A week before my trip, A friend of mine told me to visit Mabua beach. When I heard the name of the beach, I imagined of a white sand as white as salt. A gorgeous sand as fine as pulvoron. That's my own definition of a perfect beach. To be honest, that definition changed when I visited Mabua Beach. Everything was totally opposite of what I described above, but I considered this as one of the unique beaches in the world. The shoreline composed of pebbles and cobbles with different sizes, colors, shapes instead of sand. I was really impressed with the clear and cool water that make this place ideal for swimming and jet skiing. If you are brave enough to catch the big waves, you can go on surfing. You can also rent a neatly nipa huts and cottages line the shores of Mapua Beach. It would be smart to wear some sturdy sandals instead of slippers for it is quite tricky to walk across the cobbles and pebbles. The rock outcrop at the end of the beach is an easy climb and promises to give you a frightening but spectacular view. It is a great vantage point for the rest of the beach and even the mountains beyond. Try peeking over the cliff, and you will see that it is also a great place to test your acrophobia.
I just noticed that in some parts of the place, madami basura. I wonder if they are collecting 50.00 for the entrace fee, san napunta? If they they want their kids to see this place, they need to work hand-in-hand to eliminate the trashes left by previous visitors. Cleanliness should be paramount!
It was really not part of my plan to stay overnight coz I already booked at Siargao Bleu Resort in General Luna, Siargao. As per kuya driver, sunset here is very magical.
If you want to visit Mabua too, make sure you make an arrangements with a tricycle driver to pick you up and wait for you because tricycles rarely come by this area. It is just a 30 minute ride from the city for 250.00 (tumawad pa ako kasi mag isa lang ako pero nakakaawa naman din kaya Go nalang.)
