L'Opera Ristorante Italiano truly is the perfect place for intimate dinner dates. Ambiance is the perfect kind of rusty. For a group of five girls who always find time to go on dates especially when Valentines is nearing, we couldnt find a more better place to dine at.

We were first served with their signature breads, which were really really good while waiting for our orders. Wiped out in no time! Three of our orders arrived altogether -- thin egg noodles in truffle sauce with prosciutto ham, duck-filled ravioli; and the angus beef rib-eye accompanied with mashed potatoes and greens. The only entree I liked was the thin egg noodles in truffle sauce with prosciutto ham. It was really really good, loved the balance of the creaminess and saltiness. A little bit of Europe. Duck-filled ravioli tasted like tuna for me so I was looking for something that couldnt be found, although still a good dish. Steak was truly disappointing. Both the steak and the mashed potatoes were dry. Too much pepper on steak and hard to chew.

Next came the capricciosa. Full of prosciutto ham and a little bit of mushrooms. Not that balanced. Ham was overpowering everything, maybe lacking in cheese. Still good to eat, just lacking something, although we definitely had better pizzas for a lower price.

After everything, our mushroom risotto arrived. I don't know what to say, really, as it was soooo soo good! Reminded me so much of my days in Europe. I couldnt stop eating it. I would order it again if I could. Love it.

It is as if we werent full yet, as we ordered two more desserts for sharing!! I love it when desserts make up for the lowdowns of the dishes. We had the panna cotta in truffle sauce and sweet balsamic vinegar and the frangelico cioccolato. Both were so so good and definitely gone in a matter of seconds. I loved how savory the panna cotta was and then sweet. Well-balanced and kept my tummy happy. The frangelico cioccolato was another hit! Bitter at first and then magic while on your mouth. Very delicious. Loved the sweetness and the kick of liquer.

Spent more than 5k for a group of 5. Some dishes werent worth it for me, especially the steak and the pizza If I could go back, I would definitely get the desserts again along with the mushroom risotto and the thin egg noodles in truffle sauce and prosciutto ham. Food is definitely good. Just hit and miss with the steak and pizza. Serving amount is good and service is impeccable. They were so nice to us and we definitely enjoyed our pre-valentines date.

Went to L'Opera to celebrate Valentine's day. I was actually hesistant to go out the whole weekend cause I'm really not a fan of hearts day. Surprisingly, the dinner went well and we didnt experience the vday hype. :) L'Opera offered a special Valentine's Day Menu. It was a 4-course meal with Piper Heidsieck Champagne. For appetizer, they served composition of Crostino with anchovy and pancetta, Octupus salad, and Parma Ham Coliseum. I love the Parma Ham Coliseum! The melon was fresh and the baked ricotta cheese made it really flavorful. The next dish, they served heart shapes ravioli with mushroom and truffle sauce. The bomb! I liked it so much to the point I wanted to ask for the recipe!hehe For main course, I had seabass. The best seabass ever! I don't wanna compare but their seabass is waaay better than Lemuria's Grilled Chillean Seabass. I finished the whole serving. Haha A had tenderloin in red pepper. He said it was really good. It literally melts in your mouth. For dessert, they served assorted italian shot glass dessert. I love their pana cotta but nothing really special about it. As for the servers, they were all attentive and really made the night extra special. :) Will definitely go back!:)

It was the best fine dining I've experienced by far. It was authentic Italian. I loved their scallops in red beets, handmade spinach ravioli with oozing cheese on the inside and their champagne tiramisu.

L'Opera, once a winner of Manila's Best Italian restaurant, is probably one of the oldest Italian restaurants in the Fort area that has withstood the competition from newer restaurants. Homey, cozy yet elegant ambiance makes this restaurant a charm, and perfect for more intimate dinners.

I like their grilled chillean seabass (now, my favorite meat), the pasta aioli (perfect aldente noodles) and its famous frozen tiramisu (though a little on the sweet side).

Late post...

A date night ... And we've decided to visit this place ... Interior was designed to resemble a French opera house with it's heavy design leaning on French elegant classic.. made more beautiful with the help of proper lighting .. Ambience was old & heavy ...a date place to impress for some... For me... It just felt old & good we're not seated near the drapes ... I'm allergic to them 128533

First, we were served with a basket of complimentary homemade focaccia bread topped and flavored it with pate black olives purée, sliced tomatoes in olive oil and butter spreads

For appetizer.. steamed & thinly sliced pulpo or octopus .. taste was forgettable ... overcooked & tough

Tartufo pasta was al dente with the right drizzle of truffle oil & topped with porsciutto Ham was lovely , though I've tried better & probably way cheaper too

Remember to take pic after I'm done with the juicy moist pink steak... saving be best (foie gras ) for last... Haha... I was a little enthralled with the conversation I guess ... was a good night with D.

Got the raspberry cheesecake & it tasted like it just came out of a ready-mix box no bake recipe...a big disappointment... soft soggy cream...good cheesecakes were supposed to be firm & densely creamy

When u visit the place expect the service to be slow... really snail pace slow... to enjoy ur company & so——don't come here on a blind date ... It might felt like the night will never end... smiles we're also hard to come by with our server... It dampens the vibes and kills the ambience ... Duh

Wish I can give a 3.5 star rating... Price to food quality doesn't warrant a 4 star & the atmosphere brought to us by our server was really meh .... 128530

10084️ Grilled Prime US Beef Tenderloin in Porcini Mushroom Cream Sauce with Fresh Broccoli and other greens. Medium Rare. I always go for medium rare!

I want how it was cooked. So tender and juicy. 128523 The Porcini Mushroom Cream Sauce blends well to the meat. Melt in your mouth. Easy to slice and chew. I found another lovey, steak 128518

I honestly forgot to never go to a fine dining restaurant when you're starving because, uhm, massive hunger pangs. As usual, the food takes a while to arrive but the wait is very worth it. Since this is a fancy Italian restaurant, I finally had the opportunity to ask them to make my pasta "al dente" and also gave compliments to the chef after our meal, teehee! Attached pic was our dessert: Panna Cotta in Raspberry Syrup.

I recommend visiting L'Opera on special occasions and if you have money to burn. Best to call for reservations esp. during Valentine's Day. ;)

If you are looking for a place where you can take your time catching up with friends while sharing great food then this is the perfect spot for you.

My friend and I shared these dishes:
Fresh crab meat soup with spinach - this was ok but it came in a cute crab soup bowl.
Homemade Mushroom-filled ravioli - I love mushroom so we opted to try the Ravioli which was cooked perfectly.
Prime US Beef Tenderloin in truffle sauce with fried foie gras - thumbs up to this dish, the beef was very tender and the foie gras just melts in your mouth.
Since I love ice cream for desserts we got the homemade Italian ice cream - I like that it's not too sweet like other Italian gelato but I think the serving was too small.
We also ordered a bottle of wine that worked perfectly with our meal.
I also love the spreads that we're served with the complimentary bread.
Ambiance is conducive for conversations.
The staff were also very attentive.

Sharing a great meal with a friend is one of the best ways to celebrate life.

A very elegant and romantic Italian Restaurant. Seriously, this place is so classy that I regret not spiffying up! 128517

It's a surprise to me to see the place totally "customer-less" at 9pm. Must be the bad weather I guess. So anyway, I ordered this Pesto with short pasta. (P380) It actually tastes better than it looks. Although they could've lessened the olive oil. The little pasta strands were practically swimming in it. It would also be a lot better if the pasta itself was cooked a little bit more.

The rest of the family each ordered different pastas. All of which were spectacularly good. The servings were very generous too.

Looking back, I don't think I ordered the "right" thing to show off their cooking skills. Aka -The Bestseller / Specialty. Perhaps another visit will make me like this place even more.

Overall, I think this place is perfect for romantic dates, anniversary dinner, or if you just want to splurge a bit and bask on beautiful interiors. There's plenty of potential here for an Italian favorite. We just have to find that magic dish. 128523

As a hotelier, I've been recommending this place as long as I could remember. I think there was even an old one near New World (I may be mistaken, but if I was right it downright just reveals my age!) so now that I've tried it, it did not disappoint! Or it could also be because I'm pretty biased because of all the prosciutto I ate! Lol we ordered two different salads, one was a plains old Caesar Salad and one was with Lolo Rosso and Arugula (love!) and of course Blue Cheese which make things all Heavenly for me! Main corse was the pasta, my friend had the seafood one which was "ok" not very fond of seafood pasta and I had the truffle prosciutto (yes again!) something which made my eyes roll (it was that good!) got too full from the wine and food had no space for dessert! Which was a first for me! Lol

Had our department meeting last night at L'Opera...

Ordered a lot of food but nothing stood out thus i drowned myself in Sauvignon and Shiraz.

Ordered some appetizers
Gamberini- served warm i/o hot
Cheese sampler- cut in chunks...wtf???
Caesar salad- croutons were like stones

Soup
Forgot the names but all of them were served warm i/o hot

Entrees
I ordered the alla Nappa - pwede na
Risotto- tasted bland
Chicken- dry and skin was burnt

Service- understaff thus it was painfully slow.

Somelier was absent thus waiters no knowledge on wine pairing..

Our bill for 6pax, around P10k +

Imho, not worth it !!!

Been going here since I was little and never stopped coming back! Love the ambience! Also, if you're going to go here, order the duck, lobster or mushroom ravioli. Their vongole is also top-notch. The pastas are all fresh and delicious. 128076
