I had a meeting during the 12-1 lunch break so I ended up eating by myself one Friday. 128514 I didn't know where to go or what to eat but after the |ooloo rendezvoos at COCA the previous day, I felt like eating some pad thai.

I have a favorite place for pad thai but it's currently undergoing renovations so I couldn't visit. 128532 So I tried Mango Tree's pad thai instead since I haven't gotten around to trying it.

The pad thai was saucy but it wasn't the sauce that I preferred. This one was a bit sour and I'm not a huge fan of sourness. 128514 Overall, it was still great and filling. 128077🏼 Just not enough to top my fave. 128540

I loved the Thai ice tea though. It's basically milk tea. 128514 With tons of ice. Hahahaha! But still really good. I'd suggest letting the ice melt cos it's a bit sweet.

Nice place to dine if you are craving for Thai cuisine.

The tom yum was my wife's favorite. It had that extra kick of spicy and a strong ginger flavor. Good for those suffering from cough and cold. I also liked the stir fried kangkong. Crunchy with a nice garlic flavor. The grilled pork has a good smoky flavor which complements the sweet taste of the sauce. The bagoong rice was just right not to strong with the sweetness of the pineapple that enhanced the taste. I also loved the catfish salad. The crunchy flakes was served separately from the green mango and vinegar dressing giving you the option to adjust the flavor to your pwn liking.

🇨🇷 Cuisine is 128525. (An early 128221, this review is a bit lengthy as we ordered a number of dishes) 9786

I've been to Mango TreeCafe and I want to try Mango Tree Bistro to see if there would be a difference.

I was with friends during my first visit here so we got a number of dishes as we brought a big appetite with us! 128513

We got the following:

Penang Curry (beef) - I'm not really a fan of curry dishes but of course I need to try it as well and compare it with the other curries I tasted in the past. Presentation of the food is simple, but the pungent smell of curry entices your tastebuds to try it. As I got a spoon full of serving, I can say that it's really a legit curry dish, taste was right, it was not to creamy (as some curry dishes tasted in the past is overpowered by the coconut milk) , a touch of sweetness and heat . Getting thoughts from my friends, they enjoyed the dish. Although, I found the beef to be slightly tough or over cooked. Overall, it was a good dish and I will give 110881108811088️ for this.

Gai Tha Krai Yang (grilled chicken) - this dish is 128525128525128525. From the presentation down to the taste, this dish is 128077🏻128077🏻! Considering it's grilled, the meat is so tender and moist that your fork can cut into the meat smoothly and effortlessly,. The chicken was packed with flavors and I liked the idea of using lemon grass stalks as skewers giving it an added layer of flavor to the dish. The Thai dipping sauce (a bit tangy with hints of sweetness and a kick of heat) compliments well with the chicken, giving it another dimension of flavor. For me, this dish is a 11088110881108811088️1/2 stars!

See Krong Moo Yang Nam Phung (grilled pork spareribs) - presentation wise it looks really good. It tastes 128076🏼 for me. The meat was not cooked perfectly. As it's ribs, I expected it to fall off the bone but it didn't as I need to use a knife to get a piece of meat. The crust of the meat was a bit tough (probably from the honey glaze) and it lacks moistness. My friends loved it but for me, flavor wise its 128528, I feel like it's a bit sweet for my taste considering this is a savory dish. (As you know from my past reviews, I have a sweet tooth). For this dish it's just a 1108811088️1/2 starts for me.

Phad Thai (shrimp) - presentation wise it looks very nice and appetizing. Tatse wise it's good however this is the first time that I encountered a Pad Thai dish which seems to have a touch of sauce (like eating pasta with sauce) as compared to the other Pad Thai I had tried here and back in BKK which is a bit dry. Not so sure if its an error in cooking or they presented a twist with the Pad Thai as they have some fusion dishes such as the Tom Yum Spaghetti or if other regions in Thailand cook their Pad Thai like that. Just to make a point, comparing it to our local noodles were used to eating Pancit Bihon which is dry and Pancit Palabok which has a base sauce. Despite that, I still enjoyed and taste wise it's 128076🏼. For me, it' a 110881108811088️.

Fried Rice (vegetable) - Of course, no meal is complete if there is no 127834. As we ordered a number of dishes already, we just got the Vegetable Fried Rice (It also comes with other variety like chicken or shrimp) and veered away from the usual Khao Klook Kapi (Bagoong Rice) or Pineapple Rice. Serving portion is just right. I was just expecting that this would be fried rice with just bits and pieces of peas, carrots, cabbage, etc...but I was surprised as there were lots of veggies mixed in it, if you can see the picture, it's like there is a vegetable party in this dish. I like to eat piping hot 127834, however, the temperature of the rice for me is just a bit warm only. This is a 110881108811088️ for me.

With everything that we ordered, all of us feels like there is no room for dessert, but of course, knowing me, a meal wouldn't be complete without dessert. 128513 I made reservation via the B**** app, not just we got a 300 off discount from our total bill, but we also got a free dessert! 128561 I was suppose to get the Stciky Rice with Mango and my other friend wants the Mango Cheesecake, however our tummy is reaching it's full capacity from all the food that we ate so we just decided not to order an additional dessert and just partake on the free dessert. Which is, Coconut Ice Cream!

Coconut Ice Cream - taking a look at the Ice Cream it's like you will be expecting the our typical Macapuno Ice Cream just because I thought it's just free. But the simplicity of presentation was a surprise. As I got my first spoonful, a pop of flavors partied in my mouth. 128523 The creaminess of the coconut was just right balancing it with a bit of sweetness ➕ bits of Macapuno and desiccated coconut. Not bad for a freebie! 128513 this ice cream is a 11088110881108811088️ for me.

Service was good, the person who greeted us down to the waiters, were all pleasant. Our server was attentive and accommodating. He even gave is some suggestions and explained the menu, if and when we have any questions. Food service was 127939🏻. As we ordered a number of dishes, we were expecting for it to take long but it didn't and orders were coming in simultaneously. For this visit, it's a 11088110881108811088️.

Overall, my first dining experience here at Mango Tree Bistro is 128522. From the food down to service, I should say it's a 11088110881108811088️ for this instance.

Just a 128221, if ever you have tried Mango Tree Cafe at BGC, there are some dishes and drinks not available here at Mango Tree Bistro.

Note: This is for the BGC Branch

Who among you remembers Oodys?  The Thai resto across Bubba Gump in Greenbelt 3.  Why the question,  Oodys introduced me to the wonderful world of Thai Cuisine.  They enabled my Pad Thai addiction,  my Tom Yum delusions and  my mango x sticky rice compulsions.

Anyway,  it's hard for someone who lives in Makati to look for cheap and tasty pad thai (Krung Thai is too far and Soms is under new management,  food is not as good a before) That is why free lunch from the big players at work is always a good idea.  They always ask me for restaurant recommendations,  i blurted out Mango Tree Bistro!

This is the upscale Thai restaurant in BGC Central.  The interior is really posh,  i thought of The Coconut Palace upon entrace.  Dont ask why?  Memory Bias of sorts.  The place is well designed,  modern furniture and earth tones.  This is common in restaurants,  in my opinion.  Maybe the color of the walls make you eat more or something.  Remind me to do an extensive research about the correlation of color vs appetite.

They ordered a shitload of food - meat,  soup,  salad,  fish,  veggies.  I,  on the other hand stuck with the classic - Pad Thai.  I was really satisfied with the Mango Tree version as it is worth every dime.  The dish is oozing with flavors,  rice noodles cooked al dente,  fresh bean sprouts,  the sauce they used is out-of-this-world delicious.  All of the key elements of the classic Pad Thai is on my plate.  And it is the prettiest plate I've ever seen,  you would know that the dish is appetizing at first glance.

Pad Thai junkies!  Hear ye! Hear ye!  Head on to Mango Tree for a taste of jaw-dropping,  euphoria-inducing Pad Thai.

The "Thai Liempo" was so good! The sweet-spicy dipping sauce with the sweet rub were perfect with fragrant rice.

The penang curry was "ok". Too sweet. I wouldve liked the flavour to be more concentrated and spicy.

Thai iced tea... Didnt like this one 128517 i mistook the thai iced tea for the lemongrass one. Woops.

Good service and good food overall.

For the price you pay, you don't get very much. We were expecting a bit more considering its other fort branch is so fancy schmancy and its first location in greenbelt 5 was also very good. But in this new greenbelt 3 location, it's just okay.

The food is the same, taste is good but not spectacular. Pomelo salad had three measly pieces of shrimp. Bagoong rice was okay. Red curry chicken tasted slightly like kare kare (a good thing for us) and had a nice flavor but lacked sauce. What's a thai curry without sauce?

The interior we liked, roomy and had that nice long couch and comfortable booths. But the air freshener they use is a little too overpowering and is reminiscent of a spa. It doesn't whet the appetite. If I go back I'll try their other food and maybe sit outside to people watch and avoid the weird smell.

It's been a while since my last post.
I could say that I chose the right resto for today's lunch!

150-peso pad thai jay was so worth it!!! One of the best pad thai's I've had.

280-peso 4 piece buffalo wings, was by far the best buffalo wings (well, it suited my taste) so far! Tangy, sweet chili flavor which really tickles one's taste buds! Must try if you go here!

They should have a wind curtain to block the small insects that enter.

Overall Rating 9

Ambiance- 10

Highly recommended!!

All the restaurants were packed except for this restaurant so we went inside, not knowing it was a Thai restaurant! I've recently loved Thai food so I was really excited. I was only in for a light dinner. The original names are tongue twister! Haha but we ordered Shrimp Cakes, the Tenderloin, the Prawn Fried Rice and the Morning Glory.

Everything was so good! The Shrimp Cakes were moist, but I expected the sauce to be better than the Jufran Sweet Chili Sauce! 128514

The Tenderloin was divine! I don't have a problem with medium-rare meat, so it was 128076

The Morning Glory had a little spice to it, which I liked, because what's Thai without a little spice? 128523

The service was really good- thy suggested food to order, and they even checked up on us if we liked the food!

Luckily, my aunt knew the owner so we availed a 10% discount on our meal. Hihi 128523128518

I will definitely come back!

Did I already mention that I love Thai cuisine? 128517

Anyway, I had my officemate pick out a resto from the list I gave her and to my delight, it's Thai!

Been craving for Thai tea for so long that I insistedly ordered a glass immediately! Haha! 128518 We shared over a plate of Pad Thai and Spring Rolls plus a salad of Phla Salmon. Overall damage was around P300 per head.

Too bad I can't fit in a bowl of Tom Yum and other of my Thai favorites. But at least I got to order the essentials, hehe! 128077 The Pad Thai was better than Black Canyon's though I suppose Som's and Chariya's are still better. People Palace's is okay too but kind of pricey.

As for the Phla Salmon, I love salmon, no doubt about it. With a vinaigrette-type of salad, it goes well with the sweetness of my Thai tea. Perfect! Can't wait to try the authentic version in BKK! 128076 The Spring Rolls were just average for me though.

I'm not sure if my tastebuds were not right, or the preps in this branch.. Don't get me wrong, I liked it here, definitely. Ambiance was ok, customer service was impeccable as there were few tables being attended to, plus one star for a peaceful lunch. But I still prefer Trinoma's branch with bigger space & more bistro vibe. Nonetheless, 4 stars from me! 128513

I can say that nothing has changed when it comes to their food quality but it didn't 'wow' me anymore since this is my second visit. Also because I didn't try something new and thought that Pad Thai and shrimp cakes will still be okay for me. There was that 'umay' factor. My cousins ordered the pork which I didn't eat...(❌128055) and the Green Curry Chicken which tasted like the Filipino-style chicken curry. Maybe I'll try others next time. I still recommend this for those who haven't tried it.

We were scheduled to watch Thor at 6:25 pm at Greenbelt 1, so we decided to have an early dinner to avoid getting hungry mid-movie. I was choosing between this and Mr. Jones, but chose this instead for the light meals. We ordered following:

1. Pomelo salad with roasted grated coconut and fresh shrimp (yum som o goong);

2. Grilled pork spare ribs with honey (see krong moo yang nam phung);

3. Thai stir-fried rice noodles with mixed vegetables and tofu (pad thai jay);

4. Bagoong rice (khao klook kapi); and

5. Coconut custard with sweet corn (tako khao phod).

I loved the coconut custard with sweet corn. I've been craving for this for quite some time now. This light and slightly sweet gelatinous dessert definitely hit the spot.

Sadly, the same can't be said for the rest of our order. We had to send back the beautiful plate of grilled pork spare ribs with honey after one bite because it stunk really bad. Manager said that it was the marinade but offered to take it out of our bill. The pad thai was swimming in sauce, and the bagoong rice too oily. The pomelo salad was actually just ok, but paled in comparison to People Palace's.

Fortunately, they've got excellent customer service. I told them we were trying to catch a movie and we only had an hour to eat. Food came really fast and the manager readily addressed our concerns. Hence, the 4-star rating. Maybe I'll come back just for desserts, altho I noticed they serve tom kha gai (chicken galangal soup). Yes, definitely warrants another visit.
