Mad Monkey’s is the hit burger shop in San Juan. They do serve big burgers and large cut fries but price wise, wow! It almost felt like I was back in Manila. Cause prices are skyrocketing! I had their SOS burger which is one of the best seller. It’s nice. A good proportion of patty to bun. The buns are slightly tosted while the patty is medium rare. The patty is well seasoned. It has this onion haystack like inside which gives a good spicy flavor in every bite. It has some lettuce as well but the cheese is quite notable. Wow! I mean, it’s melted beercheese everywhere. Somehow I reached a point where I almost don’t get the point of the cheese being all over the burger and even outside it and it’s still melting and all but it tasted good. Can be a little nakakaumay though. But good!! Interesting burger concept. But that burger alone is Php 250. Let’s level it up and make it a combo so add Php 100 to that for a choice of beer, softdrinks or water and some fries. The fries are crispy and of big cuts. Problem is, too much salt!!!! Too salty for my young life. Haha.

Place can be packed and it’s an open area so it can ve very hot. The owners are nice or at least the man cooking your burgers are pleasant. Please observe CLAY GO cause seriously it’s indicated and most restaurants in San Juan really observes CLAY GO. Let me share with you my experience. So while I was ordering a group of friends left the table near the counter. The lady owner was about to say “Paki-balik na lang po dito sakin yung lagayan”, but she was not heard. So I stepped in, I said “Excuse me, clean as you go” The lady owner tapped me my arm with hesitation as if stopping me. The group of friends went back, cleaned and done. So I do not understand the tapping part? Is she ashame that it should be clay go? Is she willing to let them go just cause they’re customers? Cause seriously I do not understand. If you wish your rule to be followed then impose it well. As for customers, the rule is strictly written so at least follow well. I swear, most Filipinos are so undisciplined and “too privileged” that I do not know what to feel anymore.

Anyhow, am I recommending this? Hmmm. If you have some money left to spare, not bad to give it a try. But if you’re on a tight budget, then nah. Forget that they even exist.

Ordered their classic burger. Bun was in the same league as Angel’s. Patty was okay but not tasty. The cheddar beer sauce makes it unique but not necessarily good. Overall it was just fine nothing fancy. Price of 210 is unjustified! I could get a tasty fulfilling burger with large fries and iced tea from Zarks at below 200. A forgettable food experience.

Mad Monkeys' is located at El Union's old spot. It's right across San Juan Surf Resort.

If you love onion rings on your burgrer, order the SOS Burger. It has a 1-inch thick beef pattt and topped with their Cheese Beer Sauce. Add Php100 to get a combo with fries and drink.

Make sure to order Onion Rings, it's divine!

Ordered the Classic Burger. 127828

Buns + 100% Beef Patty + Melted Cheddar Beer Cheese Sauce + Lettuce

Buns - would be better if it was slightly toasted, imo.

Beef patty - a bit bland and not as juicy.

Cheddar Beer Sauce - the only element I liked. Unlike the usual burger, their version was extra cheesy because of the melted beer cheese sauce. It made the too ordinary burger a little less too ordinary. If only the sauce was a bit thick and not too runny. 128556

Overall, it was just an OKAY burger. Too expensive for 210 pesos.

No burger madness here.

Sorry, Mad Monkey's. 128546128533

PS: CLAYGO! 128521

Mad Monkeys is a small burger stall along the highway near Urbiztondo beach. Super chill vibes here: open air, good food plus good music 128077🏻. They only offer classic burger with cheddar beer sauce. It costs Php 250 with fries and drinks. Php 180 for a la carte. It's worth the price since the burger is huge and yummy and the fries are thick. Super nakakabusog!! Perfect after-surf treat 128077🏻128512127828

For every day that we were in LU we had burgers from here, take note, we were here for 3 days. Ganon siyang kasarap!

The simple shack located along the highway serves burgers with thick and juicy patties. For ala carte it costs almost 200 and for their hand cut potato fries just add 50. Now if you want a combo meal (drink, fries, burger) it just costs 250.

A lot of people line up for their burgers. So if you're in the area you should really go here.

The most delicious burger in La Union and in my top 3 best burgers. Ala carte cost php180 while burger with fries cost php250.

The burger is composed of the following: sesame bun, veggies, consistent cheddar beer sauce (winning ingredient) and a thick 70:30 ratio patty. They have siracha mayo too

Their soundtrack is very good too! It's like some classic funky jazz tunes.

A must try when in San Juan La Union.
