Since there are not much restaurant choices in Sagada, we find breakfast here "sulit"! For P150, you get a hefty serving of Filipino breakfast with good coffee. I like the brewed coffee here since it's not as diluted as compared to the other restos. Though I have yet to find the best coffee here in Sagada. :)

I got the Daing na Bangus set. Good enough to satisfy my tummy after a long morning walk. :)

One good thing about this place is that serving time is relatively fast compared to other restos. If you've been to Sagada during peak season, I'm sure you know how the food supply can run out fast and that waiting time can range from 40 mins to 1 hr before your order gets served.

The wooden interior makes the place very homey, a great place to just hangout and enjoy the cold weather over a hot cup of coffee. :)

SAGAD ANG GANDA, SAGAD SA SAYA
A Sagada Trip Special

MASFERRE
After Kiltepan, ticked one box in our checklist for our must-visit restaurants. Had breakfast at Masferre though they say pasta is their best seller here. Though that time they were only serving breakfast.

So I ordered bacon and eggs. They will serve appetizer first - mangoes and their lemonade. Then main course will follow. It was served with local bread, butter, and fried bananas. In fairness, busog!

Leave it to our tour group to have the perfect timing in the world. I do not remember what time we got there but it was late afternoon. We were already hangry since we just finished, nay survived, the Sumaguing Cave. So imagine a group of people having very little energy and patience left in their systems entering this restaurant. I believe they were just about to close their doors to prepare for dinner service, but we got there a few minutes before they closed. After a bit of cajoling mainly led by our negotiation expert, we were accommodated. We might have forced our way in a bit into the restaurant but we were all very thankful that they allowed us in!

I ordered the chicken, just like everyone else, because the chicken was the recommendation of our colleague who has been there before. Highly recommended! So instead of having a set of different orders which presents the restaurant’s capacity for variety, we all chose to have chicken. Thankfully, it was very good and everyone enjoyed their meal. Service was a bit slow but it was because there was only one server as I believe the rest went for a break. Poor guy! Consequently, we gave him the tip he deserved. The service wasn’t so slow that it frustrated us but to be honest it was still an inconvenience. Nevertheless, food was great and that’s the most important part for all of us hungry trekkers.

Place was spacious enough, well-lit, and interesting. Tagged it as interesting because one of the attributes I truly appreciated was that the walls had several pictures of the past, black and white pictures, which all told a story. Just correct me if I’m wrong but my source is our negotiation expert, hopefully she wasn’t just inventing stories, but she told us that the owner was a photographer and he was the one who took all those pictures and decided to post them on the walls. Good move. I spent majority of my waiting time just scanning through the pictures and reading the captions. Before I knew it, food was there. Awesome time killer!

Anyway, go here for their chicken! That’s all I tried, maybe I’ll go for something else next time. Take care everyone!

We tried their spanish omelette meal and bangus meal and I say it's a super must try. Their meal included fried banana and mango which kind of completes the whole meal. I highly recommend their meals!!!

Had the cheese burger de luxe...it tastes great!!!! Enjoyed the potato fries...crunchy on the outside and soft inside..the only problem we had is they had slow service...the staff even asked if we could wait 20mins before our order will be taken...but i insisted on having our orders placed first then will wait for the food..

Nice place...but not to people who are really starving and wants their food out right away...

One of the best things about travelling is discovering little surprises. After a half day's worth of nature tripping, we decided on Masferre for lunch. We stepped into a warm and inviting place adorned with black and white pictures of Igorots from days passed. Ordering was "turo-turo" style. Nothing in the glass case showcasing the viands stood out. To drink, we went through a short list and were about to order lemonade when the hostess suggested we try their Melon Smoothie.

Surprise, surprise!!!

This rich and refreshing little drink was totally unexpected. The tropical presentation seemed out of place in this mountainous region, but, never mind that because the drink was chock full of melon flavor. Perfect mix of fruit and milk. This is one of the few smoothies I've had that is exactly that, SMOOTH! No chunks of fruit floating about. Easy to sip through a straw. This was truly a drink, NOT a dessert.

Now if only I could take it home and bring back to Manila! 128516128176128176128176128516

I was in sagada last may for 5 days and because food here is good we ate here four times. although their service is slow.

their sandwiches and may I say everything in the menu are huge (since most customers are foreign) with the price ranging from 150 to 250 per order. its a wow, tastes good, love the bread and everything on it, meat here is the real thing, you can taste the freshness. then there is their especial potato fries, am still dreaming about it up to now, its like mashed potato inside a crispy shell of potato. yah! potato potato potato.

the chicken here too is good, one of the best that Ive tasted so far. Lightly breaded, crispy, moist and juicy chicken.

p.s. dont order their orange chicken version, its like their fried chicken dumped with a ridiculous sauce that tastes like powdered orange juice.
