There are just some things worth giving a second chance. And no, I’m not being mushy here. I’m talking about giving some restaurants a second chance. There are times when I get bad first dining experiences because of either bad food choices or terrible service. But when I see good reviews about those establishments I visited (and swore will never visit ever again), I get curious and try to dine again. And I’m glad I did with Maple.

Hello, Maple.

To be honest, I wasn’t that thrilled to eat there again since my first visit wasn’t that pleasant. (We ordered all the wrong dishes hence Maple never appeared before.) But my mom wanted to visit something new to her so I gave in.

She ordered The Maple Burger (PHP475) and a glass Country Iced Tea (PHP105) while I got the Salmon Catch (PHP550).

The iced tea was quite concentrated so my mom had to wait for the ice to melt. Then again, that’s value for money (in a way).

The Maple Burger was pretty huge. Thick and juicy beef patty served with cheese, lettuce, pickles, tomatoes, and bacon with onion rings on the side, this dish guarantees a full tummy.

My salmon dish was delightful! The lightly seasoned and grilled salmon fillet went well with the buttered vegetable rice. It was slightly sinful though as it was butter but… it was too good. My EQ went negative.

And just like that, I found another favorite salmon dish. I think I’m a bit too addicted to salmon. I always order it. At times I even order two salmon dishes at once. #confessionsofasalmonholic

Late review! The place got shutdown, SAD! I loved their Prime Rib Tapa. It's a big slab of flavorful meat which is cooked to perfection.

May be its location isn't that good to be spotted by mall goers that's why they have closed. I guess they will transfer to Fashion Hall of Megamall soon, where they got it all for you!

Food took some time to be served but they served dinner rolls which made the wait tolerable. The waiters are attentive and would fill up half empty glasses with water without being told. Place is clean. The black truffle pasta was ok, though not really exceptional. The Prime Rib tapa was good. Meat is tender, contrary to the earlier reviews. The Maple burger is so-so but the accompanying fries are good. The onion rings though are a bit salty. They have a small play area for restless toddlers. Overall, Maple is ok. Just ok.

Ambience: 4- nothing fancy, but clean and relaxing.

Food: 4.4 - food was simple yet tastes clean:) i always go back for their eggs benedicts. Plus their servings are bigger than the others.

Service: 4.5 - waiters are very prompt and polite since we ate here earlier than dinner time and they only had few guests

Price: 3.9 - worth the price for the serving and taste of the food:)

Maple is on my list of restaurants to try and my friend and I finally went there to eat dinner (yes, breakfast for dinner HOORAY!!) we were entertained right before we entered the restaurant and when we entered, we were staff accompanied us to our seats. Everyone who worked there were very approachable and they served us with a smile! The place was a comfortable place to eat and chat. The menu was composed of breakfast dishes which all looked yummy and made it hard for us to choose which dish to order. Finally, we decided to share on the swiss chocolate pancakes since we just wanted dessert. They served complementary bread and butter. Finally our food came and we both said "whoa, it's big!" The 3-layered pancakes were big enough for 2 persons. They were the fluffiest pancakes i have ever eaten. It was topped with swiss chocolate shavings and it had chocolates mixed into them. The chocolate was rich and it made the pancake taste even better. Maple is a good place to eat breakfast any time of the day. The staff were nice, the place was cozy, and the food were so GOOD. I would definitely go back and try the other dishes!

The service at Maple is impeccable. Place is kid friendly as always with toys and books galore. Couch area is the best to chill. Crab cakes was not available but the Eggs Benedict (P315.00) and The Salmon Catch (P550.00) was worth the order. Missed the old school root beer float of the long defunct A&W so yours truly got their version. The root-beer (P195.00) was not sparking and overpowering and its sweetness was just sufficient. Salmon was just perfection coupled with a orzo pasta with Texas summer veggies and pesto on the side. Its skin was crisp and addictive. Eggs Benedict was likewise a tantric experience with its flavorful egg, ham, lettuce, crispy biscuit and delectable bacon.

Appetizer of their yummy bread and butter is just wonderful. The servers never failed to refill our water and even offered assistance in cleaning up the spilled crayons from our sleepy-eyed 3 year old. Somewhat pricy but if your not a heavy eater its cool to share it. Never disappointing even for the second time around128077128077

I really wanted to love this place, but it was just OK.

The savory pancakes get boring after the first bite. It's alarmingly heavy and flavor doesn't measure up. I will eat even after getting full just for flavor's sake, but it just wasn't worth it with this dish.

Friend's prime rob tapas looked amazing, but it was chewy. You had to take a water break and restretch your jaw between bites. The effort-to-flavor ratio was killing me, and I only had one bite.

Other friend had the huevos rancheros. Not bad. Not great. But I grew up with legit Mexican food and this merely acceptable.

The truffle fries were probably the second best fries I've had in the Philippines.

So a lot with this place wasn't great. It should really get 2 stars, but I am such a sucker for breakfast, it gets a pass. I am compelled to come back here eventually. Then it'll get a less biased review.

At the beginning of our meal, we were given dinner rolls with butter, the butter had a taste of Maple syrup which I thought was cool because it's an effort that the owners/head chef of Maple put in their service that makes them unique. It's a small detail that initially made a good impact for me. I was excited about the meal I ordered.

For the entree, I ordered both Prime Beef Tapa and Chicken Fried Steak. Their both beef and I had it to share with my friend. The tapa was T-bone steak cut and it came with fried rice, fried egg and condiments--vinegar; atsara; and salsa. Tapas are usually hard and chewy but flavorful. This particular steak was not, which was a good thing. I enjoyed it. My other order, the Chicken Fried Steak is not really chicken, it was just called chicken because of the way it was cooked--southern style. I found the beef a little too soft, normally a good thing but not really for this one. So, I enjoyed the Tapa more than the chicken 128516

Our visit to Maple was good. I shall visit it again soon.

Milkshake was too sweet. Pancakes were fluffy but lacking flavor. Waffle was huge but it lacked flavor as well. I like my waffles crunchy and this was a let down. I liked the free bread though.

Decided to have brunch at Maple. Ordered the Bigtime! Maple Breakfast (P540), Prime Rib Tapa (P520), Chicken Chips Basket (P295), Vanilla Milkshake (P175) and Pineapple juice (P110). Place was very exquisite and cozy in the couch area.. There is a play area for kids wherein they can play with toys or read books. Portions were definitely for sharing and the rib tapa was soft and tasty. The pancake was fluffy but alright in terms of taste. The pancake with the syrup, butter and crispy bacon it is perfection. Rustic Mornings pancake is still preferred by this reviewer. My kid loved the chicken but the fries barely touched. Pineapple juice was fresh but shake was nothing special compared to Butter Diner (located before in Cubao near Shopwise). Service was okay since they refill the water but 2 servers roaming is just insufficient (they usher and dp the cashiering as well). Definitely worth coming back foe the rest of their dishes.
