For my parents' last day in the island before flying back to Manila in the afternoon, my mom requested to come back to the Outlets at Pueblo Verde. I really like going to this place too mainly because of the awesome outlet stores and the continuously growing foodie plaza here.
We went here for lunch. Mama Linda wouldn't be the first restaurant in my mind when I'm in the area, but since my dad just chose based on convenience, he picked this place. I've seen Mama Linda in numerous places now in Lapu-Lapu City but this is the first time I dined. I must say, I was pleasantly surprised.
We started the meal with Baked Tahong (Php 175). We wanted Baked Scallops but it was unavailable then so we went for the mussels instead. It was ok with the cheese and butter. My mom must got a little irritated because the table next to us arrived later than us, but they were served scallops, which made us wonder. I had to ask and the waiter said they reserved in advanced. I didn't know we had to reserve for that.
For mains, we ordered Mama Linda's Roasted Chicken (Php 355) and it literally was one whole chicken, marinated with star anise, soy sauce, some vegetables and oven roasted to a beautiful brown color. It was actually very tasty! And it was fall-off-the-bone tender too! We also had their Mama Linda's Pinakbet (Php 185). This was delicious!!! This was my favorite of the meal! It kind of reminded me of the Pinakbet of Baliwag which I love, so it was the same with this for me! I especially liked it because of the nice sweet saltiness from the bagoong they used and I absolutely loved it!
I'll definitely come back!
