Because Tinapa Rice is love. And authentic Kapampangan sisig is malasado (not in a sizzling plate) and does not have egg and/or mayonnaise.

At napaka sarap ng ampalaya dito, walang pait.

Ang mura pa! 575PHP for the lot. Puwede pang 3 people. Kung di pa kayo masyado malakas kumain, 4.

Mangan Restaurant serves traditional Filipino cuisine. No frill and fancy fushion twists that every restaurant seems to be doing these days. They transferred from Glorietta 5 to their current location at Glorietta 2 on the second level overlooking the activity center. The space is adorned in turquiose colored walls filled with wood ornaments and mirrors. Since its the nearing Christmas they have parols hanging as part of the decor.

We arrived during lunch hour, there was no proper queue. One must signal and make sure the servers see you by the door. After a quick clean up we opted by the coach area since we have two kids in tow. Service was quick. We ordered what the kids would like which is the Sinigang na Babi and Bistig Bangus Belly. And for us, the Lagat Ampalaya, which is ginisang ampalaya with minced pork and scrambled eggs. Food is simple. Delicious and unpretentious. The Sinigang was made sour by the sampaloc and thickened by the gabi. The dish was just right. The serving was enough for our group of 3 adults and 2 kids. The bangus was equally good but the serving was very small. 4 small cuts with barely any belly in it. The ampalaya reminds me of my Mom's sauteed ampalaya dish.

For dessert we had their Bibingka with Salted Egg. By far, the best tasting Bibingka from a restaurant according to my Mom. Reminds her of Ferino's. The texture of the bibingka is reminiscent of those sold during the 80's. The egg and queso de bola added more flavor to the soft rice cake.

Senior cards honored. Recommended.

Service was horrible and took 40 minutes. Food was okay but servings were meager for the price.

Choosing where to eat with a bunch of friends or officemates was never an easy task to do. Things should be considered such as what type of food are you going to eat, where are you going to eat and of course the hardest part is agreeing on the budget.

Me and my officemates (including my Mi Amore) choose Mangan Restaurant at Glorrieta Makati to have dinner and a little bit of work discussion last May 30, 2016. It was suggested by one of my officemates because we are all craving for a traditional Filipino food. We are all stressed at work (and personal life), so we want to eat somewhere with a good ambiance, good food and a good service with a great value of money.

When we entered Mangan Restaurant the ambiance was great. It's not a typical Filipino Restaurant with a typical Filipino ambiance. If I don't know that Mangan offers traditional kapangpangan food, I will think that it's an international restaurant. It has a modern design that is pleasant in the eyes.

Here's what we ordered:

Kare Kare Buntot ng Baka: Php 360.00
Sisig ni Mely: Php 260.00
Inihaw Pyesta: Php 890.00
Sinigang sa Miso Salmon Belly: Php 280.00
7 Plain Rice

Food serving was fast. It only takes 15 to 20 minutes or maybe because on that time they only have few customers. Everything we ordered was good except that some are not good for sharing (upto 7 persons). I really like the Kare Kare Buntot ng Baka plus the Bagoong. I don't usually eat kare kare even in Fiesta because since I was a child I didn't like how it taste and it's smell. There are only few restaurants that I want to eat kare kare and Mangan is now surely one of them. One of my officemate was allergic to seafoods but she can't help eating the bagoong. She even asked for a refill.

Sisig ni Mely was not as good as the kare kare but it was okay. We expected it to be served in a sizzling plate but it was served in a plate covered in banana leaf. It was also not good for sharing. It's also not that tasty.

lnihaw Pyesta comes with liempo, tilapia, shirmp, tahong and chicken. Nothing special about it. It's your typical inihaw seafood - meat set.

Sinigang sa Miso salmon belly was also good. The only downside is that it only have a few vegetables and most of the serving comes with salmon bones. Only few salmon meat that's why it's not good for sharing. Some of us only ate the sinigang without the salmon.

In terms of customer satisfaction, the staffs were not providing a consistent good service. When we are outside the restaurant and checking for menu, no one entertained or even greeted us which feels odd since most of the restaurant I know have that kind of service. However, they are polite and kind when they were taking our orders.

In terms of price, I think this is a good place to eat if you want somewhere with a class but you don't want to spend too much.

It was nice experience eating at Mangan Restaurant. Overall, I will give it 3 star. I will surely recommend this to my friends and next time if we're gonna have team lunchout, it will definitely be included in the choices

Spent the whole day with the in laws to celebrate the nieces' moving up day/graduation. We had errands in Glorietta and decided to have early dinner at Mangan before anything else.

On the table
🔹Pinakbet - extremely good. I kept on eating the sauce and bagoong bits. It tasted so different, as if it were grilled. There was a certain smokiness to the dish.
🔹Fried Tawilis - sad looking and they were sort of disintegrating when we were taking them off the stick. The in laws loved the burong mangga that were served with the fish.
🔹Crispy Pata - nothing special. It was hard to chew and the sauce was just ok. It wasn't worth the hefty price tag.
🔹Okoy - crunchy and sweet. Pouring vinegar over it made it better. Wish the shrimps didn't have shells anymore.
🔹Sinigang na Hipon sa Camias - the shrimps were great. Not a fan of the sourness, the flavor and the after taste of the broth.
🔹Tinapa Rice - our fave for the night. I could eat this even without ulam. Well that and Pinakbet Sauce hahaha. it was very smoky and the tinapa flavor was really there.
🔹Puto Bumbong - ordered this because the little girl wanted some. It was very sticky and challenging to cut. The little girl ate most of the sugar. The in laws said this had a kakanin feel.

They could improve on their service. The utensils weren't complete when we were seated. We asked for dessert plates and extra utensils twice but they arrived when we were almost done with the puto bumbong.

I would love to come back for the Tinapa Rice and Pinakbet!

Ordered for Seafood Fiesta Platter, Crispy Pata and Tinapa Rice. These would be enough for a budget-friendly feast. Not to mention Mangan's free Puto Bumbong for every 500-peso purchase using their gift certificate as mode of payment.

A bulalo lover officemate invited us for lunch here at Mangan. We have no reason to refuse - where else could we get hot bulalo in this part of town? I had been craving for hot soup all morning.

So we had one order of bulalo, which already serves 3-4 peeps, and also got one order of inihaw na bangus and pinakbet to match.

Sulit si pinakbet, with generous cuts of ampalaya, okra and talong. The bagoong was exceptionally good. The inihaw na bangus didn't do justice as it was quite small from what we expected. Taste is quite ok but a tad bigger bangus would be more delighful. I do wish we ordered that delectable puto bungbong instead (forgive me for sourgraping from the small bangus).

It was good that service improved from our last visit - food came fast actually, and our bill was immediate served upon request.

Still missing that puto bungbong...

Still one of my favorite Filipino restos! I noticed their serving size got smaller. But their food is still good.

Adobong baby pusit and tortang dulong with pork giniling are my favorites dishes. I'm not fond of eating kare kare, but it was also good.

We didn't like their puto bumbong. It was too sticky that it was almost like sapin sapin / palitaw.

I still like it here, but I won't order their puto bumbong next time.

My favorite pinoy dessert ! Leche flan here is so good! It's rich and creamy. Not having that "jelly" texture! 128522 A must try! 128077

Finally -- a dinner with mom's business partner and family friend! They've been planning this for a while now but since we lived at opposite poles of Metro Manila, it was so hard to schedule a time and place.

We met at Glorietta and looked for places to eat. I've been a fan of Mangan since I was younger so I think it was time to try it again. We ordered tinapa rice, bangus bistek, lagat ampalaya, sinigang, and the bibingka sampler. They were all good! 128522 All their fruit shakes tasted good too!

Four stars only though for the kinda slow service. The servers were still helpful!

Loved the Pritong Paborito Platter!

Been wanting to visit this resto for some time so it was a good thing my friends got together one Saturday lunch. A major factor we chose this place was that it was the only one which had a big enough table to seat us (7 adults and 2 kids).

We ordered Sinigang na Babi sa Sampalok, Kare Kare and the Pritong Paborito Platter plus 3 kinds of rice (Plain, Tinapa and Salted Egg with tomatoes). For drinks, we had Gulaman at Sago, unlimited iced tea and the ginger hot tea (refreshing altho a bit strong).

The food: delicious and comforting. Just like home.

The service: wait staff were attentive for the most part altho we had to catch their attention sometimes to get refills for our iced tea and water.

The price: worth the taste.

This is one resto to come back to for good old pinoy food. Must visit again to try the other dishes!

My friend and I had our dinner here last Friday night after my recuperation. My doctor told me not to eat fatty foods yet, so I tried to avoid those by getting Boneless bangus bistek, Kare-kare & Tinapa rice.

While waiting for our food, the server gave us a plate of potato strings as a complimentary dish. This simply reminds me of Pik-nik, but was obviously crispy and thinner.

Our orders were served not more than 20 minutes. Everything we had was good especially the Kare-kare. Meat was tender and was cooked just right; same with the veggies, but its serving was very few especially the pechay. Healthy living eh! 128514

The service was great and their place looks nice to me.

Visiting Mangan for lunch, we tried out their Inihaw pyesta, bulalo and tinapa rice. No kamote fritters yet. The waiter was very kind to inform us as we arrived that the kamote fritters are still being prepared. Our orders arrived in around 20 minutes. We didn't have to wait long as each dish came one after the other.

The inihaw pyesta platter was smaller in perception as compared to the sumptuous photo in the menu. Despite its "medium" size, the bangus was marvelous, and so are the shrimps and tahong. The platter is a sure hit but I do think it can only feed 4 hungry peeps, not really 6, as stated in the menu. The platter also came with its own special vinegar dip and signature buro side dish.

Our bulalo this time wasn't so oily, comparing this to our last visit. The beef was really good and you can just savor the freshness from the broth.

I had much expectations with Mangan's tinapa rice and couldn't help but compare it with Kanin Club's. While Mangan's tinapa rice is really good and meaty, Kanin Club's version of the tinapa rice is more on the salty side, which is my own preference for tinapa.

What we had last (pahabol na appetizer) was their kamote fritters - served fresh from the frying pan indeed, at it was very hot and still oily.

At around P300 per person, I do think our lunch was still a little pricey and bitin, if I may say.

Average nothing special.

Ambiance - not your typical Filipino restaurant

Service - was ok

Food
Free fried kamote strings - addicting to nimble
Bottomless brewed Iced tea - keep me coming
Lengua - it's just your plain ox tongue
Liempo - a little bit touch
Tofu Sisig - not bad but not great
Chicken pork adobo - ugly presentation, taste like paksiw

It was kinda embarrassing because our table was too noisy 128584128584128584
