Mama Lou's is a go-to place for great Italian food. The original resto in BF still evokes a homey feel, as it is indeed the former home of the owners converted into a dining establishment. As always, great food! For soup, we had mushroom soup and minestrone. Both light and delicious. I ordered the spicy Italian sausage antipasti which I discovered goes so well with my main, Risotto Tartufo funghi. We also ordered their consistently delicious pastas. We had seafood pomodoro, shrimp A'limone and shrimp formaggio. Mama Lou's Never disappoints us.

One of the best Italian Restaurant for me!! I love that whenever we're craving for real good Italian food, Mama Lou's just a few minutes away from us and it's so accessible! Well, except for the parking but still. 128513128513

One Saturday night, we were all craving for something good and comforting so we ended up here. The place was full when we arrived at around 8pm that we had to wait for at least 20-30 minutes before we got a table. Since it was night time and it's not that hot, we were fine with having a table outside. Also, no signs of lamok or any insect so yay! 128518

FOOD:

For this visit, Mommy, Ony and I shared the following:

Mama Lou's Special: 5/5!! Tomato + Mozzarella + Prosciutto + Mango + Arugula + Balsamic Cream. Every bite is an explosion of awesome flavors! Must must always order this one! Who would have thought that balsamic cream + mangoes is a good combination and would make a very very yummy pizza creation!?? Galing!! 128077🏼

Quattrostagioni: 3.5/5. For a change, we decided to try this one. Tomato + Mozzarella + Artichoke + Ham + Olives + Mushroom. The combination seems weird at first but it was actually pretty good. But we'll still stick with our usuals! 128517

Vesuvio: 4/5. I've always been curious about this pasta dish so when we found out that they're also serving this here (as off the menu) we ordered it. And it did not disappoint. It's really good. It's like lasagna and cannelloni combined. Twice the goodness and yumminess! 128525

Rollo de Pollo: 2.5/5. Not something we'll order again. This one's sad. The tomato sauce + pesto and chicken w cheese filling seems like a good combination, a very savory and flavorful one but when we tasted this one, "ayy". 128529128546

Apple Pie: 3/5. Served either warm or cold + vanilla ice cream. This was just okay. Not the best tasting apple pie but pwede na.

SERVICE:

Service, as always, was excellent. You'll feel at home and happy whenever you're dining here! 9786

Went out with my family and other relatives to the original branch of Mama Lou's. It was their first time here so everyone was excited. We ordered the ff.

1.) Spaghetti Seafood Olio - Oil based pasta with seafoods (shrimp, squid and mussels). My mama particularly like this pasta dish and commented that it was masarap. My rating would be 128513128513128513128513128513

2.) Mama Lou's Special - This pizza never fails to satisfy us everytime we ordered. Prosciutto was a bit salty for my tita but she managed to eat it anyway. My rating would be 128513128513128513128513128513

3.) Truffle Mac and Cheese - From the moment that this dish was placed on our table I couldn't take my eyes off it because it was oozing with cheese. You can taste the truffle on your first bite of the macaroni. I would give it 128513128513128513128513

4.) Chicken Fra Diavalo - this one took a little while before it got served although we were already notified upon orderinf that it would take about 20 minutes before it will be served. The chicken was a bit dry and it was spicy especially the gravy. When we confirmed with the waitress, it was really spicy since the chicken was marinated in a special sauce before baking it. I would give it 128513128513128513 for now

They were all delighted with the pasta dishes and the pizza that they ordered. They even liked the bread and sauce which comes before the meals. My mom even joked about going to BF even on commute just to eat at this resto since it is just near our home. They even suggested to rent the reserved area on a special occasion since they enjoyed it here.

A small hiccup though maybe because the place was full at that time, we had to followup the water and the starter bread. We also had some problems with the billing which cost us some delay. They had to void the original receipt and had to review the bill twice just to get the right amount that we should pay for.

Additional tip: It is situated between two pokestops. I managed to get a Rhyhorn and 2 slowpokes (and of course some rattatas and spearows) while my cousin got a Kabuto 128527128513128541128521

The original Mama Lou's in BF Homes is jam packed for a very rainy weekday night, a testament to how good this restaurant is. For starters we got the mozzarella sticks and the Caesar Salad. Both very solid, dependable dishes.
We ordered their signature pizza Mama Lou's Special, pictured here. What makes it special is the combination of mango, prosciutto and arugula combined. We also had the Pizza Bianca, which is not as good as Mama Lou's Special, but okay too.
Most people in our dinner group ordered their various pastas, which were all quite good. My nephew especially enjoyed his Spaghetti Meatballs.
I ordered the very rich and creamy Risotto Tartufo Funghi. They cook their risotto so well that it is still al dente, just the way it should be. My cousin ordered the plainer Buttered Risotto, which is plainer but equally good.
All in all we enjoyed the night. Good food and good times.

First time to try out restos in this area. Enjoyed their spaghetti seafood olio, the aroma of sauteed garlic and the assorted seafood plus the al dente pasta makes this dish simply irresistible..

The truffle mac & cheese was a blend of cheeses and truffle cream over tender macaroni, topped with melted mozzarella and cheddar cheese.

For pizza we ordered half of Mama Lou's special, it is a thin crust with tomato, mozzarella, prosciutto, mango, arugula, balsamic cream. It is a little bit sweetish, perfect with the strong flavor of arugula. The other half was pizza bianca , thin crust with cream, mozzarella, mushroom and bacon.

The place was a home converted into resto, very nice ambiance and good music like "amore" and the old songs. Perfect combination for an enjoyable meal.

One fine sunny Saturday, my northern friends visited me here in BF for a BF foodcrawl. I let them decide where they want to eat but also made sure to recommend must must must try restaurants to maximize their visit.

First on the list: Mama Lou's.

They may have a lot of branches already but you cannot not try this place especially this branch where they first started. I personally love their salad, pizza, and pasta so I was excited to let them try my favorites. 128513128513

Just a few hours before lunch time, the place was already almost full with families and friends having a good happy lunch. Good thing, I called in advance so we have a sure table for our group.

Despite being full with customers, it didn't felt like the place was crowded plus it was also not hot and too noisy (the annoying kind). Yayyy!! 128077🏼

Ordered right away as we don't want to waste time. We had the following for sharing:

- Poutine with Bacon
- Mama Lou's Special Pizza
- Pizza Bianca

You can't really go wrong with their amazingly good pizza!!! I haven't tried any flavor that I didn't enjoyed and liked but my two favorites are the Mama Lou's Special and Pizza Bianca. Always ask for extra arugula and alfalfa sprouts! 128513128076🏼

Not really a fan of their poutine but they all liked and enjoyed this one. The extra bacon made the dish even better!!! 128077🏼

Service as usual was good and fast. Staffs are nice and approachable. 9786

I was with my siblings and we were like literally hungry and don't know what to eat in BF but my sister remembered this restaurant. She never it tried here but I think this was very popular in BF Homes so I trust my sister and ate here.

And woooow!! My sister never disappointed us and Mama Lou itself! Everything we ordered was very delicious! I loved their risotto though I forgot the name and wasn't able to take a photo because my sister ate it as soon as the waiter placed it on our table. HAHA. I ordered spaghetti puttanesca and they have the same taste with Italianni's spaghetti pomodoro whiiiich I also very love. One dish that also made my tummy happy was their pizza. Again, wasn't able to take a photo but I thought I really had it. 128546 I also dont know the name because my sister ordered it but I think it was Maria Clara? 128557128557 but it was soooooo goooood!!! The ingredients I think was just cheese, tomato and basil on top but grabe ang sarap talaga. Very light but at the same time very filling. 10084100841008410084

I will definitey come back here with my boyfriend naman. 128539

We decided to have a family dinner here for my moms birthday. One of the biggest factor, being it was a family oriented restaurant so definitely my kid would feel more comfortable. Not to mention can't deny the home atmosphere did intrigue me a lot.

Reservations - YES!! Let me start my review with the reservation since this is something I highly recommend you must do. Unless you wanna wait a long line to get seated. The ambience of the place - imagine going to your old aunts or grandma place in the province or old house for holidays. Old house, furniture and paintings/fixtures.

Service was quick, friendly and all smiles. When my kid dropped her toy, the server actually picked it up and took the time to interact with her then handed the toy back. Thou, it might not be a big thing for some. But it does make a big difference and impact. Those who took our orders were knowledgable and explained the options you have and what would best. Aileen the manager was great, she was always on top of everything. Not afraid to get her hands dirty she would even help out her staff when needed and serve and take orders as well.

Food - epic!! TBH it was my first time to try ravioli, so I can't be the best judge. But for my palette it tasted great. Got my filli mignon medium rare - pepper sauce for that bit of spice really delicious. Baked mac got a taste from my aunt. Cheesy goodness like no other. Drinks - Mama Lou's iced tea refreshing and tastes really really good abit leafy and woody. Raspberry - tastes like sweet wine. Food all AAA+++

Final Verdict: if you are in mood for Italian. You know where to go defiantly a 6/5 in my books.

If you're craving for some great Italian and kinda French food, try Mama Lou's! I first tried this in BF, Parañaque.

I ordered Mama Lou's Special Pizza consists of Tomatoes, Mozzarella, Prosciutto, Mango, Arugula and Balsamic Cream. And really, it's so delish! No wonder it's their specialty.

Small P350 Large P450

For the pasta, I tried their highly recommended - Vongole Olio. It's really good! It has sautéed clams with white wine, fresh tomato and garlic P295

I keep coming back! 128513128525128076🏻

All these years of being a south girl and it's my first time at Mama Lou's! It took us long to get seated but it was worth the wait. I loved their Pizza Bianca (we had extra pepperoni for an additional Php 60) and the super meaty lasagna. The pizza is paper thin so if you're a thick crust lover, you may not be satisfied. But for me it was okay since the thin crust really brings out the flavor of the toppings. Also try Mama Lou's Iced Tea. It tastes herby but it gets refreshing after a while.

Aside from the food, I also love both the interiors and exterior of the restaurant. Instagram worthy esp at daytime. Love the rustic feel of a restored home! 128525

Mama Lou's would always be one of our favorite here in BF. From the gooood Italian food -- the salad, yummy pasta and pizza, the best tasting salpicao, the oh so tender and tasty steak; their huge and generous serving size; the very reasonable and worth it prices; up to the homey excellent customer service. You can never go wrong here! 128077🏼

Before going to Alabang, Mommy and I had lunch here first. Even during the holy week, they were still open the whole day. And for a holiday (good friday), I was surprised to see a lot of people having lunch here. We went around 1130 with just two tables occupied, left at around 1245 and the place was full already. 128563

Anyway.. The struggle to avoid meat is really hard especially when eating out. It took us a while before we finally ordered since I was looking for options with no meat or with very very limited meat in it.

After n minutes, we were finally able to decide and so we ordered the following:

Chef Salad
- Fresh garden salad topped w tomatoes, cucumber, mushrooms, capers, garlic sausage, and shaved parmesan served with Italian vinaigrette.
- Good thing, there were only few sausages so I gave it all to mommy. The salad was good, the veggies were crisp and light, w lots of mushroom, cucumber, tomatoes, and cheese plus the dressing was so refreshing. They also have other salad options which are all yummy, as well. 128521

Shrimp Formaggio
- Penne pasta w shrimps, mozzarella, white cheese, basil in cream and tomato sauce
- Instead of ordering the Spaghetti Seafood Olio, we tried this one. At first, we felt sad because it looked plain and sad but it was surprisingly good and Mommy liked this, a lot. Al dente penne pasta, yummy, rich, cheesy and creamy sauce with tiny shrimps. It's so simple and plain but oh so flavorful. If you want something not so usual, this is a good pasta to try. 128077🏼

Pizza (half margherita + half pizza bianca)
*Pizza Magherita - tomato, mozarella, and basil
*Pizza Bianca - cream, mozzarella, mushroom and bacon
- For a change, instead of ordering Mama Lou's special pizza, we got their Margherita and Pizza Bianca. For the past few days, I've been eating a lot of pizza (from Trattoria Altrove and Gino's (+ S&R but they're different)) and in my opinion, when you compare the 3 of them, Mama Lou's is the best. The pizza is super yummy, paper thin and oh so crispy. Only sad thing is I had to remove the bacon from the Pizza Bianca 128546 But even without the bacon, it was still good. I can just imagine how this would taste with the bacon in it. Probably 100x better and yummier! 128518

As usual, service was good. The staffs were all accommodating, they were all fast and would come to our table just to ask if we need anything.

Overall, we really enjoyed our lunch. 9786️ I initially wanted to try the Apple Pie but we were too full to eat dessert. Oh well, next time!! 128513128521

Been here several times, but first time to have dessert here. Usually, i get too excited with all the main courses we order that I don't leave room for dessert (although i've read on the internet a long time ago that there was a study on people's stomachs wherein they fed the subjects until their tummies were full according to a scanning machine - not sure if it was a ct scan - and then mentioned the word dessert... study confirmed that the stomach automatically gives space once they hear the word. Might not be true but still a nice story to tell).

We got the apple pie. Yum! It was very filling and delicious. Would definitely order it again, it's just that their main courses are just too good. I have to be mindful while i'm eating the mama lou's special (one of my go-to orders) moving forward.

One of the things i like about this particular branch is that you can actually plug in your sound device to play music in one of their smaller rooms.

Also, an office mate rented out the whole 2nd floor for his proposal. WHAAAAT?! awesome :) she said yes by the way. :) So good times... good times. :)

That's it for now. Take care everyone and stay mahusay!

Unlike the other restaurants in the BF area, Mama Lou's is pretty much harder to find that's why it comes as a surprise that the place is always packed from opening until midnight. Really, who would have thought that a humble house on the corner would turn out to be one of the best Italian restaurants in the City?

Everything we ordered was delicious, a solid proof that each dish was crafted to perfection. My friends enjoyed the pizza and the Truffle Mac and Cheese, while I fell in love with their Seafood Pasta. To be honest, I've never really had a bad meal at any of their branches and their food remains to be consistently good.

Dine al fresco style and ask the owner's (Yes, the owner) recommendations for wine. Fancy a romantic date? Come here. Not only will the food make you and your date happy and sated, but the ambience will definitely set the mood for a really romantic night. I strongly suggest making a reservation as this place fills up quickly.

Cheers
Mickey

I went here sometime in December with a friend who accompanied me somewhere in Bicutan. Since we were already in the area we decided to have early dinner as we might get stuck in traffic going back home in the north.

I immediately fell in love with it's homey vibe and of course their food.

We ordered Poutine for antipasti. It was so good! Well I haven't tried others so I can't really compare but I don't need comparison to validate how yummy it was.

For our mains we each got pasta. I got the Spaghetti Alla Puttanesca which I found a bit too salty. I'm guessing they still added salt even though there were already capers and anchovies. I still liked it though.

My friend got the Spaghetti Seafood Olio which she also liked. I got some to taste and it was indeed good.

For dessert we got Mama Lou's Cheesecake which I also liked.

I'm definitely going back to try other dishes like their pizza, Chicken Parmigiana, Rosemary Lamb Rack and so many more!
