As Filipinos, lechon has been an essential part of every party and family gathering we’ve ever been to. A celebration isn’t perfect without one! Lately though, restaurants specializing in lechon have been popping up so quickly making it very accessible. These places are great because they let us buy lechon with a meal or more of in a serving size that we can actually eat on our own.

Manilachon is one of these specialty lechon stalls. The branch my friends and I were able to try is located at the SM Megamall Foodcourt (Mega A). Once you get inside the area, Manilachon can be found once you turn left. Their food is priced very reasonably. You can get a lechon meal which comes with rice and some condiments for only 149 PHP, not bad right? The meal is filling enough for that price and their lechon tastes great as well. It comes in two variants - spicy garlic and classic. My friends and I bought two meals to share so that we could try both flavors! The classic one was a bit bland for my taste but I loved the spicy garlic one. It wasn’t too spicy but it was spicy enough to give the lechon a bit of a kick. What I loved most about Manilachon is that the lechon skin was suuuuper crispy. The skin is basically my favorite part and if it isn’t crispy, I might not eat any at all so this was great!

I would totally recommend this place to anyone who likes lechon - food is good without breaking the bank!

It’s another “budget meal” weekday so during my Megamall visit, I decided to dine in the food court instead of the fancy/casual restaurants there.
I opted to buy a meal from Manilachon because the lechon feels like it’s calling me. It was a risk for me to try it because there was a very short queue. It was good that they have an original and spicy version but I only saw it because it was on the display/viewing area. It wasn’t written on their menu. I can’t remember that the server tried to offer it, too. I got the Quarter Value Meal (which includes a serving of lechon, steamed rice and salsa on the side) priced at 149 pesos. The serving amount was good enough for me. The lechon wasn’t that flavorful. It was best enjoyed with a dipping sauce to complete the flavor. The lechon skin didn’t taste and feel like it, it was more like crispy pata. There were also selected skin parts that were very hard to bite and/or slice. I ended up not eating any of it. The Manilachon experience was definitely a risk and it still has a lot of room for improvement. I think they’re still new in the industry? The richness of flavor in the lechon meat (kahit wag na yung skin kasi baka ako lang yun) is something I was looking for. This is their main offering and this should be the basic thing they could’ve perfected. The skin will come in second because I think that’s just me, not liking hard to slice/bite parts.

Finally the Famous Lechon Porchetta is now at Lower Ground Floor of Building A Food Court Area SM Megamall!

I've been hearing a lot of Manilachon and last September 23 when I went to Megamall to have lunch with hubby, I stayed till he finished his working hours and before we go home, I checked out the place.

Hours Operation: Mon-Sun 10:00am to 10:00 pm

Products: Classic Lechon Porchetta & Spicy Garlic Lechon Porchetta.

I ordered the Spicy Garlic Lechon Porchetta as according to the staff it was their best seller! So I did! I ordered their solo meal for 139 pesos only, it has salsa and rice. For drinks , add 35 pesos 16oz and 40 pesos if 22oz ( Coke, Coke Zero, Sprite and Sarsi) same prices for iced tea too.

1/2 kilo of Porchetta is 400 pesos
1 kilo is 800 pesos

So crispy and you'll loved it in every bite, good news NO ADDED MSG so it's healthy 128055128061128077

I've been seeing Manila Chon at SM Megamall's foodcourt for sometime now. Decided to give it a try today. GLAD I DID! Rhey have a solo meal. Comes with rice and condiments. I got their spicy garlic. The skin was as crunchy as you could imagine. You'd prolly hear yourself as you chew. The meat itself was flavorful! It had the right spice, the right level of spiciness, it wouldn't overpower the other flavors/spices incorporated in the lechon belly. I found our Christmas and New Year bellychon. 128514128514 It is at par with what I had in Cebu.

The Belly Boneless Lechon is highlighted by this foodcourt star! They serve Boneless Belly Lechon by grams or kilo depending on your appetite or number of diners. They also have a solo meal served with rice, sweet vinegar and tomato salsa / side. During my visit i cant help but compare with a similar bellychon place that i hold in high regard. Unfortunately it pales in comparison with my favorite Manila Belly. I ordered the solo meal and the portion that was served to me was the tough sides. The skin was crisp and flavorful though. Sad that there is not much i can say about the meat since i was served with the tough toasted meat. Good enough for a second try. Will be more decerning and ask to give me the soft belly part.
