Great place and value for money!

We ordered one pizza (Pizza Bianca + All Meat). Yes, you can order them in combinations. The pizza Bianca was divine! Loved every bit of it! So far the best pizza bianca i tasted.

We also ordered two pastas (Truffle Mac and Cheese and Penne Pesto Al Pollo) The pastas have big servings! And are good for sharing! Not a fan of pesto but it tasted good. Two thumbs up for the Truffle Mac and Cheese! Would definitely go back for this! It was the right amount of cheesy! Highly recommended!

For dessert, you better try their cheesecake! We ordered the blueberry and it tasted similarly with Bag of Beans' blueberry cheesecake!

Overall, such a good restaurant!

One of our most favorite Italian restaurants finally has another branch in the South. My college friends really enjoyed this place during their visit before in the BF branch and since then they have been raving about Mama Lou's.

The branch that they opened in Solenad maintained everything that their is from their original branch, ambience-wise and taste-wise.

We ordered the ff.

Vongole Olio - Oil Based Pasta served with White Wine and Clams

Spaghetti Seafood Olio - Oil Based Pasta served with much more seafood than Vongole Olio (it has shrimps, squid and mussels)

Mama Lou's Special Pizza - this one we really enjoyed. The mangoes in the pizza made it more delicious.

Pan Fried Beef Scallopini - beef dish where you can select your choice of sauce. Beef was really soft and tasty.

If you happen to pass by Solenad and would want to try something Italian, you must definitely try this resto as it will surely satisfy your cravings 128077🏼

This place never fails to wow me and the family. I also loved the fact that it was consistent since we frequent the BF store.

Heaven for me is the mushroom risotto with porkchop and their raspberry iced tea.. Slurp!

All meat pizza, salmon and carbonara.. I can go on and on..

Ok i gave it a 2 stars because the service was really bad and the food was just OK. We went there dinner time, 1.) it took 10 mins for us to have our drinks and free bread which is understandable because there's a lot of costumers but what i dont understand was newly arrived guest havent even ordered yet received the free bread and water in an instant. And for the water i have to ask twice the waiter for them to give me water. 2.) the lasagna that i ordered it was SOGGY. 3.) they served us a half cooked bacon (its a topping on a pizza). So having said that im pregnant, and i cant eat raw food so i asked the waiter to cook the pizza a little bit more.. This part What really pissed me off was when i received the pizza it was cold and yes they cooked half of the bacon and half of it was still raw.. I mean really?? We waited long enough and that's what we get??... There is no care anymore.. A piece of advice QUALITY vs. QUANTITY.

Sa sobrang daming inihain samin, akala ko last supper na! Hahaha as in okay na ko sa pizza and pasta at biglang nag datingan ang mga steaks teeekkkaaa! Chinachallenge ako! Ahahhaha. It has been 3 weeks ago and I would like to test my memory. They said and I believe that you will never forget 2 things in life. First are bad memories and Second delicious food! Of all the Pizzas that was served. My heart goes shalalalala lala! Goes to Pizza Margherita. I believe most of them love the Mama Lou's special pizza. It's really masarap yet the Pizza Margherita doesn't give me that umay factor.

I'll give a tie score for truffled Mac and Cheese and Spaghetti con Tuyo. I suppppeeerrr love them both. I'm a fan of Mac and Cheese so Hands down ako dito! Wow na wow! The Spag con Tuyo was a breath of fresh air. Bihira lang naman nakaka try ng ganito so it was really awesome. I never thought na bagay sila together.

For the steak, I'm sure that I will go back to Marbled Rib Eye steak. It was cooked next to perfection. Malasa, tender and it's really masarap. Thinking of this steak makes me hungry now!

Always leave room for dessert - i feel so full but I can't resist the Italian Tiramisu served in front of me. After a slice feeling ko kinain ko pa ung cake ng iba. Hahahaha I love this cake! Woooo! Sarap!

One more thing to love about this restaurant. Its their good customer service. Staff are polite and attentive. No wonder, when we had the chance to talked to its owner. She sounded nice, humble and genuine. I can feel that she's a really good boss.

Late post for the recent South version of Rendezvoos! Last Oct 10, the lovely Peanut D invited me to Mama Lou's, Solenad, Sta Rosa, Laguna. Coolness. My only other Rendezvoos was in Feb 2013. So wow, that's 2 1/2 years ago!

Ive been hearing about Mama Lou's from friends and seeing it a number of must try Italian restaurants. While admittedly, it isn't among my top cuisines, who can say No to Peanut and the Looloo team, right?

(disclaimers: I couldn't rate all the food properly because I arrived an hour late, so some pizzas and pasta weren't hot. My 2nd disclaimer, this was a sponsored trip by the owners, a young couple David and Crystal. Nevertheless, I can give it a pretty honest review)

It's my first time to eat in the Nuvali / Solenad area. Wow, this place is getting so well developed.

Anyway, off to Mama Lou's. This was a big group of maybe close to 20 people. Glad to hang out with these guys again, my 2nd time in 4 months (the other being a meet-up) which was Uber cool.

Got to try their Margherita Pizza, a pizza with mango, and a pizza with seafood. They were all cold by the time but I liked the thin crust. Reminds me of how Italian restaurants do it. Tasted legit. And not too many ingredients. Also consistent. 3.5/5

Poutine ahhh good sized fries with gravy poured on it, then they added generous chunks of bacon. Dang! This was a winner. 5/5

The Ribeye!!! I got a new batch about a half hour or maybe even an hour in! Woot woot! Even at well done, the Australian ribeye was of a good marbling, it was soooo delish! Soft, thin cuts. At about P600+, this is the highlight dish of the rendezvoos. 5/5

Also tried the escargot but it was cold at the time so I couldn't enjoy it as much. 3/5

Dessert, the lovely Tiramisu was just the right sweetness. 4/5

The chocolate cake was a family recipe like the Tiramisu. Admittedly, I'm not a fan of chocolate cake. But this was good, too. Just not my cup of tea. 3/5

Ambiance was rock solid. The staff super friendly and attentive. 4.5/5

Overall, a solid experience in Mama Lou's. Steak was the highlight. Now off to sleep Peanut D. Zzzzzzz...

I know I'm probably the last person to review the looloo rendezvoos that happened 2 Saturdays(?) ago. Better late than never, right? So here it goes... But first let me tell you that I have the most basic (jologs) taste buds of all mankind. Till now di ko pa rin gets kung ano pinagkakaguluhan sa truffle. Ganyan ang level ng panlasa ko okay!? These are my faves among the plethora of dishes that were served: 128526

Mama Lou's Special - This one's a salad in pizza form. Pizza na, salad pa! Saan ka pa!? O ha! 128513 I liked that it has mango & balsamic cream with the basic pizza toppings of cheese and meat. They also serve their thin crust pizzas with arugula and alfalfa sprouts so you can eat it panizza style or not. Diskarte mo, eat it any which way you like walang pakelamanan. Lol!

Rib Eye Steak - Like OMG this is the most bomb diggity pasabog of all dude! I'm already about 80% full from all the appetizers, pasta & pizza that we had before this was served. Had I known, I would've just stared at all the people eating around me and simply waited patiently for this. I still managed to eat a little portion though. It was cooked nicely, melt in your mouth & seasoned to perfection - no need for gravy or any condiments. Buti na lang hindi ako vegan!

Spaghetti Con Tuyo Filleto - Gennaro Contaldo is one of my favorite chefs to watch on youtube. The dishes he cooks are simple (not all but most) that even a noob like me can't mess up. Panoorin nyo sya, nakaka aliw he's animated while cooking. Parang yung dish na to, simple lang pero rock! Mas madami paminta than the usual which is okay rin pala. Crystal (the owner) revealed they use Barilla brand pasta which we also use at home (pag nakakaluwag lang kasi medyo mahal yun 128521). Kaya naman pala malapit ang puso ko sa kanya we are pasta sisters. Charot!

Grape Shake - I hardly order drinks when eating out kasi mahal, #noChos! Or pwede rin pa-healthy na lang 128517 Pero pag may grape shake sa menu, time to splurge baby! Di ko alam ano meron basta gusto ko grape shake. Pinaka-bet ko yung sa Cibo then may isa pa resto sa Powerplant kakainis di ko maalala basta malapit sa grocery & Kodak. Itong sa Mama Lou's medyo ka-level nun. I can tell if it's loaded with sweetener, this one's not like that. Tamang-tama lang hindi tipid sa 127815. Yung iba kasi OA sa tamis tapos onti lang fruits. Wag ganun!

I also would like to commend their service. Top notch! I feel they're happy with what they're doing. Super attentive - water refill, change of plates para sa next dish, pahingi ng chili flakes, pa-picture, massage ay mali! Joke lang! Todo asikaso! Ang sarap bumalik kapag masarap na ang pagkain maganda pa ang serbisyo. Good vibes!

So thank you Looloo for making me part of this event (yuck ang formal). If not, it would take me a million years to be able to go here. Panalo sa layo ang Nuvali sa bahay namin. Kaya dapat magkaroon na rin ng Mama Lou's sa Pasig or Mandaluyong area. Sige na, do eat (it)!

Yes! I am an active reviewer and user of #LoolooApp and yehey, they invited me to eat at Mama Lou's Italian Kitchen for free last Saturday, October 10, 2015. Now, I am in front of the door of Mama Lou's, Solenad 2, Nuvali, Sta. Rosa, Laguna. As I enter the restaurant, I ask the crew if where are the Looloo peeps seated. The place is a full house when I meet Peanut, Odell, Roegan and the rest of the Looloo reviewers. Hello/s... were said for attending Looloo Rendezvoos for the first time.

So, after reading my emails, I'm ecstatic to join their rendezvoos, this is my third or fourth invite from Peanut D, previously my schedule always failed me, but this time, I can feel that the odds are on my favor. haha, so I go! 128520128525

I was late for almost one and a half hour! But I was surprised to be welcomed by them, newly found friends, plus the owners of Mama Lou's - halloo Crystal T, haha, same kami ng name, kaya siguro I got along with her agad! 128522 She and her husband was so accomodating and they never hesitate to answer all our questions. I love their success stories, I admire on how they handle their business, from preparing, cooking, serving foods to managing their staffs. Also they value customers feedback, they learn and grow from it. This isnt micro-managing but instead passion. Kudos to them, I wish that their business blossom forever. 128077🏼128522

1. Marbled Rib Eye Steak - this is my fave dish! I never had a rib eye steak like this before, cooked medium-well, topped with mushrooms, the meat is tender and I enjoyed every bite of it. It was mouthwatering, the taste still lingers on my tongue. A masterpiece! 128079🏼128077🏼128522 yummeh!

2. Frutti di Mare Pizza - it was a thin crusted pizza with tomato, garlic and assorted seafood. Addicting flavor thats filling!

3. Italian Tiramisu - heavenly dessert! It was my first time to eat a tiramisu like this. I can taste the espresso and baileys on the bottom layer of the biscuit or more like moist type of cake. The cream cheese compliments the slight bitterness of the espresso! Delightful! 128523128513

4. Affogato - coffee-based dessert, its basically a scoop of vanilla ice cream topped with a shot of espresso. This one was off-the-menu but you can order it if they required ingredients are available.

5. Mama Lou's Iced Tea - refreshing refreshment! haha I loved how light this iced tea taste, you can taste the leafy basil which makes this extra special! I enjoyed this drink! 128522128523

My phone beeped – someone sent an e-mail to me, but I chose to ignore it thinking that it was just a spam or send to all notification from other apps that I am using. The next day, I checked my e-mail only to be surprised that I received an e-mail from Peanut. I got invited. Yay! I cannot contain my happiness that I got invited to join looloo’s event sponsored by Mama Lou’s. I cannot believe that the message was really intended for me since I am newbie. So just like what Peanut said, it was a “no-brainer question”. I quickly gave her my big Yes! Ha-ha!

I was also one of the latecomers My apologies guys… I was not able to hear the whole story from Crystal and David and was not able to capture good photos of the dishes served to us. Thank you to Odelle for giving his seat to me and Abe for giving me lots of food and its name. These were the dishes that I was able to try:

Marbled Rib Eye Steak – It was the first dish gave to me and I was hesitant to get a slice at first since I am not really a [fan] carnivore, but luckily I did. Their steak is a bomb - soft and juicy. I’m not over reacting. It’s a must try!

Poutine – My all time favorite in Mama Lou’s and all fries lovers must try this! It is a French fries topped with mozzarella, gravy and bacon. Do I need to say more about this? Just give it a try.

Truffle Mac and Cheese – It was cold when I tried this dish and did not enjoy it that much. My fault for being late. Lesson Learned: Do not trust your phone alarm clock. LOL!

Escargot – These are imported snails baked in butter, celery, garlic and cheese. I was eating one when Abe said that it was a snail. Ooops! But it was good, even when cold. I bet it could have been better if it was still warm. My fault again.

Margherita – Pizza with 3 simple ingredients [Tomato, mozzarella and basil], very simple yet delicious.

Frutti di Mare – Oh! I love seafoods! I haven’t tried their seafood pizza and I was very delighted that it was served to us. I just wish they also serve the arugula and alfalfa sprouts.

Tiramisu – I took a very little portion of it and enjoyed it. Not too sweet – great for non sweet tooth people.

Chocolate Cake – Savored this while sipping their cappuccino. Nothing beats cake and coffee.

Mama Lou’s Iced Tea – Special Iced tea with crushed leaves of… not sure what was that, but it tastes so good.

It was such a great experience. Thank you so much Crystal T and David for accommodating a pack of ravenous and noisy looloo’ers. Ha-ha! Hope we gave other customers a blissful experience too. Kudos to your staff that were very attentive and accommodating. Let them know that their enthusiasm and solicitude were greatly appreciated.

I've actually been to this restaurant twice already but when I received an invite to the looloo rendezvous event to be held here, I still quickly said YES! 128522 hahaha!

I actually got excited because I'll get to try the other dishes from Mama Lou's and of course, I'll get to meet new friends and the looloo crew in person. 128518

We were served with A LOT of food! And here are the food I tried.

Truffle mac n cheese - Highly recommended! The pasta was al dente, the creaminess and saltiness was just right. Topped with delicious cheese! Aaah I'm craving one right now! My gaaawd, do you guys deliver? Hehehe! Anyway, I noticed most of us was also raving about how yummy it is.

Escargot - it's my first time to try it. It looked yummy and you'll not think its a snail. Haha! So I immediately tried it. It was smothered in cheese! It made me remember my mom's baked tahong :) but since I came in a bit late, it got a bit cold and hard already.

Mama Lou's special pizza - the mango added the twist to the taste. You might think the mango and prosciutto is a weird combination but it really worked well. Salty with the sweet and tangy mango. This is now on my favorite list 127829

Beef - It was so soft and I think I got so full after I ate a lot of this. Hahaha! No further explanation needed! Lol.

Seafood pizza - This was also good although it was not crispy anymore bec. It was already cold when I ate it :( oh, and I hope they will add more shrimp on it

Italian tiramisu - It's good that this has just the right amount of coffee flavor. Not to strong and not too light.

Chocolate cake - Chocolate cake with choco icing and an ice cream filling?! Who wouldn't love that?!! (I think) dark chocolate complemented the vanilla ice cream. Yumyum! The ice cream tastes familiar though, I'm still wondering where I tasted that.

Service was superb (as always). It is really nice to see the staff were very attentive and were always smiling.

We were privileged to meet the owners of Mama Lou's. Listening to them made me realize that being hands-on on their restaurant, having a consistent quality food and being good with their staff made the restaurant flourish more.

I'm so glad to be invited for the first time at Looloo Rendezvous! And what excites me more was it's going to be sponsored by Mama Lou's!--one of my fave italian resto in nuvali128525 Here are the dishes were served:

Poutine- french fries topped with gravy and cheese. I liked this one as appetizer.

Escargots- i wasn't able to try this one because i don't really eat snails but as per other looloers who tried it it's good- Snails baked with garlic and butter topped with lotsa mozza cheese!

3 kinds of pizza were served too:

Mama Lou's special- tomato based, topped with prosciutto, mango, arugula, drizzled with balsamic cream. This is one of their bestseller salty and sweet from the mango it's a refreshing taste. Must try!

Margherita- a simple tomato, basil and mozzarella but yet delish.

Frutti di mare- tomato with assorted seafood and garlic. Very good too not only for seafood lover.

3 kinds of pasta

Truffle Mac n' cheese- my personal favorite! Loaded with cheddar and mozzarella cheese with truffle cream. Very comforting. A must try!

Spaghetti con tuyo fillet- salted fish fillets, tomatoes and garlic. I'm not really a fan of oil based pastas but this simple yet so yummy made me changed my mind. Delicioso!

Penne in tomato and cream pasta- i don't remember the name but this is okay too.

We also got to try their Oven Roasted Chicken in rosemary olive oil with butter/chili dip. I found this a bit dry but still tasted good.

One of my fave now on their menu is their Marbled Ribeye steak topped with garlic and mushroom it's SOOO Good! Tasty, juicy and very tender. I believed it's served in medium well. (Hubby's gonna love this)

Beef in marsala sauce- this one is good, the meat was very tender as well and the taste was just right.

For our dessert we were served 2 kinds of their cakes:

Tiramisu- layers of biscuits soaked in espresso and baileys. Layered and topped with cream cheese. One of the best tiramisu i've tried! Seriously! Not too sweet and the espresso baileys wasn't empowering and the cream cheese balanced everyhing.

Chocolate cake- this one is very good too! Not your ordinary chocolate cake i'm not sure what else they put in there but it's so good! Both of the cakes were served cold that made it tastes better.

I also got to try their Affogato in half- vanilla ice cream with esspresso shot. It's really strong but i think for some would like this one.( Not included in the menu)

I really enjoyed the food and their service is consistently great. Staffs were always accomodating and friendly no matter how packed they are. Good job128077🏻128077🏻 Thank you everyone at Mama Lous9786

My first ever |ooloo rendezvoos (a sponsored event) and it's waaaay south. Thankfully, Peanut D thought I was a southerner - the reason I got invited. 128514 It is no secret how much love I have for Mama Lou's so when I got the invite that they're the sponsor, I instantly said yes.

We were served the following dishes and every thing was really delicious. No exaggeration.

Poutine: French fries topped with mozzarella cheese and gravy. Really cheesy.

Escargots: Baked snail, so there's cheese and butter. I'm surprised that I actually liked it. It wasn't too chooey. This has to be eaten immediately though because the texture of the cheese and snail changes after some time.

Pizza Margherita: Tomato, mozzarella, basil. Very simple but tastes really good.

Mama Lou's Special Pizza: This is my staple order so I was very glad when it got served. It has tomato, mozzarella, prosciutto, mango, arugula, and drizzled with balsamic cream.

Spaghetti con tuyo filleto: Spaghetti (no. 3) in olive oil with salted fish fillet. This looked very simple but it was delicious.

Truffle Mac and Cheese: I am not a fan of the truffle but this tasted good too.

Marbled rib eye steak: No-frills steak. From this day forward, I vow to order this dish every time I'm in Mama Lou's, together with the MLS pizza.

Pan fried beef scallopini with marsala sauce (white wine): Super tender beef slices with Marsala wine.

Italian tiramisu: Not too sweet and it has Espresso and Baileys.128561

Chocolate cake: This was good as well. Served cold, moist, and also not too sweet.

There are a couple of dishes I missed, the chicken and another pasta which I didn't get to try because I was too full already!

After about a couple of visits at Mama Lou's, I've been wondering how they're always consistent with the taste and quality of their food and also with the quality of their service. So when the owners, Crystal T and David, joined us for dessert and shared their story, it all made sense. How they value their people manifests in the overall quality of Mama Lou's.

I rarely got invited at events - that's a fact.  If by some divine intervention i got invited,  it is usually for the events i dread (exclusive invites for Mango and Zara not included).

Anyway,  the recent invite was something else.  This one i weally weally like,  looloo rendezvous! 

Lunch at the best Italian Restaurant in the Metro (they go by Mama Lou's Italian Kitchen by the way) with the wonderful people of looloo.  These are the dishes they served:

Poutine.  I like my fries naked - plain and lighly salted.  But don't get me wrong the potatoes are fried to perfection.  The fries maintained its crispy texture even after a few hours.   I'm guessing adding the other components is okay because the potatoes are done well. 

Pizza.  They served three kinds.  Mama Lou's Special,  Seafood Pizza and the other one i cant remember.  I am a forever fan of thin crust pizza.  I think that what makes a good pizza is it's simplicity.  The lesser the ingredients the better,  as each element compliments the totality of the dish.  Your tastebuds will not be confused on the first bite.  Pizza ala Napoletana.

Escargot.  First time to eat snail.  It took me a couple of minutes before i finally got the guts to try one.  I keep on picturing the actual appearance of the snail in my head hence the hesitation.  Visually the dish looks stunning.  One will not think that escargot hides under the thick layers of cheese.  It's not bad,  similar to mussels but different texture.  I am not that sophisticated to appreciate escargot.  As per Lea A,  the chef did a good job in masking the earthy taste of the snail. 

Pasta.  They served two kinds.  The one I liked is the spaghettini #3 in olive oil with some dried herring on the side.  This is best oil-based pasta I've tasted in a while.  The simplicity of the dish is it's best asset.  Pasta cooked al dente,  i am assuming that the noodles are cooked with some herbs.  This makes the pasta flavorful,  i cook my pasta this way,  you can tell the subtle nuances of the flavor.

Truffle Mac and Cheese.  I dont want to go into detail about how awesome this dish is.  I believe I've made my point in my previous review.  This dish makes me wanna rush to the kitchen and kiss the chef. 

Entree.  Chicken,  Beef and Ribeye Steak.  I only tried the beef cooked in white wine and the steak.  First,  i rarely eat beef.  I am more of a chicken eater.  The beef is cooked well, you can taste the white wine. I think they used Chardonnay.  The veggies are crispy - not overcooked.  Yes,  i still ate some of the carrots (despite the fact that I've been eating carrot sticks for 5 days straight).  The ribeye steak,  cooked medium well.  I cant say much about steak but all i know is that it tastes good. 

Just when i thought that they served enough food.  Here comes dessert.  Tiramisu and chocolate cake.  Got one bite of each.  The tiramisu is awesome, not overly sweet, best paired with black coffee.  The chocolate cake is good too.  I think they dipped the cake in rum or something,  i taste subtle flavors of alcohol.  Add alcohol in my dessert and I am a happy camper.

The service.  Impeccable as always.  The wait staff is attentive,  they cater to all of your needs,  be it extra plates,  cutlery and water.  And all of these are done by instinct,  I didn't have to ask.  We got to chat with the owners,  the newly-weds Crystal and David,  they gave us a lil bit of history of their humble beginnings. 

The highlight of the Rendezvous is the handwritten note.  First,  people need to quit using electronic devices once in a while and revive the ancient artform of letter writing.  It is nice to hear that my musings are appreciated. 

Acknowledgement of sorts

I used to think that i suck at prose and can only do free verse.   Who would've thought I can write resto/food reviews? - no one (uhmmm...maybe Grams and close friends - Halo Effect,  one of the Cognitive Biases of the Human Brain).  My first attempt was a couple of months back (July 21, 2015 - Fruili Tratorria).

Sorry,  got a lil sidetracked.  What i am trying to say is that looloo made it easy for me to shake off the plague of writers block.   Writing reviews seemed a little daunting at first,  especially for one who is only accustomed to writing Haiku and free verse poetry (and yes,  i never let anyone read my poems -  like any other thriving poet,  i am terrified of critique) After the first review,  words started to flow like a water - fast and torrential.  This is gonna sound sappy,  melancholic,  a big box of cornflakes but I am gonna go for it anyway. 

Looloo made helped me in finding my voice - the one i lost when i got exploited by the corporate jungle.

Felt nothing but happiness when I got another invite to join the rendezvoos! This time it's sponsored by Mama Lou's Italian Kitchen.

We arrived at the restaurant before 1pm and we were immediately seated. The food came in after a few minutes. It's like they serve everything in the menu!

We were served with fries dredged in meats and gravy, escargots, spaghetti con tuyo filleto, truffle mac and cheese, a penne pasta in red sauce, pizza margherita, fruti de mare and mama lou's special. Wow!

Mama lou's special is still a favorite. Truffle mac and cheese was not as heavy as I initially expected. The spaghetti con tuyo filleto was a revelation to me! Well flavored and the saltiness was not all over the pasta. I felt tiny pinches of salt touching my palate. No wonder its part of the looloo special.

As we start to dig in, we were joined by the welcoming Crystal and hubby David. The guys manning Mama Lou's. We had an interesting talk about the history of the restaurant, how they appreciate every review, taking care of their people and the secret of their awesome service. Even the type of pasta that they use was discussed.

I loved how Mama Lou started. According to Crystal her mom can whip anything from scratch. A very innovative woman in the kitchen. Her father has the gift of taste. It's interesting to know that they don't have a chef in the kicthen. I guess it's the reason why all their food exudes a homey vibe.

I thought the eating part was over when plates of steak and herbed chicken came in! The chicken was a little dry but I enjoyed the butter/lime/chili sauce. The steak was cooked medium well.

We also got to try their chocolate cake and italian tiramisu. Both are worthy of a second try. I was very pleased with the Tiramisu. It's quite rare to taste a decent layers of biscuit, creamy cream cheese with espresso and baileys.

Quality homey dishes and heartfelt customer service are what Mama Lou aims to deliver and they do effortlessly.

Truffle mac and cheese is the best thing that ever happened to food. Creamy, subtle hints of ze most expensive shroom in the planet. This is the best mac and cheese I've ever tasted. I used to think that the one in Wildflour is the best but i was mistaken. This dish takes the friggin crown, the Elvis of mac and cheese. First bite is like receiving a call from Benedict Cumberbatch, a signed copy of The Catcher In The Rye, a tub of vanilla ice cream, Ryan Gosling shirtless. This is the highlight of my day. I wanted to lick my plate clean and savour the creamy goodness.

And the staff is pretty good too. Attentive and friendly, similar to the satff at Red Platter in Naga. You dont have to ask for additional tissue or water, they do it by instinct.

The interior reminds me of old houses in England. There's this movie i saw with Amy Adams and the creepy uncle from Stoker. The place is like a vintage bed and breakfast joint in rural Scotland.

The hype is true, this is the best Italian Resto in the metro. I hope they open a branch in Makati soon.
