Last week, after a long day in Kandle Cafe working on my reports, I was starving on my way home. Didn't want to go fastfood so I ignored Mcdonalds and went to Max's, which is right beside it.

Almost closing time so there was only me and another table with a family. #foreveralone

Anyway, service was good! They were prompt in refilling my water and the waitress was really friendly and accommodating though I noticed her being tired already. Last customer for the day?

I got half of their Spring Chicken and tried their Daing Fried Rice. Never knew they had the latter so it got me curious. There were two other variants which I forgot already 128514

Overall, the daing rice had a very subtle hint of daing in it. You can only taste the daing if you add more of the small pieces on top, see picture. It also had sliced tomatoes and salted egg as toppings. Obviously the serving was too big, for sharing to be accurate, so I took most home. The spring chicken, half serving, was just okay. Meat was dry and lacked the extra crisp I usually expect..

Max's Restaurant is a tradition. Whether it's your birthday, child's christening, a reunion, or just simple cravings, Max's never fails to deliver a fantastic meal. I love how the taste is consistent with every visit.

Their famous fried chicken is really sarap-to-the-bones, the chicken skin is cooked just right while the meat is not to oily / fatty. You will normally get a separate smaller plate to create your Max's sauce masterpiece and it simply is a mixture of banana ketchup and Worcestershire sauce only to enhance the taste a bit while keeping its flavors intact to it. We always have the Fresh Lumpiang Ubod, and Ube Decadence to best pair with their fried chicken.

The perfect Pinoy dishes are served here for casual dining, which is great for the family and friends. Interior is bright enough yet soothing. The branch here is less crowded, quiet, and cleaner. They have polite waiters, too. Worth trying also are Max’s Kare-Kare and Crispy Pata, both of which are, as people say, sinfully good.

Max's is one of those Filipino restaurants who always have superb customer service. I have yet to find a branch where customers like me aren't made to feel like I'm a welcome visitor in a friend's or a relative's home. My kids both had their Baptismal parties at a Max's restaurant (although in a different branch) and they have great freebies for those availing their party packages.

I was actually surprised to find this branch quiet last Sunday morning. Don't get me wrong. I was not disappointed. It was actually a welcome surprise. Like I said, we frequent Max's restaurants and it's often one of the choices for breakfast/brunch. Too bad the one nearest our village opens at 9am so we have to drive a little bit further for early morning breakfasts. Going back to my point, most of the time, there would be a lot of folks doing Sunday breakfast at Max's. And to think that this one is on a main road, (Quezon Ave) on a Sunday, which also happens to be Valentine's Day.

The service was great as usual. Love the fact that they check on you periodically to see if you need anything. Their tapa meal is always a winner and their brewed coffee, just right.

Oh and the cherry on top? We got a free sundae. Just because it's Valentine's Day 9786

The Fried Chicken is purely legendary. I also liked how flavorful the pancit canton was.

Surprised with Max's baked goodies... I only really like the caramel bars but this is another gift from one of my bf's patients...

It's a macapuno roll, a bit on the sweet side, but very fluffy with good consistency... I liked it! Add it to the list of good things Max's offers...128522

Value for money.
Everything here is good.
For me they have the best champurado and a little bit of everything.

Good: value for money without compromise on taste.
Bad: sometimes the lines are really long.
