All my friends know I'm a xiao long bao addict. I probably can't get by a month without it, so I've tried them all and love Lugang, Din Tai Fung, Paradise Dynasty, even Shi-Lin which was the first, a lot. But for some reason, it's Lugang Café where I eat the most often. There was a time when the quality of their xioa long bao seemed to have deteriorated, but now I'm happy to report that their Steamed Angled Loofah with Shrimp Xiao Long Bao tastes better than ever! I keep coming back for it. The original pork is yummy too. Keep it up please, Lugang! 128513

PS Only removed one star because I was seated near the kitchen, and there were flies swirling around my food and it smelled in the area a little. 128567 Try to sit far away from the kitchen.

Dimsum lovers, ready your chopsticks as Lugang Café's Feast All You Can promo is back! For only Php588, you get unlimited servings of xiao long bao, Taiwanese appetizers, soup and rice. The price also includes any dish from their House Specialties, a scoop of ice cream and a glass of iced tea.

128680 Mechanics:
1. A Special Feast All You Can menu will be used for your food selection. I've included a shot of it in the photos.
2. Strictly no leftovers or takeout (leftover food will be charged based on regular ala carte menu prices).
3. All table members are to have unison order. Either entire is to order ala cart or all are to avail of Feast All You Can. Combination order is not allowed.
4. Feast All You Can is available from Mondays to Saturdays only.
5. Toddlers 110cm below are free of charge. Children 110-120cm are half the price.
6. Feast All You Can cannot be combined with any other promo or discount.
7. Not applicable during holidays.
8. Promo is subject to 10% service charge.

First round is from May 2 to June 18 in SM Megamall and SM Aura branches while the next round starts from June 19 to July 31 in SM North Edsa and The New Glorietta branches.

🎖Tips:
1. Ditch the soup and go straight to the dimsum and appetizers.
2. For dimsum, I recommend the Xiao Long Bao only. It’s tasty and filling. It’s not floury which is good. Everything else is bad, to be honest. I am not exaggerating. We had to force ourselves to finish the vegetarian dumplings. They were dry and bland 128529
3. A great tip in eating Xiao Long Bao is to consume it whole. If not, the sauce inside would spill and that would just ruin everything.
4. Get ONE bowl of rice. It’s essential for any Chinese meal.
5. For appetizers, we loved the Pork Wonton in Spicy Chili Oil, Todu with Preserved Egg and Pork Floss, and Vietnamese Egg Rolls.
6. For the main dishes, we got the Wasabi Mayo Prawns (7pcs), Salted Egg Prawns with Salted Duck Yolk (7pcs), Taiwanese Tofu Claypot with Pork and Steamed Seabass with Black Bean Sauce.
7. Don't get your hopes up on the ice cream. It's just cookies n creme from selecta.

Overall, I think the price of Php640 (Php588 + 10% service charge) was worth it. One order of Xiao Long Bao is already Php248 for 8pcs and I could finish one serving in 10 minutes. Just really skip the other dimsum choices because they are not worth the calories. Munch away! 128069

I've had Lugang before, but first time to try this dish. The generous serving compensated for the price (260 for the combi meal), but the taste, meh. It was bland, in my opinion. Loved the iced tea was good though.

Late post. We were a big party (17 pax) looking for a dinner place on the weekend without a reservation. Luckily, they were able to accommodate us. AND, they had a dimsum buffet that came with 1 main dish and drink, unlimited rice and soup. Lugang has always been a steady go-to place for me, but the idea of unlimited xiao long bao was just heaven! We also ordered the kung pao tofu, three cup chicken and spare ribs as part of the package...none disappointed!

After a quick trip to sanctuario, we headed to aura for some lunch. Since hubby and I are XLB fanatics, we decided to try Lugang cafe. I've only been to Lugang once, many years ago in MOA and I don't remember anything lol so that doesn't count 128518
We were with my sister and niece. We ordered their pork and shrimp XLB, shrimp dumplings, dumplings in chili oil, chicken (nuggets?), pork chop and beef rice.
Service was good, I guess they've improved since a few reviews pointed out bad service. The food was just ok for us. The XLB skin was a bit thick and the soup wasn't as tasty as shi Lin (just for comparison).
For dessert, we tried the shaved ice with mango and I think this kinda saved our meal 128517 very tasty and refreshing! If not for the service and dessert, would've given it a 3.
Unfortunately, not a place that I would go back to.

I'm a sucker for hakaw, so when I tagged along (forced actually) with my dad's food trip quest this was our first stop, lo and behold they have no hakaw cause theyre a "tawainese" resto. Bleh!

So we ordered different varieties of dimsum to find that hakaw taste(well ako lang naman), and enjoyable naman. The soup concept inside the dimsum is new to me and it was a good take on dimsum. No hakaw replacements but they were good nonetheless.

We also had their gyoza and hainanese chicken, loved the gyoza..the chicken was just ok...cuts were too thick imo.

Place looked great, the lights were not too bright. The staff were very responsive naman, the place was clean too...surprisingly even when it was full. So good job on that team!! :)

Two Sundays ago, I was craving for something warm and comforting for lunch after starting to notice symptoms of colds and sore throat. After hearing mass, I asked my sister if we can have pho for lunch. She didn't like because she wanted to have dimsum so she suggested Lugang Café. Xiao long bao sounded like a good idea anyway. Soup and dumpling in one. 128077

We went early but there was already a short queue when we arrived. A lady ushered us to our table, handed the menu and waited for us to place our orders. I only wanted xiao long bao but my sister added an order of the Tofu Claypot with Pork. We requested that they don't put the chili.

Unfortunately, the xiao long bao was disappointing. 128542 The wrapper was too sticky and soggy. It wasn't soupy enough for me too. I asked my sister to finish it because I didn't like it.

The Tofu Claypot was pretty good but it tasted a bit boring without the chili.

I was out with the boyfriend, my cousin and his wife; first we went to Nagi Ramen -- and it totally slipped my mind that they (cousin & wife) don't eat pork or anything pork based (umm ramen is pork based) -- so we had to look for another place... Which took us to this wonderful restaurant - with lush interiors (so pretty!) -- anyway, we tried their beef soup, stir fried noodles in bbq, stir fried beef with chili, and my cousin got a rice plate with beef as well. Their drinks have a menu of their own & they're flavorful (the ones we tried). Servers were very attentive; they have a list of our orders on the table which they write on once we get our order (good way to keep track and to make sure we got our orders without following up).

Loved their dessert - Iced Sweetened Mongo!128525
Though their other food choices are "ok" meaning I can order better tasting food from Northpark or Savory with less the price we paid for in this restau.

The overall experience was nice! 128522

Food was really good and most of all I really loved my drink!! What I liked about is how nice and accommodating they are specially with kids. My son loved the high chair since it is on level with the dining table so it feels as if he is part of it and he was given his own set of plates and soup bowl128522 definitely going back. A bit pricey but worth it.

A late dinner coming straight from the airport .
First the drinks
Tapioca Milk tea with sago. Really good and rich !
Mango w sago and coconut milk .... Good too but the syrup brings sweetness over the top what with already sweet fresh mango puree.

Our meal :
Xiao Long Bao (pork) wala akong masabi , really really good, a lot of soup in every bite.

A jellyfish mushroom and flower sort of salad , good for two , really a sour atsara , but perfect to partner with 3 cup chicken

3 cub chicken , tender , tasty sweet . Good for 3
I previosly complained the the big meaty parts of the chicken drumsticks were always missing in the chicken pork adobo staple served in Hotel's breakfast buffets.
No more need to search , the missing drumstick heads or lollipops are all in Lugang's 3 cup chicken !

Will be back to try the other dishes .
Its a bit expensive , our simple meal cost us P650 per person . Wala pang rice and dessert yon . Tsk .
