My friends from Melbourne, Australia arrived this week and they've been wanting to eat "putok-batok" Filipino dishes. We were in search for a good Filipino restaurant serving chicharon bulaklak but ended up at Lorenzo's way. Though they do not serve chicharon we were treated to a set of dishes that was also high in choles but definitely good for the tummy128513

We ordered the following

1.) Sugpo sa Aligue - Really good but high blood levels would really rise because of the rich aligue sauce. Prawns are really big

2.) Gising-gising - one of the best gising-gising that I have tried. Not too spicy but the coconut cream is delicious

3.) Dilis-cious Rice - Fried rice topped with a good amount of dilis. Can be perfectly paired with the Aligue sauce or gising-gising to balance the saltiness of the dilis

4.) Knockout Knuckles - Top choice for putok batok dish! Their crispy pata is quite big and can be shared by six people.

5.) Spanish Garlic Chicken - chicken served with a lot of garlic and garlic sauce. Chicken tastes good but it was just ok.

We tried their shakes as well. I ordered the Tamarind Shake which I expected to be sour but it was not. It had the same taste with the tamarind candies that we had all known when we were just children. It had also bits of sweet tamarind :)

Place is good although I was hesitant to enter the restaurant at first because of it's fine dining feels. But surprisingly, the prices are affordable and food is worth it.

Rachel T maybe after your check-up, we can try the Sugpo sa Aligue hahahaha.

Filipino food at its finest. Their crispy pata is loved.. it's so huge, we jusf don't like the sauce coz its too salty so we asked for sugar and vinegar.

We also love their clams that is cooked in coconut juice. One of their best sellers.

My bf treats us for lunch here. We have a hard time choosing because my bf isn't a fan of seafood dishes and I always end up choosing a seafood dish. I chose calamares en su tinta. It was cooked perfectly and i love the ink sauce. We also ordered prawns i forgot the name of the dish. I find it blant and overcooked but maybe its just me. My bf ordered i think that adobo the taste is yummy but the meat was kinda hard to chew. We ordered halo halo like dessert in avocado and corn flavours which we enjoy, they blend the flavours well.

The service is fast and they are very accommodating and friendly. They are also very attentive because they are kids in our table with us. I can sense them securing the place so the kids won't break anything.

Sorry for the photo. Its the only photo i have.

I've been here a couple times and being part of LJC's restaurant group it's very similar. Innovative, quality Filipino.

Am rating my experience when I was looking for Halo Halo. So I asked the waiter. Is your Halo Halo different from Mang Inasal's? He goes it has Ube Ice Cream and Leche Flan. I said so does Mang Inasal. I continued I said so it's all the same? He says yes. So I skipped that and found a gem.

I love the Banana Mint Shake they have. It's part of a list of their unique shake creations. Very refreshing, sweetened right with a cool Banana kick. Must have.

Although the Spinach Cheese is quite lost in a Filipino restaurant, we had it for it was a light meal. It was good. Spinach very must present and balance well with cheese. The downside though was bread. We would appreciated crostinis or anything crunchy since they were going Italian here anyway.

Last we had was Claud's Dream. It had a good write up on being the must have and so we fell for it. Nothing that dreamy about it really. It's ordinary Buko Pandan just sweetened too much.

Sorry, no photos...but let me share you my experience last night. We had our post holiday dinner here with friends. We ordered Binukadkad na pla-pla, Crispy Pata, Garlic Chicken. I liked the Pla Pla, its crispy, the meat is moist and delicious and there's fermented rice as side dish which I love by the way. Crispy knuckles came in but its okay, I mean for me crispy pata are all the same, it will all depend on the sauce and if they are perfectly crispy. Now the garlic chicken came in...there was a hair on top of our dear chicken. I hate when there's hair in your food 128547 I just hate it. They changed it but you know it already disappointed me. Anyway, overall I think Lorenzo's Way is just okay. There was no "wow" experience. Plus there was the hair 128530128561

I'm sorry that this photo was chosen! No other photos of food were taken that night because we were so hungry!

Anyway, will just review the dishes we got!

Side kwento: My boyfriend is a lover of lengua since forever and he is very very picky with this dish. He prefers it cooked in a certain way and will critic every lengua he tastes. #wow 128514
In my case, I rarely eat it. So we tried the lengua of Lorenzo's Way and he said it was good!!! He is really hard to please with lenguas and for him to say that, it must be yummy.

Baby squid- we also liked this because it was crunchy and the breading was just right. 128513

Salpicao-this was my order and wow, the beef was so tender and you coild tell it was marinated well.

Blue shake thing- forgot the name but it tasted like a frozen cosmo/margarita 128514

Waiters and waitresses are so lovely and accommodating 128077

Same group with Abe so expect the menu to be somewhat similar to it.

Anyway, we ordered crispy squid, gising gising, crispy tilapia(?) or plapla (?), rosemary chicken, bamboo rice.

We really liked the gising gising, crispy squid and the rice. The chicken was almost left untouched since most of the people didn't like it.

Had lunch at Lorenzo's Way (was the name inspired by the Pacino gangster flick Carlito's Way?). Any ways the fam ordered: La Mancha (P185), Kangkong Lechon (P275), Binukadkad na Pla Pla (P399), Costillas Terrera (P695), and the Sotanghon Baby Pusit (P325). It surprising how huge and luxurious the restaurant was and yet the dishes and service was just nothing extraordinary. Its a shame that a fly endlessly kept roaming around our food despite the candle being lit on the table and coming from the same company of Abe (which is one of the Filipino restos around for this rater). Price was somewhat exorbitant for its quality despite its portions for sharing. Only thing worth remembering here was the Sotanghon. It had a lot to offer and just tastes great even with the first bite. At least this critic is not alone with these sentiments since there are a few honest fellow LooLoo members who share the same opinion.

Taste was so so ... Dishes we're forgettable ... Only this horrible looking pla pla taste better than the rest of the dishes we've ordered... But it's creepy even just to slice a piece or to put in it my mouth 128561128561128561... It's a evil mean looking 128033128033

I'll remember to bring my friends over for Halloween and order a fish each for everyone ... Hahaha 128541128561

The food was good but the service was not really good. the staff's bussing out bowls and plates without even asking if we're done or if we are already finished with our food. It's just ok to clear some plates on the table, but please have some respect and ask, or atleast just say "excuse me"
