I love the place, it felt like home. we ordered the roasted pumpkin soup, longganisa & the seafood caprese linguine. The pasta was my favorite.

Ate here since a good friend celebrated her birthday here and just found this hidden gem just behind Robinson's Magnolia.
The set up of this place is like an old house turned restaurant and a part of the place is still under renovation during my visit.
I just have to say that their bagnet sisig is TDF. As in super good. Actually all the food here is great but this sisig just brought me to heaven then back. Beef salpicao is also a must try! Soft and tender cooked perfectly well. Paella Negra is also something. It is tasty and sauce is so thick that I think it even stained my intestines.
And the best part is.... It is not that expensive. Paella is only 800+ while ulam is for only 200-300 per order for sharing. Not bad right?

I loved the Baked Oysters and Mango Yema Cake. Their Choco Caramel Cake was too sweet for me, the caramel tasted like matamis na bao. The Frozen Margarita wasn't really frozen but it's yummy! The Kare Kare was good too, but i'd prefer a creamy Kare Kare over Mateo's garlicky Kare Kare sauce though.

Mateo's Spanish Paella -
Everything was cooked perfectly esp the squid all tender and not gummy.
Chicken Hot Wings -
Tasted a little buttery? but it's still good
Lengua Alla Mateo -
Is the sauce/sarsa supposed to be "watery"? meh. still good
Dark Chocolate Mousse Dome -
(Not in the picture ) mousse was so dense! And the texture of the crust's like a combination of a thin layer of cake? I think. And a thin layer of chocolate with crisps.
PS. geotagged in the wrong location

Great food! Affordable price for the quality of the food and cozy ambience. Place is in east ave and very easy to find. I recommend Spanish Paella and Dark mousse chocolate.
