My friends and i decided to have our annual meetup at Lulu.
Restaurant is located on the same side of wildflour and toby's estate. It's at the side of LP leviste. In case you came from the backdoor of v corporate building, you can pass through the building's lobby to get to the other side (that's what i did)
When i got there i noticed that the restaurant is shared with Hooch which is another restaurant but concentrates more on bar drinks. They opened the steel gate dividing the 2 restos at around 10pm and they started to dim the lights and louden the music as the night gets late. Lulu/hooch closes only if there are no more customers according to the waiter, so it's last man standing y'all.
Lulu have different menu for their lunch and dinner. I met my friends dinner time. Place has a relaxing decor although hard to take good pictures cause the lights are yellow/dimmed and surrounding is a bit noisy, which makes it harder to listen with each other during conversations.
We ordered 4 main dishes and 1 dessert. Each meal is actually good enough for 1 pax but since it was everyone's 1st time we decided to share each dish
We ordered the shrimp and scallop risotto, seared tuna risotto, porkchop with mashed potato and a salad
I liked the seared tuna becuase the taste was just right, not very strong, not fishy and the slices were thick. I also enjoyed then shrimp and scallop.
The porkchop slab was really really big but i didnt quite like the taste. I think it was because of the flakey porky taste. Thought, It was tender.
For dessert, we ordered their lemon cheesecake which was according to the waitress their best seller. I like cheesecake so this was a yey for me. Their cheesecake is cream based not the fluffy one. I couldn't get enough of it.

Here's a place that serves really good food...medyo pricey...actually, hindi lang medyo...real value for money. I had the pork chop, which was ginormous and delicious - tender and all - and my wife had the tuna. Wonderful crust and flavored. It sits right next to Hooch that is owned by the same people so you can have drinks as well. Good place to unwind after a long week.

CLASSY FLAVORS IN GENEROUS PORTIONS - What sets Lulu apart from other bistro-type casual fine dining restaurants is that they don't scrimp on portion sizes for very well executed dishes. While their ambiance may seem intimidating at first, steep prices give way to large servings of classic dishes.
LIVER PATE SPREAD WITH STRAWBERRY JAM - they practically used a whole baguette per order! The spread was decadent without being cloying and the strawberry jam gives an unexpected acidity and sweetness to perfectly balance the flavor
CRAB CAKES - Don't miss this when you go to Lulu as this is their signature dish! Perfectly cooked, meaty and extremely flavorful
BARLEY SALAD (pictured) - if you want something very light on the stomach yet filling, a bowl of their barley salad will do just the trick! Seemingly simple but every component of this dish melds so well together you hardly need dressing!
WARM MUSHROOM SALAD (pictured) - another alternative for a lighter meal will be the mushroom salad. Familiar earthy Flavors mix well with the balsamic vinaigrette they choose to match with this dish! The variety of mushrooms in this dish will not disappoint
SEARED TUNA - one of the highlights of our meal was the lightly seared tuna. The piece prepared was twice the size you'd expect from a fancy restaurant, it came with its a lightly breaded outer crust that gave way to melt-in-your-mouth fresh tuna. A superb dish indeed!
MAC and CHEESE (pictured) - decadence to the nth level with this cheesy goodness! Perfectly cooked macaroni pasta swimming in a pot of bubbly, crackly cheese... This dish will melt hearts!
BURGER - every place has a signature burger and Lulu'a rendition does not disappoint with its soft buns and well-flavored party, however I believe we should leave the artisanal burgers to the burger joints and I suggest you save some tummy space for their other signature dishes instead
OVERALL, this place has the staying power of a classic! Plus point because they also have some of the nicest, most accommodating staff we've ever encountered in the metro! Worth a visit for your next fancy dinner

These are not real wagyu. At least, it didn't taste like one. BUT what more can I ask. We just paid around 1,200 per person for unlimited steak. I found the steaks quite tender anyway. So it was okay. I hate that they didn't have service water and charges 85 pesos per bottle of one. It's quite greedy of them. We also didn't like that they were lacking some of the foods we tried to order like their shrimp dishes.
To be fair, they did serve delicious duck leg confit and club sandwhich. No complaints there.
Tip: It's right accros 162 lp leviste street and not 126 and 124 lp leviste. It's at the corner of hv dela costa and lp leviste in Salcedo village.

We've been wanting to try beef wellington but we don't know where to find one. Out of desperation, I decided to tweet and ask looloo, anton diaz (ourawesomeplanet) and pickiest eater where i can eat the best beef wellington. Luckily, pickiest eater replied and suggested we try Lulu (plus i got a birthday greeting from him hihi ️
)
So last week, we decided to eat here at Lulu. I wanted to try their crab cakes salad but it was not available that time. We ordered the Seared Tuna Nicoise and Classic Beef Wellington.
The Salad was good for sharing. The tuna was fresh and yummmy! Loved the dressing!
The beef wellington was okay. The meat was very tender but not that flavorful.
Service was fast. We didn't have to wait that long for our orders. The servers were all nice and very accommodating.

Located along one of the famous foodie streets, you won't miss taking a double look at how intimate the feel is in inside. Especially because of its high ceiling and the sister resto/bar right beside it.
I've been told that one of the perks of the job is that there's always good food. Truth be told, the restaurant asked us if we wanted to have a food tasting before the event.

Impeccable service plus great, quality food. Just don't order their Organic Squash Soup. I barely touched it.

They don't hv any signage , so need to ask around a bit... For me I just chance by the place ..... And smiled when I saw their name on the menu... Lulu... Reminds me of our looloo ️
Once again lured in by the interior.
The kitchen was open plan, so their exhaust did a formidable job absorbing food odors, but this, at the expense of air conditioning. It was a weeknight, and foreign businessmen dressed to the nines were frequenting the place. Drawn to the white linens, the colorful ornate artworks on the ceiling with elegant black drop lights and the sophisticated but friendly setting. I like the ambience.
We just had coffee from Toby's & some foie gras toast, my European friend still want to catch a few drinks from hooch ( I'll review on that later) we chose to moved outside instead since it's a rainy cold night and ordered their teasers.
Chicken liver parfait on Melba toast , jam & golden salad ... I love the rich full flavored pate, mix with a little home made jam on the side & toast is perfectly crisp way better than what we just had at Toby's .
Their take on the menu looks like international comfort food with a twist, Alexandra falafel salad, club sandwich, edamame risotto, Mac and truffled cheese, Argentinian empanadas, fish & chips, steaks and lamb... Looks interesting.I'll definitely be back
Service was attentive & friendly
Oh , lulu & hooch are managed by the same people

Fantastic cocktails, but only go during happy hour for half off everything. You'll burn a hole in your wallet much quicker than in your liver outside of 12NN-6PM.
One of THE BEST cocktail joints in Metro Manila second to Martini's. Recommend the Old-Fashioned (php 225/450) with yummy rye whiskey.
The local IPA brewed in Tagaytay is a refreshing change of pace from the usual Belgium beers, but not a worthy substitute. Only saved by the price. (Php90/180)
Surprised by the 12-yr-old Glenlivet at php450 a shot. Holy hell. Be sure to check the bar menu before ordering.
Recommend you try the "fun" cocktails (read: blueberry) if you're adventurous. But the classic cocktails never disappoint.

Pork chop recommended by our server. It looked much better than it tasted. A bit dry and tough. It also had a very distinct spiciness which I wasn't quite prepared for. This was preceded by the pumpkin soup as part of their lunch menu. The soup was watery instead of creamy. The only saving grace of the meal was the apple crumble. It didn't look much but had good chunks of apple and delicious crumble. It wasn't heated through though, so some parts were still cold.
I remember dining/drinking at their old branch at Joya Tower in Rockwell and liking the food. Perhaps food tastes better at night accompanied with some alcohol.

I chose one of their Lulu lunches (choice of soup or salad and 1 main): pumpkin soup and seafood risotto. The pumpkin soup tasted like it was diluted and the seafood risotto (or should i call it fish risotto as it has salmon and tuna only) really tasted fishy. The risotto resembled undercooked rice and was very grainy too.
Really disappointed i had good impression about the food when I first tried it a year ago at Rockwell branch..

A cocktail with actual cotton candy? Yes, please!
Sadly though, I may have built this up in my head. The whole concept is really good but the actual cocktail (which comes separate in a shaker) could use a little more work. It was too strong and left an unpleasant aftertaste.
Recommended: Gambas, Wild Mushroom Risotto (I also recommend mixing the two because the combination is to die for!!)

This place used to be a 2 story resto right beside my office in Rockwell then closed down sometime last year or the year before that. I was happy to find out they reopened in Salcedo.
It's a much smaller place, with an open kitchen. It has a similar homey feel with a small bar called Hooch right beside it.
I used to love their Turmeric chicken so I ordered it again. I also tried their Lamb dish. The chicken tasted just as good but is quite pricey at around P500. The lamb was a big serving and was good also. I was quite disappointed with their desert menu since it wasn't very exciting nor extensive.
I plan to go back to check out Hooch...

Great place and good prices for the quality of the food. Drinks are special too.
Avoid the duck though as they haven't figured that one out yet and over cook it.
