🍽 DINING EXPERIENCE

127860 Garden Cafe serves delectable dishes from Japan to China and of course the Philippines in buffet or a la carte. Our personal favorites during our stay were their pastries!

🥗 Lush Bar and Lounge on the otherhand serves a la carte dishes while being serenaded by a band. We loved the dishes that we savored during our dinner at Lush Bar and Lounge! We rarely eat salad but the Sicilian Chicken Salad that we got is a game changer, it is so flavorful and delicious! We also loved the Al' Amatriciana. It has that Italian flavor of spagetti that is a bit sour yet delectable.

127838 Bread Indulgence serves freshly baked and yummy pastries.

Last Tuesday, my officemates and I attended the business review of one of our vendors. It was held in Luxent Hotel, since it's quite near the office -- probably 15 minutes away. 128522

I've always loved the simplicity of this hotel. Once you step into their lobby, you'll be greeted by the staff, as well as a clean and clutter-free atmosphere.

The event was held at fifth floor, where the function rooms are located. The airconditioning was good, not too cold but was comfortable enough to keep us from feeling too warm. 128077 Sound system was good, too.

After the review, we had our lunch there. Food was so-so. The pork steak was dry and unseasoned, good thing there was sauce on it. I liked the fish fillet with tausi, as it was tender and flavorful. The puttanesca pasta tasted so much of olives, and nothing else. 128529 The bokchoy with garlic was fresh and crisp. The chicken cordon bleu was surprisingly really good, even though I am not a fan of this! The chicken was juicy, and the sauce was flavorful enough but did not overwhelm. The desserts were all too sweet for my life. 128546

[Apologies, as I don't have any photos to show you - I was too shy to take photos, baka i-judge ako ng future workmates and bosses ko! HAHAHA]

The company I'm about to work for held an event here today, and invited me to attend so I get a feel of how things will be once I start working with them.

I have never been here before, but to be honest, my expectations weren't that high. I initially thought it was a 3-star hotel, but later learned that they are a 4-star hotel. So with minimal expectations in mind, I went to Luxent this afternoon for their event.

FACADE AND SERVICE: The facade has a minimalist but elegant feel, and the entrance was manned with enough security personnel. Once I entered the hotel, I was greeted by the lobby greeter, and I immediately went to the front office to check where the event was held. My inquiry was addressed accordingly, and I went to the function room they told me.

FUNCTION ROOM: We had the event in the Winter Function Room. Once I entered, I immediately noticed that we had a room with high ceilings, something that's not usually the case for relatively small function rooms (below 50 pax). [Note: I have worked in a 5-star hotel before, and TBH, Luxent's function rooms were better than my previous workplace's.] I also noticed its cleanliness, and that the hall felt relatively newly renovated as the carpets and walls are clean and fresh-looking.

FOOD AND EVENTS SERVICE: We were served with baked mac and fried potato wedges for snacks, plus a glass of iced tea. The iced tea was good, not too sweet, and it does not taste like your usual powdered iced tea mix. The potato wedges were perfectly crisp on the outside, and well cooked on the inside. The baked mac was a bit cloying since the slice was a bit too big, but it tasted good, too. The event service staff were attentive and respectful, giving us excellent quality of service.

Overall, I enjoyed the event here! Kudos to the banquets team for a job well done. 128522128156

Note: I used to be a hotelier, so I have high expectations for the quality of service in hotels. And Luxent has exceeded my expectations! Yay!

The Garden Cafe is so subpar. Although the buffet price is relatively low, the quality of the food can't even justify it.

We tried the breakfast buffet. For its price, the spread is surprisingly plenty with lots of unexpected menu options usually not available in your standard breakfast fare - fruit croissants with beans, a plethora of cheese (blue cheese included), pasta with meatballs. There's a little bit of something for everyone- oatmeal, yogurt, fresh fruits for vegetarians, chili buns for the adventurous, for those with a sweet tooth and well cooked tapa and carbo loaded pizza for the meat lovers,to name a few. My minor gripe is that some servings are a bit too large for those who want to try everything. Ambiance is quiet, a far cry from some of the buffet offerings at the Tomas Morato area. Will come back soon!

Hey Luxent has really improved!128522

Stayed here years back and I did not enjoy it. Unfortunately, Cocoon was fully booked and Sequioa is not a good place for a staycation. Luxent it is then... Or should I say, Luxent it is!!!128540128077🏻

Their service was more efficient and the staff were so helpful. Rooms have no tub (at least our room) but everything else is there. Nice gym beside the pool. But the biggest improvement was the breakfast buffet!128522

You can choose the meat that u like and they will cook it in front of you. More choices as well!

Had fun!128515

Back here for a post-grad course... Though I'm so late!!!128513128513128513

I just like attending post-grads here due to the proximity, though I find the facilities and service a bit lacking... I prefer the bigger ones held in Crowne yearly, but it's difficult to go there due to my clinic hours...128563128513128540

In fairness, in comparison to my experience last year, there is improvement in the service... The olio pasta that was served had better taste... Syempre pareho lang...

Tried their Garden Buffet for dinner tonight and was pleasantly surprised by their spread. Their New Years promo was two for P1,500 but I think it's worth it considering they had Lechon, Mongolian BBQ, spareribs, tempura, fresh sushi, cheese and meat platter (with lots of proscuitto!) and lots of desserts including fondue fountain, halo-halo and pastries.

Place was nicely spaced and not packed which made dining there much more pleasant than going to a busy Kamayan, Vikings or Yakimix. Worth a visit if you like buffets!

Booked an overnight stay for Christmas Day so that my friends and I can enjoy some bit of staycation action. The room was booked via Agoda and it was for 2 at 4,500php inclusive of buffet breakfast.

Checkin time is at 2pm but their Agoda page says checkin starts at 10am. I guess that means it's subject to availability and if you're willing to pay for early checkin.

I arrived at 10am hoping to get a room early. Only managed to grab one at around 11-12nn which isn't bad and they didn't charge me for it.

Got a room at the 15th floor a non smoking one. I booked a Superior Queen for two. The room is spacious and can fit 4 without a problem. However, additional guests are charged 1500 per head which is crazy expensive since we already have two queen beds at our disposal. The bathroom is clean, hot water available. Facilities all in working order, no tub just a spacious shower stall.

Things I noticed that needs work, the placement of the television set which is more than off center. They do provide a DVD player which is cool. Their a/c vents tend to hit one area only. Other hotels rooms I've stayed in have cooling units that offer a 'swinging' function to evenly distribute the air.

There's ample closet space and drawers. Safety deposit box and a mini fridge.

Their Infinity pool is medium size with a beautiful glass acrylic panel on one side. For kids there's a small wading pool. The odd thing is that there is no lifeguard. A hotel sign states that they don't provide one and the use of the pool is the responsibility of the guest. The gym is located in the same area, it's clean with basic equipment but no trainer to help you out either. Pool attendants are in one section, ready to hand over clean towels.

I personally have a thing for hotel bars. Luxent has a sucky one that is in their lobby. It does not offer a relaxing atmosphere and I got served really bitter vodka tonic.

Breakfast starts at 6am and runs til 11. Their selection is nothing unusual. Same stuff you find in most hotel breakfast buffets. Their waffle station is probably the best thing there. Walk in guests can pay 600 for the buffet.

All in all, it was an enjoyable stay. If not for their pricey additional guest fees, they would be highly recommendable. During checkout I was informed that bbq buffet and fireworks show for NYE will be at 1,500 php pax.

Must make a separate review for Luxent's lobby cafe-- called the Garden Cafe I believe...

The ambience is good, with plush cushy seats and marble floors... And of course the huge Christmas tree on the side- imposing and drawing your eye to it immediately! 127877127876127873 Christmas feels!128522

The servers were well trained and very friendly... They serve Illy coffee, a break from the bland but super strong brewed coffee at the convention... I didn't really notice the price though... But this is a great place to hang out!128077
