite Filipino dishes. Like I can definitely eat sinigang no matter when i’m sick and have lost my appetite on any food. But if sinigang was placed in front of me. I’d dig in right away. I love my sinigang soup sour. I like that feeling when your eye kind of twitches or close a bit because you can really taste the sour flavour of the dish. haha Anyway, this dish however was able to give me that sourness i was looking for. It’s not your typical soup, since they somewhat mixed sizzling bulalo and sinigang in one dish. I tell you, i definitely love this dish. However, my cousin found it a bit sour for a viand. But for me, i think it was just right.

ROASTED GARLIC ORGANIC BROWN RICE (Php 80), Well you can either have white or brown rice. But we preferred brown rice since it’s a healthier version. It’s not that super brown rice that has that strong nutty flavour. So it’s quite good too.

Overall experience here? Well, We had a great time. The servers were able to serve everything on time and were accommodating. As for this restaurant? Well, just make sure you go earlier than the time you are planning to eat here, since they are always fully booked. It’s better if you get a reservation already, so that you won’t have to wait too long.
