R told me about this great seafood restaurant called Matutina on our way to Baguio. But since we were still full on our way (as we stopped over an icky McDonald’s) and we were too sleepy on our way home, we missed having a meal there. But a few weeks back, we stayed at a place which was near a few branches when we went to Clark for C’s big day. We didn’t exactly plan to drop by but R’s dad craved for it and so…

Hello, Matutina’s Seafood Restaurant!

It was a simple no frills seafood restaurant that has a bit of Padi’s Point minus alcohol feel to it. (Or let’s change it to Gerry’s Grill as an easier reference.)

Uncle H already ordered for us and we had Bangus na Inihaw (PHP130), Tanigue Kilawin (PHP180), and Sizzling Bangus Sisig (PHP180).

While waiting for our fish, we munched on some coconut candies wrapped like pastillas which were yummy! I failed to take photos as I was already hungry then.

For the price, the grilled milk fish was huge. It was grilled well as it was still juicy when it was served to us. I enjoyed it with soy sauce with calamansi.

Look at that belly!!!

I didn’t get to enjoy the kilawin as I had canker sore. Eating it was painful. >.< But I still managed to have a few bites and if you love tangy dishes, this is a must order for you!

The sizzling bangus sisig was delectable. It was a bit salty but nothing calamansi could not solve. I loved the crunchy bits. Friendly warning: this dish will make you eat more rice.

Overall, it was a great meal and value for money! I wanted to try more dishes but the ones I wanted were either unavailable or will take a long time to prepare. Well, at least I have a reason to visit again.

You have to visit this place and try the buttered talaba. Look at it! Isn't it such a beauty?? Major heart stopper.

This, for me, is one of the best dishes here. You cannot as you will not get enough of this dish. Life will never be the same after you taste it. It's delicious.

The other dishes here are also good, and they are affordable. The place has been renovated over time.

There may be some flies as you eat even if the place is air conditioned. They're huge flies.

Nevertheless I'd still go back here for their buttered talaba, among others because love (for buttered talaba) knows no limits. 128151

Their best-sellers are crispy shrimps, grilled seafoods, bagoong and their bangus is cooked to perfection. Delicious food, priced at a great value and also love the ambiance in this restaurant. Service is good, worth the wait.

Fresh seafoods cooked just right and that's what I love about this restaurant. Btw, The branch that I have dined is in San Isidro, San Fernando, Pampanga branch.

The seafood was not as good as I expected. It was filling but I wasn't as satisfying as I hoped.

Been here twice and I love everything! Affordable and food would not disappoint your taste buds. Each serving is only good for 1-2 persons. The sisig serving can actually be enough to be consumed by 1 person. Para di mabitin, order more!
For the drink, I have only tried one flavor of their shake, Green mango, na sobrang asim! You can also choose from having your iced tea as bottomless or get a tower for the group. :)
And since it has a lot of customers every meal time, you have to wait for table vacancy. Aaand parking by that time would be probably full.

I did not like Matutina the first time I ate there, maybe we ordered the wrong food (Pinakbet, Crispy Pata) it tasted typical. When we returned the second time we ordered their best seller Hipon in chili sauce. It was good and had generous servings. Not bad for Php 690 for additional orders of Sisig, Kilawin na bangus and kropek good for 3. Im going back when I am in the area.

We were looking for something new restau to try for dinner before heading to pangasinan and through looloo we found this restau nearby so we gave it a shot! We were a total of 16 so here's what I can say:

MENU/ FOOD: Good thing they have this combo meal choices for 5-6 persons so it won't be difficult to choose dishes most specially if you're in a hurry! The fish dishes we had taste fresh! I'd recommend SINIGANG na MALAGA. They also served free soup! I also like the dessert we had, their heavenly LECHE FLAN! I'm really a bit choosy when it comes to leche flans, but theirs is the one I really like the most!

SERVICE: Good service! Probably we were lucky enough to have an accommodating waiter assigned to our table.

PRICE: For a group of 16pax our total bill is only 4k+. Not bad for a happy tummy!
