Delicious seafood lunch! The grilled special bangus was 1108811088110881108811088️, fresh, lught and cooked just right. The halabos shrimps were small though. The pinakbet and sinigang were good too! Definitely one of the musts stop-over when heading back to Manila.

Service was slow though and there were flies inside though it's air-conditioned. They provide candles but not enough to keep them from flying around you and the food.128078🏻

A lot of devotees have been trooping to the Shrine of Our Lady of Manaoag, now that Holy Week (and of course, summer!) is fast approaching. Our 4th visit to Manaoag wouldn't be complete without dropping by Matutina's at Urdaneta.

Matutina's is an ideal stopover because it is near the TPLEX exit. Anyone coming from Ilocos, Baguio or Pangasinan can easily drop by for lunch or dinner.

Matutina's is well known for their inihaw na isda (I would recommend their bangus) but this time, we ordered their mix inihaw which includes a generous serving of liempo with ensaladang mangga, fresh large talong serving, okra, sibuyas, bagoong and itlog na maalat. This order already serves three and is only P250 (excluding rice).

Add fresh buko juice to your meal and you're ready to hit the road again!

This place is right by the national highway and apparently this is a very popular dining destination. Mainly because there's really nothing to eat along the road except for the Bee and the Golden Arches.

I first ate here 2 years ago from a trip from Sagada. While I don't like stops on a long trip, hence always just passing this place, I had no choice but to try this place as our large group was so hungry already.

All our orders were made by one person and i truly enjoyed our dinner. There was so much food and since it was 2 years ago I barely remember what we ordered but I do remember how I found it odd that there was a good seafood restaurant in the middle of a landlocked area.

This time we passed by because my mom made us go to Manaoag and this was the only logical place to eat. They now have a 300 peso buffet on weekends behind the main restaurant. We were the first ones there so we had the place to ourselves for at least 30 minutes until people started coming in.

Food was alright. Definitely better than the cheap buffet in Cabalen. Food was always replenished. I think for 300 it was super sulit. They even had camaron rebosado.

I only tried the kare-kare because I don't like mixing my food with other food hehe. Skip the California maki. Attached is a photo of fried whole headless frogs, which I would never try but you know they say it tastes just like chicken. My lola used to put fried frog legs on her dinner table and freak the hell out of us. Unlimited drinks were included and they had cucumber (mukang instant but I liked it) and iced tea.

The best Filipino food in Pangasinan at a very reasonable price! Gotta have that Adobong Talaba, Crispy Shrimp and Bangus! This place is our family's favorite! Really really worth it! 128151

If you're not in a hurry and would really really want to enjoy the food offered by Matutina's, PLEASE DON'T eat here. Please go to their original branch that's approximately 6km from here.

Why? Because this branch has a different owner and everything's way way way too different (place, food and service)!!!!! 128557128078

There were too many sad points that happened during our visit here. 128148

We came from a very looong tiring trip from Baguio then Manaoag then here and the last thing we want is a bad dinner experience..

Upon entrance, the place was too hot and crowded and noisy. Well, the place was full. Hence, the "chaos". 128529

A lot of items were not available already including the boneless na bangus and talaba 128529128557 plus they don't have the packed daing na bangus for pasalubong. 128078

Since we're tired and hungry and it's late already, we did not attempt to go to the other branch anymore (Bad idea!!!!).

We ordered the following: bangus belly sinigang, inihaw na liempo, adobong pusit, inihaw na bangus (regular) and pinakbet.

Normally, we would finish everything but this time we didn't because it was not good. The food was different and sad and weird. 128557

Bangus belly na sinigang was not maasim enough. The liempo was a bit tough. Abodong pusit was too sweet and not adobo-y, and the squid was rubbery. We had to asked the inihaw na bangus to be cooked again because it was still raw. It was not even cleaned. There were still intestines and something something inside. It doesn't taste fresh, as well. The pinakbet was all pork and chicharon with few vegetables. And the worst part, we even found hairs in some of the dishes 128557128078128529

Service was bad. Servers were not attentive. The place was not clean. From the wash area, we can see the kitchen and how they prepare the food, the cook wasn't wearing any shirt. 128529

For 700+ pesos, it was soooo not worth it. I wouldn't mind spending more as long as I know what I'm eating is good and clean.

Location of this branch is swerte since it's along the way going to tplex. Hayyyyyyyyyyyyyy #iyak 128557

Great food, fast service, cheap price. Talaba buttered, sinigang salmon ulo, inihaw na tilapia are good choice of viands.

Matutina's is one place where the pinakbet is to die for... As a compliment to my boneless bangus it was a delecable pair... I reccomend Matutina's for that slow food experience when in Pangasinan... Do not expect fast food... The service is slow but deliberate... Delish much...

On our way back to Manila, we stopped over Matutina's for lunch. This seafood resto is popular to tourists visiting the north. We arrived almost 12noon and we found it a bit hard to find a parking space. Guests filled up the place pretty fast. Luckily, we were able to get a table inside their airconditioned function room.

We ordered chopsuey, sari-saring inihaw, pork sisig, inihaw na tilapia and sinigang na bangus. I loved the chopsuey! It had generous amounts of squid and shrimps. 128077 The inihaw na bangus was my favorite! It tasted really fresh. Perfect with spicy toyomansi. I wish it was boneless so it's easier to eat. Hahaha. My sister ate most of the sisig since she's not a fan of seafoods. For dessert, mom got a halo-halo and buko pandan for my sister. The halo-halo was a steal for P75. Almost 3/4 of the glass was filled with beans, saging na saba, gulaman, etc... and topped with leche flan. 128523

They seemed to be a little disorganized. It was a challenge to call the waiter's attention. The sinigang na bangus that we ordered didn't arrive so we just cancelled it. 128528

Don't ever miss out on their buttered crabs, simply my fave. I also loved their sinigang na malaga and shrimp, adobong kangkong, garlic rice and pinakbet.

Super affordable and oh so good.

Truly they are the home of fresh seafoods but I must say they should improve on their staff and services. It just seems so hard to call their attention, yet the food preparation took so long even just for an order of garlic rice.

(Whaaaaat?) 128531

We kept on following up and up and up and away!

I have ordered for a platter of buffalo wings which I eventually cancelled because we're almost done eating but still no wings have flown to our table.

Not my first time to eat here. The experience was okay before, but I disliked it this time.

Good food and lovely place. After hours of driving it's a welcome break. Loved their Halo Halo Buko. Their sinigang soup was also very good. I loved that they had free bukayo for yoi while you wait for your order. :)

Don't you just live it when the place has free fast wi- fi so you could right your review on looloo right away?! People suggested the Pinakbet but it was bland and runny. But I really liked the calamari, Malaga (type of fish) Sinigang, and the grilled bangus was splendid! You can tell its one of the best resto around this place because the line just kept getting longer luckily we got a table right away. Service was fast despite the number of people

Food was great for its price, 150-250 per order and each order is good for 3 (but i think its good for 2 lang) ambience is very nice!

I gave them 5 star because of their caramel tart!!! I wish i bought more!

P.S. We brought in bottle of 1.5 softdrinks since we have lots in our car, i find the price of their drinks expensive. 50 per can. Corkage for bottle of softdrinks is 50pesos.

We always stop by Matutina's when we have roadtrips up north. It's a family favorite, and my grandpa, who loves seafood, swears by this place.

It's nice to know that they've kept their quality despite being quite a large branch. Servers scurrying around back and forth, people constantly moving in and out, this place is really a haven for travelers and families.

I'd have to say though, their take on sisig (bottom left picture) is quite interesting. Very eggy and with the fish? Tasty. Their sinigang is also one of the best I've tasted. Especially the bangus belly. Pangasinan bangus talaga!

Special mention to their sizzling pusit (upper right). Not too tough, not too slimy-soft. Sarap pa ng sauce!
