Masasa Beach may fall short to the caliber of Boracay, Calaguas or El Nido but its accessibility and affordability are its charm. For those in Metro Manila and Southern Tagalog, it is a good alternative for those who wish to escape for the sand, sea, sun and more!

One of the unspoiled beaches near Manila, perfect for a quick get-away. Unfortunately, we went during Holy Week and the place was packed. I guess the word is out about this place.
There are no permanent structures here, a few shacks and stores I suspect the locals put up for the Holy Week crowd.
The sand is soft and white, the water calm and warm. The place is beautiful but humans need to help keep it that way - we already saw trash, broken bottles, remnants of bonfire.
How to get there: drive to Anilao port, take boat to Tingloy, take tricycle to Masasa.
You can spend the night w/ some locals who offer beds/rooms. There are no hotels in Tingloy. You can also camp at Masasa beach but please keep the place clean.
We will be back, hopefully with far less people.
