I like the nostalgic ambiance in the old matys, the food was great! Lalo na yung tapsilog & smoke barbecue. Tasty din yung soup nila na pangtanggal hang-over. Great for tipid mode barkada blow-out

Its what my dad calls 'Mura na, marumi pa' but we always added 'Masaral talaga!' because it really is!
One of the original/famous tapsilogan in the south I think.
The tapa is flavourful!!128525 joined with sinangag, egg, and the ketchup+vinegar+salt+chili sauce! Uuuuhhhmmm the thought of it makes me drool now!! Although the place is just an eatery tapsilogan street style it is a go-to place for a cheap yummy tapsilog craving!!128077128077128077128077

After our NatGeo run last Sunday, Anthony asked me where I want to eat breakfast, I told him I want to try Maty's! So we went their with his mom and dad 128513

There were around 3 Maty's in the same street as this branch and I was like, "WOW 128561 Must be really good..."

Since they are famous for their tapa, we all ordered tapa. For just 70 pesos (with sinangag and egg), sulit na! 128076

Tapang Kabayo?? 128052 Not sure if it's true but I don't really care!!! The tapa was very tender and tasty. I enjoyed it especially with vinegar, soy sauce, sili and ketchup! 128513128077

This well known filipino breakfast dish will surely satisfy your cravings! The serve their very famous tapsilog with a very affordable price! Also, they prove themselves to be the number one spot according to looloo! for only P70, its something that will make you come back. their juciy and tender bbque is also a nice try!

Maty's is one of those usual kanto stops in the busier part of the town. Undeniably, the best Tapsi place in all of Parañaque, probably even in the entire metro! 128525 I've loved Maty's since I was in high school and the quality hasn't deteriorated. I could eat their tapa everyday! Unlike Sinangag Express', their tapsilog is less oily and has no umay factor.

This Sinangag Express-like fastfood chain -- along with Don Galo's Best -- started the tapsilog / barbecue craze in Parañaque. I remember when I was still in high school, people were talking about how delicious their tapa and pork barbecue are. Of course, being a sucker for carinderia-like food, I had to try it, and it did not disappoint me.

I can say that their barbecue is one of the best here in Parañaque, outshining Central's now-overpriced best seller. Whatever the marinade they put on the pork, it gives me the "mmmm" reaction everytime. The tapa is delicious, too, but I would have wanted it to be a bit more greasy. It's just a preference of a non-health conscious guy like me. Haha!

After years of missing Maty's, I was able to dine last Friday. Nothing changed -- from the physical look of the chain up to the taste of their meals. Just like when I was a tween, it didn't disappoint. The price was also the same as years ago, but it came with a compromise. Their pork barbecue became smaller which, for those who would want to indulge, might want another stick. Its delectable marinade was still the same, though, so I gave their now-tiny sticks a pass.

They also offer pancit canton and bihon apart from their famous tapa and barbecue.

This was my first meal in Manila after 3 months of being away! Imagine, nasa plane pa lang ako, I can already taste their tapa which made me crave even more! I haven't tried Rodic's so I can't really compare hence this is the best tapa that I've tasted so far. The sauce is part of the experience too. I'm a northerner so when my southern hubby showed me how it's done, i was like "what??? Ketchup, vinegar, salt and chili?" But really, I can't think of having the sauce any other way. The place is dingy I must say, but I'm forgiving because I just love their tapa so much. :) Isipin mo na lang you're eating on a side street in Bangkok or Vietnam, madumi pero masarap! 128513

Maty's is famous because of its Tapsilog.
masarap din!!! It's like the Rodic's of the south.
Would you believe that they have 3 branches in the same street? YES! 3 branches along Quirino Avenue, Paranaque. Now it's not just for you to taste but also for you to see. hehe

We live in Don Galo, Paranaque so this is staple food for us, Maty's original. Since birth, their tapsilogan has been there and many have already imitated them and even use the name, "Don Galo's Best Tapsilog", however, they're just imitators and not original as they claim.

Maty's on the other hand grew by the number along Quirino Ave. Now, they have 3 different branches all in the same street and they're just few meters away from each other. I also saw one branch in front of Evacom near Gatchalian Subd. along Sucat road.

Since I was a kid, we buy their tapsilog together with bbq usually after school. I bring my classmates from St. Paul here and now, my friends from college and medicine.

They have expanded their 3rd branch and renovated it into a 3-floor building to cater all of their visitors and customers from all around the metro.

• PLACE - Clean. Although the first 2 branches are not that presentable, the place still looks clean. However the smoke and smell of the bbq is all over the place. But you won't have to be bothered by this if you're on the 2nd floor.

• FOOD - Superb! You get to have the BEST tasting tapsilog for only 65php! When I first tried Rodic's, I said to myself, they must have copied Maty's recipe and ingredients. Hehehe

• PRICE - VERY AFFORDABLE and super pocket friendly. I even remembered buying the tapsilog at 40php only but not it's 65php. Not bad after several years of inflation. Still, cheaper than Rodic's. But be wary, the servings at the first 2 branches are bigger than the 3rd branch most especially on their take out. I just noticed that since the take out serving placed in paper container at the 3rd branch was really small for my tummy.

• SERVICE - Fast and friendly employees. They also give tou FREE bulalo soup and lots of ketchups and vinegar! Perfect combination for the tapa and bbq. Try it!

Overall, this is still the best tapsi place for me. nothing beats even Rodic's. The tenderness of their tapa is irreplaceable and incomparable to the "rest". Sorry, it's just me and my opinion. Try it ans judge it yourself. :D
