Marriott Cafe is our go to place when we have an occasion to celebrate. It has very good selection, very good food quality, good service minus the rowdy, noisy buffet crowd 128586

It's very cozy and laidback, just perfect for a family get together.

Since we have different food favorites in the family, buffet is always a good choice so that I won't have to fight with my kids for their order 128586128565 My picky eater son only eats Tempura and Steak at buffets. My lil daughter's top priority is dessert. Hubby's favorites are steaks, japanese, and seafood. While me, it's a bit of everythinf. I would normally start with some deli and cheese or japanese (sushi / sashimi). Then some good serving of seafood + a lil steak. Then, some good ol' laksa (i'll skip if none). Finally, when In Marriott, you must have Gelatto. Then cap it off with a cup of joe. Nomnomnom

The good thing is that Marriott satisfies all our cravings.🤓128525128561

Marriott Cafe always tops my list. Nomnomnom.

It was raining so hard and we decided to dine here after a terrible traffic. We are thinking if we would go for their ala carte or buffet and since we're hungry we choose the buffet.

Got the bill for 5k and since I am a member of the Marriott Club it's 50% off, plus I have a Ps2,000 voucher so my bill is only 500 pesos for two persons. What a steal! The perks of being a Marriott member. 128076🏻

It's my sister's 18th birthday tomorrow, so I planned to take a leave from work way back and take her out for a nice lunch. I haven't decided on where I was going to take her until about 2 weeks ago, when I saw promos from BDO.

BDO has several tie-ups with hotels and restaurants, and I chose from those and thought that Marriott Hotel is just a few minutes away from our house, why don't we try it? BDO offers 50% off the bill for all BDO Mastercard holders, and this is one's only until the end of August 2016. This is good for a minimum of 2 and maximum of 10 guests.

What's lovely about dining in hotels is that they have parking spaces! So convenient! They'll also give you a complimentary parking pass good for 3 hours. So yay again, free parking!

Buffet starts at exactly 12nn, but since we expected heavy traffic along the way, we left the house early and arrived Marriott Cafe at around 11:30am (hungry early birds). So we sat down near the entrance of the buffet and waited. Around 11:50am, my name was called and we were assisted to our seats. We were then reminded that buffet starts at exactly 12nn, so I just wandered around to take photos and see what food's available while waiting for the time.

Food choices are less compared to other buffets we are used to. I think I can compare the food quantity to Circles in Makati Shangri-La, but Marriott offers a bit more. Here are the variety of food available:
1. Salad bar - greens, macaroni salad, potato salad, kimchi, tomato salad, etc.
2. Cheese, bread, cold cuts? - gouda, Davao's goat cheese, breads, salami, some sort of salty ham (forgot what it's called xD just check the photos), cream cheese, butter, etc.
3. Breads, smoked salmon, salmon gravlax
4. Seafood station - you can have the shrimp, crab, oyster and mussel cooked, plus gambas
5. Halal Station - potato wedges, mashed potato, buttered vegetables, biryani rice, papadum, thai roast chicken, etc.
6. Steak, baby back ribs with corn salsa, red wine chicken stew, crab cake with caper cream sauce
7. Make your own pasta station
8. Japanese Station - maki, around 7 types?, teppanyaki, 3 kinds of tempura, miso soup
9. Grill Station - you can have some rib eye steak, tenderloin steak, lamb steak, salmon, other beef, pork, sausages, chicken barbeque grilled!
10. Pinoy station - bulalong batangas, sinigang na lamang dagat sa Visayas, other "pulutan" items like the tokneneng, sweet and sour meatballs, ginataang sitaw na kalabasa
11. Chinese Station - Roast duck, soy chicken, pork asado, hakaw, siomai, Japanese siomai (nob yangchow) :(
12. Build your own bowl - with stir fried or soup (like a hot pot station).
13. Chocolate fountain - with marshmallows, cookies, fruits, etc.
14. Pinoy Halo-halo in a jar
15. Cakes - cheesecakes, mousse cakes, carrot cake, puto, creme brulee, etc.
16. Gelato station - lots of flavors including bubble gum, pistachio, mocha chip, black forest, etc.

My favorites:
> I didn't get to eat all of the food choices, but I did enjoy their mashed potatoes and potato wedges. There's nothing really special, I just like potatoes xD the mashed potatoes are creamy, which is exactly what I want.
> I also enjoyed their grill station. I'm not actually an expert when it comes to judging the quality of steaks since I haven't tried those expensive, premium cuts, but I liked their steaks (in the grill station). The rib-eye and tenderloin were cooked to a medium-well doneness and these were juicy and tender (you won't need a steak knife). The salmon was also soft.

Other thoughts:
> If you go to buffets for the Japanese station, I think you're going to be disappointed with Marriott Cafe's
> I was disappointed that they don't have the wrapped peking duck :( it's available only for ala carte orders
> Pesto pasta was a bit salty
> Haven't tried gambas before but theirs tasted a bit weird
> No drinks included? But my mom asked for brewed coffee. Not sure if this was added to the bill or not, since the server didn't mention that it's an additional order

Service - 5/5 for service! We never ran out of water. Servers were quick to remove our plates as soon as they're empty. They were also very very friendly and all smiles. Even the chefs behind the stations were very friendly and patient. This made our dining experience even more memorable.

Their lunch buffet is typically priced at P1,900 per person, but since we have a promo, it only costed us P950 per person! What a deal!

Overall, I think their food are not too special. Most of them are typical food. They also have limited food choices per cuisine, but hey, for a discounted price, why not? If I were given a chance to return to this restaurant, I'd definitely go back, more because of their grill station (I'm not sure if other buffet restaurants have this. I enjoyed it a lot - carnivore here).

*I have more photos, but since only 10 photos are allowed, I only chose 10 to upload :)

Spend some catch up time with 2 of my friends here at cafe marriott on a sunday after lunchtime. Ordered the ff dessert:
*fruit tart - the tart was good although the kiwi, strawberries and even the mangoes wasn't sweet. Serving size was big as well

*flourless choco cake - not so sweet, a little bitter, was wondering if this was belgian chocolate. The underneath portion was crunchy / hard but as time passes that it was exposed to heat, the hard crunchy part was starting to soften. It has 3 layers of different chocolates. Generous serving size

*pistachio sansrival - this wasn't very sweet. Not so creamy either unlike the usual sansrival i've tried. The nuts was not very distinct and each layers were soft. Serving size was generous

This is my new fave buffet resto. Food quality is much better than other buffets. You can ask them to cook seafood any way you want. Their shrimps were a good size and their roast beef was flavorful. I also like how their dessert cakes were in the glass chillers at dinner and at breakfast, the fresh fruit juices in bottles. Was happy when they even accommodated our request for a fruit which wasn't in the buffet, they gave us a plateful of kiwi!

Marriott Cafe is definitely a must try buffet. The food choices were really good and not too overwhelming. I like their seafoods station, you can ask the chefs the cooking style or flavors you prefer. I love their US Rib Eye Roast Beef. Also, their desserts bar and oh the gelato ice cream. Glad I'm a member of Marriott Club so I got it at 50% off when dining in for two. Cozy place and nice ambiance. Nice staff too.

Who would've thought that attending a dessert tasting event could lead me to such great discoveries like this Coconut Mango Crumble?

I never had any chances of going out and went on a staycation in Marriott Manila, and so is trying out the food in their café. Therefore, I felt privileged to try at least, one of their creations - and that is this Coconut Mango Crumble.

Mango and cream on top of coconut crumble layer with really strong sweetness, if you ask me. It's really sweet and was kind of cloying, but I think it's because the mango and the coconut itself has this natural rich and strong flavors on their own.

I only tried it once because it's too sweet to handle, as for my liking. It's good and it's remarkable due to its intense sweetness!

Once again this place never fails to satisfy my cravings! When I visited they were still under renovation, so the whole dining area and buffet tables were set-up at the Marriott Hotel lobby. The buffet price was lowered then because some dishes were unavailable because of the small area they had. Now I think they are back in their regular operations so that buffet food is once again complete. For those who haven't been here please do try now! Lobster for the win! 128077

Dinner for today was "seafood bbq themed" so I was excited. The café was currently in renovation so the café was at the lobby. The variety food were not that wide unlike my last visit. I've got the big shrimp with big claws ( forgot it's name) then asked it to be grilled. The only thing I didn't like was the service. Twas really bad. really. You can hardly see a server unlike the bfast buffet.(there were bunch of them) gah.: it took them 30 mins to grill the big shrimp lol.128528

This was my nth time having a buffet at Marriot Cafe and I will keep coming back for more and would recommend it to my friends.

All of the dishes were good! From their soup to delectable desserts. One thing that sets their buffet from others was their Teppanyaki section. Some parts of the beef were not that tender due to the litid, but the sauce/flavor was to die for! Their steak was actually good too! 128522

The staff were accommodating and the place was elegant and neat. I really enjoy dining in here! 128077

Marriott's has one of the best buffets around. We went there for the lunch buffet on a Saturday and service was efficient; we were immediately seated, though the place was quite packed. The cafe itself is not that big so the ambiance wasn't overwhelming with a lot of dishes and it's fairly easy to go back and forth to our table.

Among the buffet stations, the most notable would have to be the appetizer and dessert stations. Fresh vegetables and pastas lined the middle station. And... Aside from the yummy pastries, who would dare say 'no' to a full selection of gelatos? It's the only buffet I know that will happily satisfy anyone's ice cream cravings.

Sorry for the lack of photo. We were overwhelmed with the buffet spread catered at the Cafe. This is the best hotel breakfast we had, bar none. Prime steak strips in the morning? Why not! Their cold cuts are also well-seasoned making it great for salads or when making a sandwich of your own. The greens are crispy and fresh, bacons are crispy but not hard to eat, yogurt in can are also available if u want some. 5-star bfast here. And yeah, people are very accommodating and warmly welcomes you with all smiles.

If you're into buffet restaurants, you should try this place. Their amount of variety of food served are just right, not too overwhelming. I really love their seafood station where in you could ask the chef to cook your chosen crustaceans in any way you like. I personally love their version of sweet chili!

Their Japanese station serve our all time favorite tempura, but you can also ask the chef to cook you beef tenderloin stir fried in front of you. This one's a winner!

Their version of Singaporean Laksa was superb! One of the best I've tasted so far, served in a small bowl with just the right portion perfect for one person. Their laksa soup was not so spicy that it hurts your mouth, but just gives you the right kick which will can stir up your appetite.

Last but not the least is of course the dessert station! There is unlimited Gelato ice cream! I will repeat that UNLlMITED GELATO ICE CREAM! 128525 taste all the flavors you like go crazy! They also have a chocolate fountain wherein you can dip different kinds of fruits which was also great! Some buffet restaurants only limit to marshmallows, bananas, apples, and pineapples.

If there's a special occasion coming up, do visit this place please! 128513

Celebrated my nth Bday here at Marriott Cafe w the fambam and in laws.

We went for the sunday Brunch at P2350/head w crossover at Cru.

The place was a little crowded considering it was opening time at 1130am.

We were seated in front of the western section and we started the attack!

Immediately had some seafood to grill so we can move on w other dishes.

The chinese section seemed lacking on the dimsum and only siomai and pork buns were there, saving grace was the soyed chicken n roasted duck.

If one is not familiar w the set up you might miss the Cru entrance on the side of the Chinese section; theres a small hallway leading to Cru .

At Cru , steak ,lapu lapu, prawns, scallops, angel wings, curacha, fresh crabs can be cooked at your desired preference.

There's also some milkshakes, cocktails and iced tea included on the buffet.

Another hidden gem is the dessert buffet located at the back side where the chocolates are situated.

If you get lost dont hesitate to ask :)

The cooked dishes were the usual and i only got a few from here n there just for the sake of tasting most of it.

Overall the Sunday brunch was worth it and comes w free coffee to end your meal.

Still the best place for fresh seafood in my book. Even beats the seafood selection at Spectrum. Never had an unpleasant experience in this place, which is why our clan keeps coming back for more. (With me hitting the seafood section. Hehehe)
