For dinner last night, we ordered the following:

Sweet & Sour Fish Fillet (311088️)
Buttered Fried Chicken (3.511088️)
Yang Chow Fried Rice (2.511088️)

The buttered chicken may look really plain and sad but was juicy and tasty. The fish fillet was just okay. Fish was soft and not crispy and the sauce was too sweet. Yang Chow was a bit salty.

Service was fast, though. In less than 15minutes, all our orders were served. 128077🏼

Service sucks. Took forever for my congee to arrive. Oh and my drink? They brought it to the table after I was done eating. 128078

When i was a kid (as in when i was in elementary and highschool), mama would always bring home pork ball congee and hakao for me whenever i was sick. And i'd instantly feel better because I think subconsciously, luk yuen became my feel-good security blanket.128567

Until now, luk yuen is still my original go-to food haunt when im feeling depressed or weary--- or just when i feel like pigging out.128055

My favorites still hasn't changed, it has in fact expanded since i also love their deep fried chicken steak rice and their king dao pork noodles.

So when i look at drei slurping down her pork ball congee while i wolf down my hakao (and my own congee), i smile and say a little prayer of thanks to luk yuen and its magic to transform simple sundays to savory ones with its ability to satisy several generations127861127845127858

Chinese food fix in the middle of trade visits. I think I've had my share of betchin for one day after eating that udun pancit and shrimp dumplings.

Decent Chinese food but nothing worth jumping out of your seats to visit it.

The place is a bit unhygienic and low service quality, though it is still a "cheap and cheerful" place to eat in.

If it wasn't for the good food I would've given this place 2 stars!

First, the servers have no idea what's in their food. When you ask question like 'does this have shrimp' they say no then it comes out of he kitchen with a but-load of shrimp.

Secondly, you can see how filthy the utensils are. My spoon had fragments of rice on it! They'e even stingy with the tissue, whenI asked for more the guy just gave me a pack of tissue which I took as him being sarcastic... Good lord what have I gotten myself into?

And lastly it's like the servers were not trained well. Who the heck slams the dessert plate by the corner of they table while you're eating?

This place needs new management even the lady at the counter is rude. She placed my change and the receipt on the top of my plate, when she couldn't wait for me to finish drinking my water. 128530

Co-located in the Makati Supermart Coffee Shop and we decided to get an order of steamed pork siomai.

Four big pieces of siomai came after we finished our spaghetti and burger steak from the coffee shop, so -1 star for such slow service. While quality is not like that of Ying Ying Binondo, this is very close to good quality siomai.

Nothing too special. Their presentation was sloppy. I was just extremely hungry so it really didn't matter. Ordered Hakaw too, just gobbled it up before my cousin came.

The prices are unreasonably high for the poor quality and quantity. Chowking is way better.

Meh.
