I was invited for another Looloo Rendezvoos for Manganen Bagnet House in Lilac, Marikina. Thanks Peanut and Roegan for the invite.

Manganen Bagnet House is a restaurant that caters Ilocandia food. The famous of them all is the mouthwatering bagnet with different kinds of dishes you can make from it. Aside from that, there are also known Northern Luzon cuisine like Poqui-poqui, Dinakdakan and Tuguegarao Longganisa.

In less than 1 hour ride from Commonwealth Avenue you will reached Manganen Bagnet House. The place can accommodate at least 20 customers, inside. The interior is like the houses in Ilocos during Hispanic era using woods and capiz.

"Affordable solo meal. The Vigan bagnet alone was so mouthwatering. It's crispy and flavorful. The salted egg and ensalada compliments with the rice and Vigan bagnet."

"All your Ilocano favorites in one bilao. I like the garlicky flavor of the Tuguegarao Longganisa especially adding some vinegar on it. I love Poqui-poqui, it's very good with the Vigan bagnet. The sisig of the north called "Dinakdakan" taste like sisig. Yes! It is! Pramis!"

If you're searching for the perfect bagnet and other Ilocos favorites, Manganen is where you'd wanna be. Loved their Vigan bagnet, longga, poqui poqui and binagoongan.

Also, their drinks and desserts go well with the over all food theme. I loved the Benguet brew coffee, leche flan and calamansi juice! 128076

Thank you Peanut D Roegan T of looloo and Manganen Bagnet House for having me celebrate with your anniversary special.

It's almost independence day and it's just right to indulge in filipino food-- also just about time to celebrate their first year anniversary of Manganen Bagnet House. Located at Marikina, this restaurant is unique in its area, they get their bagnet from Ilocos for us to enjoy.

The Ilocano word "Manganen" means that the food is set, ready to be enjoyed, let's eat... it's somehow similar to the Japanese phrase "itadakimasu" before eating. Manganen would love to bring us Ilocano classics to our dining table and just enjoy the company of our friends or family. Their place really supports this kind of ambience as it's designed with classic wooden tables and chairs. The place could accommodate around 30 pax at most.

Shiela, one of the owners, explained to us that in Vigan, they sell the pig parts as is, they do not cut off the lean meat from the fat portions. This is the original bagnet they are offering us. The dish is highly fatty but really good! It's best eaten with the Ilocano vinegar that tastes like pinakurat.

128204128525Balai Bagnet @158PhP
This bagnet is the one that we are used to eat here in manila, it's usually contains lean meat with a small portion of fat and skin. This one is "healthier" and as we are accustomed here in Manila, the "Mang Tomas" Sarsa is a good choice of dip.

128204128525 Kare kare @188PhP
With pride, this is their bestseller, because the peanut sauce is homemade and does taste real nutty. I loved it so much I could have two orders of rice to go with it.

128204 Binagoongan @188PhP
Bagnet with slices of eggplant smothered in shrimp paste. I find it too oily hence i could not recommend it so much, but taste wise, if you like shrimp paste, you'll enjoy this.

Good for 4-6 pax, this is their anniversary additional to their menu (lasts for a month). It contains
128073🏻 Vigan bagnet
128073🏻 poqui-poqui
128073🏻 dinkdakan or the Ilocano Sisig
128073🏻 Tugeugarao Longganisa or Garlic Longganisa
128073🏻 big serving of rice

128204Leche Flan
You will have to try their leche flan. It's not uber sweet. It's a little firm when it comes to its consistency with granules of brown sugar on top as added texture

Best served when warm. It got a margarine on top. It's a little less milky and sweet. Honestly i am not accustomed to eating this kind of ube. I still like Good Shepherd's from Baguio

128204128525 Benguet Brew
Speaking of Baguio, they get their coffee beans from Benguet. I find it really good when taken without sugar or cream. I love the bitter kick!

The anniversary promo is not yet over:
They have their PISO bagnet meal happening on June 15-17, 2017 for every minimum spent of PhP500, get a Bagnet meal for only PhP1. (PhP1000 for two PhP1 Bagnet meal) Promo is not valid in junction with other discounts (senior citizens, PWD, etc)

Parking space here is limited to 4 slots, and the don't worry about flood, because Manganen is not prone to it.

Manganen will be worth your visit because it's the only Ilocano restaurant in Metro Manila that can serve you authentic Ilocano dishes.

Our 17th wedding dinner celebration, Manganen Bagnet House located at 116 Lilac St. Concepcion Dos Marikina. Addition to the growing list of a must try food place in Lilac, my beloved city Marikina!

Since Oct 26 , our 17th wedding anniversary falls on a weekday and kids still have class the following day so I decided to look a place near us. Manganen is the perfect place as it was just a new restaurant in Lilac and offers a delicious Bagnet which I totally loved eating and makes us reminisce of our last trip in Ilocos, the home of Bagnet.

I had a reservation here for our anniversary dinner. We didn't have a hard time finding it as I was familiar with Lilac. Glad we're the first to arrived that evening.

We got four sets of their Balai Bagmet! For only 159 pesos we were able to taste that crunchy Bagnet served with salted egg , tomatoes and rice , they are unli rice and iced tea! Winner talaga! They also have vigan Bagnet meal and spicy Bagmet meal .

Then we tried their famous kare-kareng Bagnet! You should try this one too. So affordable, around 200 pesos only.

Got dessert we had their generous serving leche flan plus the owner gave us free ube halaya as anniversary gift. The owner was from Ilocos too, kababayan, they were very hands on and accommodating!

I highly recommend this one, our 17th wedding dinner anniversary celebrations was Bagnetified!

Looking for a place that makes its own perfect bagnet? Try mangaen!

The owners said that the food here isnt traditional ilokano, but inspired by its cuisine. They make their own bagnet and incorporate it in dishes like kare-kare, bicol express, and even dinakdakan.

I liked all the dishes i tried here, but the dinakdakan was my favourite! All the ingredients blended together into one savoury dish.

Their sinigang was also worth a mention. The soup was really sour; just the way i like it.

Overall, i was pleasantly surprised to have liked my visit. Their food is tops, and the place is beautiful.

I was ridiculously excited to have a legit bagnet place near our house. So, we tried it while it was on soft opening a while back.

My husband got their regular bagnet and I ordered the spicy bagnet (pictured here). Definitely did not disappoint!

Place is quaint and not too hard to find actually. Parking can be a concern in the area but still quite accessible.
