Seafood kare kare, ensaladang mangga, kanin (obviously), and beef and oxtail kaldereta in photo.

Didn't like any of the dishes.

Seafood kare kare sauce tasted like peanut butter. The seafood didn't taste fresh. And both didn't sit together well.

Ensaladang mangga was too maasim.

The saltiness and maasim-ness (whaaat is the english term!) of oxtail kaldereta were too overpowering.

Even the rice was too dry for me.

And the dishes were on the pricey side. I was expecting to be wowed but well, I left still hungry because I couldn't take the food.

Ate here during big sis' last night before going back to SG. Really great food. The kare-kare and sisig and lechon kawali paksiw were all delicious. But my favorite was the mango pomelo sago shake. I can drink this forever 128523128523128523 service was too slow and they only asked me to move to another table when their manager left the other table she was occupying giving me an excuse that water was dripping from the ceiling.

You will always go back to Filipino food when the times of sudden indecisiveness of your friends on where and what to eat arise. And it has always been a great solution to our hungry appetites! Craving for a sour sinigang, or sizzling sisig, or inihaw na liempo, bangus, manok, name it, must all be satisfied.

Such was our experience when my friends went to Ayala Fairview Terraces then to watch 10 Cloverfield Lane. We couldn't decide where to eat - so we settled for Filipino food - with a twist - Manam!

They don't offer platters or group meals so you just have to choose between small medium and large for the size of the serving. Almost all we ordered were medium because we were only 3 that time. So here goes:

BAGOONG RICE - nothing beats fried rice in bagoong topped with green mangoes. Perfect for the sinigang and the sisig!

HOUSE CRISPY SISIG - very malinamnam! Not oily for a sisig, super tasty and crispy! 5 stars for this!

GRILLED TIGER PRAWNS - loved every piece of it, and I made sure I cleaned the shell of the prawn meat! Prawns were big enough. Top 'em all up with crab fat, indescribable goodness!

BEEF SINIGANG IN WATERMELON - I just died. This has been the bestest best sinigang I have ever tried in my entire life. Forgive me for over reacting, but really, I definitely and highly recommend this to you! The super sour ofthe sinigang battles the sweetness of the watermelon and once you taste it, the battle of those strong flavors continue in your tastebuds! I couldn't stop being a glutton over the remaining soup even though I was full because it was incredibly delicious! Never thought this could be possible. I am definitely going back here!

So yes, 5 stars and more!!!

We celebrated mother's day at manam terraces..
Actually it's not our first time here. We also celebrated mothers day here last year.
I love their interior, its like you're just at home. That kind of feel.
Plus the crew and the manager are so accomodating.. kudos!

We ordered;
-Sinigang na Salmon head sa japanese miso at guyabano
-Kare-kare with oxtail
-Sizzling tokwa't liempo teppan

As always the food is awesome...

Will definitely keep coming back..

I like the interior of this place - clean and maaliwalas.

We ordered the following:

Strawberry+Camias shake - this is good. You can't really tell that there's camias.
Lemongrass+ginger - refreshing and good according to my friend.
Crispy sisig medium - it's crispy yes but there's something missing. I don't know basta para wala yung lasa ng sisig 128513
Kare-Kare oxtail medium - not all oxtail, they mixed it with tuwalya so they are not true to their word hehe. This one is so-so for me.
Inihaw na pusit na binusog sa crab at chorizo - this one is the best! 128523 Pusit is soft and the filling (crab and chorizo) is creamy. You can't really tell that there is chorizo - and thanks for that coz I don't like it much.

I will come back for the pusit 128521

Total bill P1,500 for 3 hungry people (including service charge). Pwede na kasi good for 5-6 pax yung order namin. 128516

Late review:

It's Chinese New Year today, so I decided to treat my family in one of my favorite Filipino restaurants 128513 Since I tasted the Sinigang na Beef Short Rib with Watermelon, I couldn't wait to have my family taste this amazing dish. Apart from this, we also ordered medium House Crispy Sisig, a small serving of Laing and a Large serving of plain rice. The rice was good for 6 people, mind you. But the fact that we finished everything was testament to how good everything was!128563128077🏼

Service was great (but hopefully it's not because there was barely any customer 128522). The staff was all smiles and was very attentive. Total bill was less than PHP1,000, a small price to pay for the superb dining experience 128522

First encounter with this resto was last Mother's day. We also ate their two nights ago. Decor? Simple elegance. 9786

This resto serves Filipino dishes (with or without a twist). We ordered their Sinigang na Short Ribs with Watermelon. Sweet and sour it is! Yummmyy because it has watermelon bits. We also ordered: Binukadkad na Tilapia, University Fried Rice, Kalderetang Oxtail and Lengua. Very generous in terms of servings.. You can choose if you want the viand good for how many persons. Price? Very reasonable and so worth itttt!!!

We arrived late for my husband's birthday dinner, so I wasn't able to take pictures. Overall, the food was surprisingly good!

I didn't have any expectations going in and was not aware of what kind of food they served. Filipino dishes that had different takes. I think I ate too much in front of my in-laws.

We got to eat the Sinigang with watermelon, Fried Tilapia with buro, Gising-gising, Spareribs, Tuna belly sisig and binagoongang rice. I really liked them all! 128077

In fact, I would want to trek over there again for another meal.

Love that their menu has every twist to a normal dish 128077 Plus their dishes come in small, medium or large sizes. Their medium sizes are good enough for the four of us. (With take-out pa) 128516

Their famous sinigang with watermelon is a must-try. Will try to make one as well, haha!

Love to try out their other dishes next time!

What could have made this visit better?
The FOOD.

We've ordered an obviously frozen-refrozen tilapia, and the meat was, well, awful.
Also got a pinakbet, and it was the sweetest and unsatisfying pinakbet we've ever tried, my partner even remembered that the karinderia near our home served it better.
Sisig was okay, but not notable, I even almost forgot we had it.

2 stars for the garlic rice, it is what it is, and also for the free soup and location.

But, it would be rude not to give them another chance, maybe we'll try something different next time, who knows, they might have a redeemer-dish somewhere in that menu.

Ok thanks to Manam, I realized how I prefer my Filipino food without any kind of twist.

They're known for their Sinigang with Watermelon thing so we tried it right... I took a sip and said "ANG LABO!!" as I shoved my bowl of soup to my dad who seemed to like it (found out later that he actually didn't and that he was just finishing it kasi sayang daw hahah). It was so weird. It was sinigang sour but it was also sweet??? I did not get it. At all.

What I did like was their Garlicky Chicken Adobo. Loved the chicken skin and the garlicky-ness of it. I also appreciated how you can choose to have small, medium or large portions of their dishes. The place also wasn't that bad. It was actually kind of cozy. 9786

My parents didn't like it here and said they won't ever come back, which made sad because I was the one who suggested the place (because of its good reviews here on looloo). Looloo has failed me and that has led to me failing my parents (for lunch). LOL.

Filipino Moderne at its... Weirdest. I placed my order and while waiting, I couldn't help but doubt if I wrongfully ordered lunch meals when the place clearly suggests cakes and coffee. Something about its branding and interiors suggest that Manam is different from all the other Filipino Moderne restaurants you've tried, and well, I kind of agree.

I haven't been this challenged by a Filipino Moderne restaurant before. If you like your Pinoy food just the way it is, Manam is not for you. They don't just enhance the flavor of our popular dishes, they add to it (therefore changing some). They're tasty, but a voice at the back of my head is saying "You do not do this to Pinakbet!" Anyway, none of our stomachs hurt after eating so it's all good for me and Manam. I might actually come back and try their more popular dishes.

We ordered Bagoong Rice (there barely was bagoong), University Rice (too sweet! Like Rufo's tapa was in it), Pakbet (my mood was more bitter than the ampalaya), Crispy Pork (fave), and Pancit Canton (too Asian).

Waiting time usually takes 15-20mins so best if everyone shuts up for a while after settling and gets straight to the orders.

One of those restaurants that are underhyped. I swear, this place really surprised me. Their beef and watermelon sinigang is to die for. I love how they also provide small servings! Service is also pretty good. quality food + affordability= things that I look for in a restaurant and they just hit it in every way possible! Definitely worth coming back!

Manam was Namnam before I asked the waiter why they changed the store name. She said it was because there is a resto using the same name.. Anyway we celebrated fathers day here in manam. We ordered my fave sinigang watermelon. The shortrib was so soft and the soup was so delicious. We also tried their stuffed squid. Their version is stuffed with crabmeat. Perfect! For the peking chicken it was a little salty. The gising gising was good. Bulalo steak was a little tangy. Overall definitely comeback and love the idea that they have a small medium large size for their meal. For the rice also try their unversity rice. Tapa rice with egg on top.
