This was after Christmas, my best friend and I got together to catch up and of course to buy gifts for my poging poging inaanak. Medyo bias kasi first ko xang inaanak ever. Haha

Anyway we ordered Fresh Lumpia which cost about 70-80 pesos (on the picture) and I was surprised because it was way too small. Parang tinipid masyado? I was expecting that it should be as big as the plate coz before it was like that. Well of course, we were disappointed but since the kids already started to eat their chicken plate we just ordered another one of these and Tokwa't Baboy which cost about 80-90 pesos.

Fresh Lumpia - masarap nman pero not worth it for me. Mas ok prin ung sa Next door. 2 stars only.

Tokwa't Baboy - Masarap ung soy sauce na ksma ng tokwa and baboy. The usual unti lang serving kaya for me 3 stars lang.

Overall Max Experience. It was not great. Sorry. For this stall hope you guys find time to improve. Feelin ko kasi sa ibang Max nman okay. Pero for this one. 128078🏻

Chicken all you can! Its my first time to try this frenzy ever since it started. I don't usually eat at Max's cause they serve small portions with a big price tag. My friend invited me over and asked if I want to try their all you can eat chicken, of course I said yes! cause I love chicken lol. T'was a lil bit dissapointing though cause their chicken was salty (I don't know if they intentionally cook them that way) But I didn't mind haha. I think I won't crave for chicken anytime soon 128513

Eggs, rice, chicken, tapa, pancit, tofu and fish fillet... all were not freshly cooked! Kahit onting init walang maramdaman. It's not really appetizing to eat such foods. Yung tapa po, matigas talaga 128530
Service is fast and great. The tocino went too sweet buy very texture-wise.
All were not money-worth. Sayang, I used to love their chicken when I was a kid. Nah, nothing stays the same (lol what)
Paskong pinoy sa max's restaurant.... okayyy.

Ah. There's no doubt about the awesomeness and tastiness and general appeal of the famous Max's chicken WITH banana ketchup.

My family and I wanted to try out something new though, so we saw a set of new items on their menu, made by Chef Laudico. Interesting creations, like the beer-braised Pata Tim, but we eventually decided on ordering the seafood tinapa pasta (pictured).

I love tinapa. And pasta. Naturally, i was excited to taste this dish. It came piping hot to our table, and the distinct smell of smoked fish came tickling our noses. We poked around the dish, and saw that the tinapa was quite few compared to the amount of pasta (good for 3-4 people!). The seafood (squid and shrimp) wasn't that plentiful as well. Ah well.

The pasta wasn't al dente. PET PEEVE. :( It was too soggy already, but at least it wasn't to the point of being very soft. The taste of tinapa was very evident, so that was all good. It had a little hint of spiciness because of the siling labuyo as well, and that went very well with reducing the "lansa" of the dish. Not bad. It was very tasty.

The adobong tofu (with kangkong!!!!!) was the winner for the night though. Firm, squishy tofu with tons of kangkong in their sweet brown sauce... Fantastic. Paired with garlic rice AND the seafood tinapa pasta? I just went to heaven.

The kare-kare only had one large strip of beef though. We couldn't share it because there was a tough strip of fat running the length of the piece. Oh well! The sinigang, just the typical comfort food style sinigang we all know.

Service in this branch was very good. We were seated within 5 minutes (and we were third in line!), our food came within another 5 minutes, and our servers were attentive to our needs. (including accommodating my lolo's request for patis. HAHA!)

So yes, the adobong tofu and the chicken. And the seafood tinapa pasta is worth trying, i daresay.

PS: Lighting was quite bad in there. Oh well!

This was the first time I had breakfast in Max's and I had a great experience. 127881

I ordered their adobo flakes. It came with a free cup of coffee. For 159 pesos feeling ko sobrang sulit na! 128076

Given the price, I thought it'll be like other tasteless adobe flakes. But I was wrong. It's tasty and crispy. Lasang adobo talaga at di nakakasawa.

Definitely going to order it again! 128077

Forever favorite.

My mom makes the same Buko Pandan! Tastes exactly the same! and since I'm away from home, this is the only thing that tastes like my mom's Buko Pandan. Huhu128557

I always order the regular. The special only has ice cream on top which destroys the taste of the Buko Pandan. I always prefer the regular128077

They had a makeover. They have their pastries wrapped around their black and dark brown cashier box with a hint of the rustic feel.

The uniforms are far better than how usual restaurants and chains dress their staff. Wish they have their own music for ambiance not the r&b and radio station random songs.

Adobong tofu and garlic rice for me, please!
