Not our first time visiting but my first time doing a review.

Food is SINfully good!

Street Food Platter 127775127775127775127775 Who doesn’t love fishballs, squid balls, kwek kwek, and kikiam? They have sweet, spicy, and vinegar dips too.

Pakwan Ensalada 127775127775127775127775127775 Probably the only healthy option we had for the night. My toddler loved the watermelon with some calamansi vinaigrette.

Tanigue Kilawan 127775127775127775 I didn’t get to taste this one but my dad complained that it wasn’t vinegar-y enough.

Ginataang Kalabasa 127775127775127775127775127775 We ordered this so we have some vegetables but the porkchop and shrimp were the main portions in a bed of kalabasa. 128518 If you’re going for healthy, this dish is not it, even the kalabasa is very creamy.

Sugpo con Mayonesa 127775127775127775127775127775 Mine and hubby’s favorite dish of the night! Yummy tiger prawns in aligue, butter, and japanese mayo. Everyone stopped at 2 prawns each though.... so good you can’t have more.

Sizzling Sinigang 127775127775127775127775127775 My sister’s fave dish in the resto. Beef sinigang in gravy. Sounds weird, taste so good! Not for everyone though, my parents kept on looking for sinigang soup. 128514128514128514

doing two reviews in 1 cos we tried Locavore both in the evening and morning. You can only try their champorado in the morning and I was just really curious about it. It says in their menu that it has 3 types of milk toppings: powdered, evaporated and condensed; and dont forget about the cream cheese and fish floss on top, are you freaking kidding me? 128514 but unfortunately, it was just okay for me. 128542 the champorado itself tastes like an ordinary champorado with lots of goodness on top. but I am giving this place a 5-star review because of the Sugpo con Mayonesa, Lechon and Oyster Sisig and Pudding Pandesal. They were all incredibly delicious. 100841008410084

Not a fan of their Sizzling Sinigang though. I find it weird, tastes like panis hehe kasi the gravy and sour soup mixed together but thats for me lang. the deconstructed idea of it didnt work for me. No pictures of the sinigang, their fried chicken and beef stew, I've only tried that during our team's lunchout.

Locavore has been a staple Filipino restaurant for me and a lot of other people I know. They don’t serve traditional Filipino food but the twist they applied to our local cuisine did not disappoint at all. If you’re craving for good Filipino food with a twists then this is a place you could try for a change.

I’m not sure if the chef at their Forbes Town branch changed recently but the food during this visit wasn’t as good as it was before and their prices also went up. It was very hard to justify the value for money despite their good food so this might be the last time I’m stopping by until maybe a number of months have passed by. Sad but oh well :(

Here’s a rundown of what we ordered during this visit:

My ultimate fave at Locavore is the Sugpo con Mayonesa. Huge prawns in pool of butter, garlic, parsley and yes, mayonnaise. I’m not sure what else is in the sauce but it’s bomb. There are about 6-7 pieces of shrimp in one serving but this costs a whopping 800+ now! I was so surprised. I remember that it used to cost around 650 which was crazy enough for me. It’ll be a while until I order this again. It would take a super valid reason 🤦🏻‍♀️128557

Another favorite of ours is their Sizzling Sinigang. Well, I think this is in everyone’s list of Locavore favorites. The beef is always so tender and it really tastes like sinigang. I love how there’s always a generous side of vegetables which I enjoy the most.

My boyfriend loves their Kanto BBQ Rib Fingers which is the last dish we ordered. I’m not a fan of this as it really is nothing special - it tastes like normal grilled pork which I feel like I’ve had at home (thanks mom!) and I’m pretty sure it tasted better there. During this visit though, Anton didn’t like it at all. He said that the meat was so rubbery and he barely ate it. Too bad, it’ll take him a while to visit Locavore as well.

Overall, it wasn’t one of our most fun visits, we’ve had way better ones and sadly it was enough to make us decide not to come back anytime soon.

This place transforms ordinary fare to an epicurean delight! The pork skewers, or BBQ, is delicious!

Locavore is proud to be local—and it’s obvious in its reinterpreted all-Filipino menu.

10024 Champorado ni Speedy 2.5/5

It opens just in time for brunch. The all-day breakfast bestseller Champorado ni Speedy is made for those who like their traditional rice porridge on the milky and creamy side.

It lacked a bit of cocoa tablea notes and when the fish floss topping is mixed in and enveloped by the porridge, the sharp smoked tinapa flavor became too overwhelming.

Perhaps it would be best to ask that the generous amount of fish floss be served on the side instead.

10024 Bistek Omurice 3.5/5

Although it looks too pretty to touch, make sure you mix your Bistek Omurice well. The grilled meat, reminiscent of samgyeupsal flavors, is bland without its sauce.

10024 Crispy Corned Beef 3/5

Locavore also has house-made corned beef which tastes a lot like the breakfast favorite adobo flakes. It is served with two fried eggs and a bowl of garlic rice.

128293 Bicol Express 4/5

The Bicol Express, at first glance, looks like a vegetarian dish. Its plating has the healthy greens covering the mound of meaty beef shank goodness. It tastes a lot like green curry, and its spiciness is no joke. You will feel its hotness the instant it reaches your tastebuds.

128293 TBPL (Tokwa, Baboy, Pato, Lengua) 4/5

TBPL is the most indulgent tokwa’t baboy you would ever see. With diced tofu, pork ears, duck meat and lengua, it shouldn’t even be considered an appetizer, it’s a meal on its own.

128293128293128293 Sizzling Sinigang 4.5/5

All of Locavore’s dishes are unique in one way but familiar in all others. Among the rockstars of the menu is Sizzling Sinigang, and for good reason: You’d definitely want an encore.

The deconstructed Sinigang version draws inspiration from bulalo steak. On a sizzling plate, seared beef short ribs that fall right off the bone are partnered with grilled vegetables, and then it is drowned in the thickened sour broth, a texture achieved with oodles of taro.

The sauce, called Sampaloc Gravy, is bursting with robust acidic flavor. The dish is so good you wouldn’t want to share it—and a fair advice for anyone whose favorite Filipino dish is sinigang, Locavore’s serving isn’t that good for sharing either.

Although its absence is forgivable, I can’t help but point out that this sinigang recipe was missing a key ingredient—kangkong leaves.

The Sizzling Sinigang will definitely have me coming back for more, but Locavore gave us a list of other reasons to pay a second visit, among them are the Street Food Platter, Kare-Kare Wings, Bacon BBQ skewers, Lechon Oyster Sisig, Pho Lalo, Lechon and Pares Mamis, sorbetes, and, of course, subzero beers.

Another favorite from Burgos Circle is Locavore. If you are looking for Filipino food that is delicious and different then this is the place to be. Kare kare wings? Really? I have to give it a try. Then there it is. My love for Kare Kare just went from 89 to 93% (still looking for that 100%) thick, tasty peanut sauce and the crunchy tasty chicken wings just made this dish an instant favorite. I hope then can add drumsticks also since it is my favorite part before wings.

Arty fartsy fried oysters pampadami ng hugasin ng kutchara is also yummy. Probably a posh version of ensalada with oysters. But masarap. And the crispy bagnet/ lechon kawala / crispy pata is so crunchy and manyaman I did not even bother to get a good picture anymore and just went right in.

Amazing food here. Thanks. Tape 2 side B

From the moment we ordered food, up until we finished, the line outside somewhat didn't diminish. People just kept filing in. That's an indication that a food joint serves really great food -- they proved me right.

Fortunately for us, my Tita booked us a table ahead of time. The place was rowdy but not to the point that it gets on your nerves. The place is simply packed with customers.

All the dishes we ordered were delicious. I couldn't help but order another for take-out 128540

Because of locavore, I've rekindled my relationship with filo food again. 🇵🇭 Loved the originality & concept of flavors of every dish! I would say their dishes are more modern rather than the fusion kind, which we all enjoyed more since they were able to keep the authenticity of the dishes. Though we found the lechon dinuguan a tad sweet, we still liked it. The popular sizzling sinigang lived up to the hype. The kinilaws were short of acidity but still not complaining 128516. Baby squid was also impressive and so is the oyster sisig which we took down in 10mins. The ginataang kaldereta was lacking the coconut flavor but man was it still good! The sugpo con mayonesa was insanely delicious too, creamy and savory at the same time! Another great thing about them is their great choices for local craft beer! As for dessert, sizzling pan de sal pudding ended the night sweeter than it already is 128151128523!

First time here and for me the food here was good. I think most of their dishes are okay except that 2 of the dishes we order were just pricely tagged. I took a second look when we got out, seems that some dishes were reasonably priced except for 5pcs Garlic Sugpo at 650 and 5 slices of boneless lechon belly at 520. Actually ordering without considering the price was my fault, i guess i have to snap out of holiday mood.

Sagot gulaman tagged at more or less around 170 took too long.

For some reason, the seat wherein im seated feels like a thermal seat of a vehicle.

Overall its something i want to come back to, maybe order other dishes and be seated somewhere else.

I've never had a bad meal at any Locavore branch.

So we ordered the staples:
1. Sugpo Con Mayonesa (2)
2. Sizzling Sinigang
3. Lechon Oyster Sisig
4. Ginataang Kaldereta
5. Mac's Boneless Chicken

And we tried new stuff:
1. Gabi Chips
2. Sinugbang Bangus
3. Pandesal Pudding

Everything was delicious, as always. I was blown away by those Gabi Chips, they're the best I have ever had. As in ang sarap. The bangus was a bit overcooked for me. Pero it was still flavorfull.

Love, love, love Locavore!128525

We tried to dine here during its soft opening, thinking lines would be non-existent. Hello, we were so wrong. My friends and I ended up at Manam that night, so no regrets there. But Locavore is a must for me.

So when our couple friends came home from fellowship, I felt that the meet-up should be at Locavore. I made reservations 2 weeks prior for our Monday night meet-up.

That night, I have to say that TRAFFIC SUCKS!!! We trickled in, coming from different parts of the metro and overcoming the same crazy traffic. One thing I did notice: traffic makes you hungry. We ended up ordering the following:

128165Gabi Chips-- perfect if you are hungry and tryong to patiently wait for the rest of your friends to join you. Well, this was already on the table when my then bf and I arrived, so oopsie we were late.

128165Fried oyster sisig--if I could marry a dish here, this would be my mistress. Just kidding.128514 I absolutely love this! Crunchy, crispy, salty, oily-- everything you want in a pulutan. This is just perfect and if you don't like it, you must have your taste buds checked. We ended up with two orders.

128165Lechon oyster sisig--hello, it's like they want us to die from happiness at this restaurant. This is just another great sisig dish and almost interchangeable with the fried oyster sisig. Two orders please!

128165Baked scallops with aligue butter-- how can this dish be improved? answer is don't touch it, it has reached self-actualization upon its invention. Just eat it and don't waste that rich aligue butter. I think we just ordered two, or at least I'm hoping it was just two.

128165Pakwan ensalada-- one of my friends was very guilty at our appetizers and ordered a salad. I think she just wanted to stick to the salad, but she abandoned the charade when the entrees were served. It was a good palate cleanser though.

128165Garlic baby squid--I thought the dish was solid, though not my pick from the menu.

128165Sizzling sinigang-- the most popular item on the menu and the restautants' claim-to-fame should not be missed. The dish is just genius! I think balikbayans will surely enjoy the twist on a beloved classic.

128165Sugpo con mayonesa--THIS is the dish I want to marry. Seriously, senior citizens should not be allowed near this dish. The huge tiger prawns are dripping with aligue-effing-butter and lots of garlic. This is the one to order guys.

128165Dessert-- some from the group actually enjoyed desserr, but I just couldn't anymore. They did seem to enjoy it though!🙃

We were all merrily drinking beers while enjoying the very oily, fatty, and garlicky dinner. Cold beer just makes the meal so well-rounded. Don't ask what the pricetag was. Just go with it and eat!128556

We were so surprised at the number of customers they had on a Monday night! The place was packed, wow!128515 Sorry about the pics--a lot more barkada pics rather than food pics and the lighting was not that good...

This place serves really delicious dishes! I recommend the sizzling sinigang & gising gising since these two dishes are just a no brainer for me whenever I'm there, I just have to get them no matter what. We also ordered their Mac's boneless fried chicken, boneless lechon belly, and corned bistek. Just to put it out there, we were a big group! 128539 Going back, the food were all mouth-watering & we enjoyed every bite of it. I rarely finish a whole cup of rice and I almost never eat more than a cup but here.. It's fairly impossible to have just one! I just need to try more dishes to give it a perfect rating!

I've been to Locavore in Pasig a lot before because it was near work but my high school friends have been wanting to try Locavore for some time now so we decided to go have lunch here.

When visiting Locavore, I would suggest dining here in larger groups so that you can share the dishes and split the bill. The food here is a bit pricey if you want to try all their best sellers. Some of the dishes also have bigger servings.

All of the things we ordered during this visit are my recommendations when first trying out Locavore.

GINATAANG KALABASA [Php 350]
This is one of dishes that have a bigger serving. Plus their version of ginataang kalabasa already has this huge slab of "Locavore porkchop" which I'll call bagnet because it's crispy and really good. The squash puree is quite creamy and thick and goes well with rice.

SIZZLING SINIGANG [Php 475]
This is probably one of their most popular dish! It's more a sizzling dish rather than a soup so don't be misled. The beef is SUPER tender!! 100841008410084️ Expect this to be a sinful dish because of all the beef and the sinigang flavored gravy! 128525 I really love this dish! I can eat more than one cup of rice with just this as my ulam. 128584128055

LECHON OYSTER SISIG [Php 360]
Locavore has two varieties of sisig – fried oyster sisig (for Php 350) or the lechon oyster sisig, which I prefer. I like this one because of the crispy pork bits but also because the fried oyster tastes really good! It's not "malansa" and it's well cooked. It's cooked with a creamy sauce but during this visit, I was a bit disappointed because the sauce was a bit scarce. 128532 But it was still good nonetheless.

TORTA MANGA [Php 220]
For dessert, because there's always room for dessert, we got this huge slice of Torta Manga which is sort of like Mango Bravo since it has mangoes, meringue, dulce de leche and tablea. It's a good dessert for sharing because the slice is really big. 128077🏼

I noticed that Locavore has new items on their menu but since this visit was a first time for one of my friends, we went for the best selling ones for now. I'm actually curious about the Pho Lalo and the Kimchinigang, so maybe next time. 128521
