Malagos Garden Resort is just one of the many nature theme parks in Davao City. It is also an accredited wildlife farm housing different species of indigenous birds, butterflies and other animals. The resort is a 12-hectare land boasting with beautiful trees and flowering plants with a truly beautiful landscape.

We came here on a Saturday, the entrance fee is 550php per head which includes access to the resort, a buffet lunch and bird show. I instantly fell in love with the place! Living in Manila and being surrounded by tall buildings and smoke-belching vehicles all the time makes you appreciate sanctuaries like this. It’s a great escape from city life.

There are all sorts of attractions within Malagos Garden Resort. They’ll provide you with a map to fully enjoy your visit. There’s also a section in the garden wherein National Artist Napoleon Abueva’s sculptural artworks are displayed. A butterfly sanctuary where different species of butterflies are freely flying around, and my favorite part of the resort, the Malagos Chocolate Museum! 128525127851

Malagos Chocolate is single-origin made from ethically grown cacao beans from Davao City. Being a caffeine junkie, I first learned of it in third-wave coffee shops here in Manila as it is widely used in coffee drinks. Imagine my excitement that I’m finally in the place where it is being manufactured. 128525128517

The Malagos Chocolate Museum was truly amazing! It showcases the different stages of making their export quality chocolates, from farming, harvesting, fermenting and up to the production. This place is heaven for chocolate lovers!

We spent about 3 hours exploring the whole resort and it feels like it’s still not enough. Dedicate a full day here when you visit, or better yet, stay for a night in one of their accomodations. ♥️127851

If you can't think of any "pasalubong" other than durian when you're in Davao, bring some chocolates home instead.

First of all, their hot chocolate was awesome!

I was a little disappointed with their butterfly sanctuary 'cause I think I only saw around 4 or 5 butterflies but the birds did not disappoint! It was scary to feed them at first(I think ate who was giving out the feeds kinda got mad 'cause I threw the bird feed. "Sir wag po itapon pagkain po iyan.") But I did enjoy watching them especially these African love birds in the photo! 128522

PS: Some parts of the resort were under construction during our visit.

Be one with nature 127795127799
They have a bird show every Sunday at 10AM and you won't get bored with the park bc you have a lot of areas to visit and explore within the garden. Malagos also produces world class Davao-made chocolates and cheese 127851128157

I really love the place specially their butterfly garden. You can also do a bird feeding. This a place to remember.
Their 65% dark chocolate is a must try also.
