We ordered their Sausage of the Week, chili sausage for P160 add P50 for fries and Moringa juice. I'm not a sausage loving person, I eat sausage around 3x in a year and the last sausage I ate is about a year ago, Hero. So I can't compare the two, based on my son's assessment as he is the hotdog/sausage eater, it is good and the fries is crunchy. He likes the place because of its ambiance; stool chairs were made if recycled cans and cute silver colored tables. The place is cold naman but I think they have problem with their exhaust coz when we left, amoy sausage kami lol.

Service is fast and staffs were approachable. For me, its a bit pricey, I mean I could get a better meal with my P210. But will definitely go back because my son enjoyed his dining experience during our visit.

Mad Mustard makes an attempt to be your favorite hotdog/sausage joint in the neighborhood. However, the quality of the food they serve doesn't match the expectations I personally had. The bread was not as soft as I wanted and the Hungarian Sausage ended with a bit of a sweet note. However, the ambience makes up for it with its creative use of cans for chairs and murals of dancing hotdogs on their walls. What I liked about their service though is the provision of plastic gloves which I find very useful. Worth going to? Maybe once. Does it answer my cravings? Not so much.

Another hidden gem at Marikina. Mad Mustard located at Sapphire St. SSS Village Marikina City. Happy to tried this new hotdog joint in Marikina because mostly I've been to burger joint. What makes this unique is that you can personalized your hotdog and caramelized with bacon and onions etc.A lot of hotdogs to choose from the menu. Perfect with fries too. Very affordable and good for sharing.

Mad Mustard is just one of the new worth visiting restaurant in Marikina.

We've found a city that's not too far from home that can cater to our gastronomical curiosity and that is Marikina!
Thanks to this new app, we found this new sausage place right in the heart of the city:
Mad Mustard.
They serve "made their own sausages" as their signs claimed. The place is not hard to find and parking is not a problem.
The daughter ordered Chicken Ala Cubana sausage that comes with curvy cut fries and "artisanal" iced tea.
I've meaning to delve into that subject of some restaurants that charges "an arm and a leg" due to it's presentation of their food and drinks.
Like for example they will serve your food on a chopping board and they will call it: RUSTIC, serve their drinks in a mason jar put some leaves in it and they will call it "HAND MADE" artisanal iced tea which in my opinion still taste just like any other iced teas that i've tried. Huh, the power presentation and ambiance has you in their spell! :)
Going back, their sausages are not that all exceptional given that i'm not really a hotdog kind of guy but hey at least i'm open minded. For the daughter's sausage she said it was good and relatively different since it has honey in them sausages.
Would probably go back again for her sausage cravings. As for me; if she's happy; i'm happy. :)
Try it, the price is quite reasonable.

We saw Mad Mustard in an online article which featured the Top 10 unique restos in Marikina. We were surprised as we didn't know about it til then.

When we went there for dinner, I would have to agree that, among the restos that have been popping up in Marikina lately, their concept did set them apart.

They sell gourmet hotdogs.

While they used the term 'gourmet' losely, it was still a notch above your usual hotdog sandwiches.

The place was small and designed quite well. I also noticed that they sold a variety of imported beers and sodas. Unfortunately, our top orders weren't available (Schublig with Cheese and Cheese Beef Regular). So we got the Schublig regular with add ons. There are lots of sausages to choose from. The add ons (i.e. Bacon, Swiss Cheese, Chili Con Carne, etc.) were at 20-35 each on top of the 150-170 sausages.

The food was OK and I actually liked their fries too.

We will go back to try their beer sausage!

Great selection of gourmet sausages near the famous Lilac food strip complimented with a good selection of add-ons to choose from (sauerkraut, jalapeno, caramelized onions etc). My personal favorite is the garlic sausage paired with swiss cheese.

Staff is very courteous. However the girl manning the counter didn't seem to be very knowledgeable about the different sausages they offered. Hope she is coached properly so that she can ably assist their customers.

But still a great experience which I look forward to repeating soon.

It was serendipity that we found Mad Mustard. We originally wanted to try out restaurants along Lilac, but as we were exploring we found ourselves turning to a narrow alley and found this hidden gem in Sapphire. And I have to say, their hotdogs are a DEFINITE MUST TRY!!! They only have a small area, with less than 50pax seating capacity but with a cool, laid-back interior. Hotdogs range from Php80-160, and just add Php50 you can get fries and iced tea with your order. Not bad, not bad at all!
