Disappointed with my visit to Mama Rosa last night because they did not have sili and tinutong na bigas ice cream. The adobo was good though. I liked the salty sour taste of the sauce with the whole peppercorns. The meat was tender with a bit of crunch because of the chicken adobo flakes that topped the pork. The pako salad mixed with ubod singkamas and pomelo was also good. Actually it was the lemon wasabi dressing that made a lot of difference. The crispy tadyang with balsamic bagoong dip was also ok. Unique dip making the food taste better.

Mama Rosa is not the place to go if you are on diet. Since its a Lenten Friday, we opted to do away with meat; a decision that we did not regret.
For starters we ordered kinilaw na tanigue served in 3 variants, kinilaw with sibuyas and labanos, kinilaw with salted egg and the kinilaw with green mango in gata. The first variant was sour and spicy , the second salty and the third was milky sweet. All of it were good.
For our main course we had sinaing na tulingan which came with kamias / bagoong dip, and the ginataang sigarilyas. Tasting it brought back happy memories of my childhood in the province. The food looked so carenderia but the taste was awesome that I had to order extra rice.
We ended our meal with the famous sili and tinutong na bigas ice cream imported all the way from Legaspi City. It was such a pleasant surprise because I no longer have to travel far to eat one of the must trys of Albay.
One of the best lunches I have had lately.

Homey, relaxed vibe, not too busy, and friendly staff. And the food! I love their Pinangat and Crispy Tinadyang. Kalabasa soup was also good. ️ overall, a good dining experience for people already tired of their usual Kapitolyo hangout.
