My all time favorite dessert ever!!! Ube Creme Decadence from Max's Restaurant 128525

And i have to commend their staff for being so attentive and a special shout out to our server, Will, for serving my family for more than 20 years with different branches already.

Truly, Max's Restaurant is a proud Filipino tradition 128077

Well yeah this ain't a photo of the food but still it's the place that counts for me! Haha actually nothing beats the taste of their spring chicken. They served corn soup for today, it's not in the salty nor sweet side maybe because of the texture that's why I like it plus it has CORN!!! I am a corn lover kaya siguro corny ako (proven?) anyway the place looks small but they still have more space inside.. 128077128077128077128077ako for their staffs.. Very much accomodating, and they keep on smilling which is a plus points to every customer around. Oh yeah we celebrated hearts day here! Dinner date with hubby and baby! Happy valentine's day everyone!!!

Sorry, no photo. I was tad hungry. Lol.

My fave cousin is back from Canada for a vacation so we decided to have Filipino food for lunch. We had the mushroom soup, classic fried chicken, pancit canton, beef caldereta, sizzling tofu and lumpiang shanghai. My son had the spaghetti-hotdog meal. We enjoyed all the food! The mushroom soup was very appetizing; creamy, savory, very mushroomy. I loved it. The sizzling tofu will always be a winner. Pancit canton lacks errr, PANCIT because it looked more like chopsuey than noodles with veggies. I was not able to taste the caldereta because it was devoured by every one before I was able to have a taste, deym! With that, I think I can safely guess that it was good as well. Consciously pass on the lumpia (not a fan).

We had two orders of each dish; one whole chicken was left untouched. I think the total bill was around 3k.

Service was excellent except for one thing. My mom requested that the chicken be chopped well but it was served otherwise. How are we supposed to eat that nga naman? Ang stress pa magchop! Lol. But the waiters were very accomodating and responded to our request right away. They were all very friendly and smile-ly all the time.

What can I say that hasn't already been said by the previous reviews of this place. The food is pretty good here. It never disappoints and the service is always great.

I'm not sure if it was because of the
|ooloo hoodie or their service just really improved significantly. We were here last weekend, on a Saturday night I think, and my sister was wearing my |ooloo hoodie. (Sorry Peanut D, I know the hoodie is something one must earn but my siblings keep wearing it haha!)

My mom and I arrived late due to some situation in Cotton On. Situation means there were items on sale haha. When we got to Max's, I noticed the waiter was having small talk with my dad and he was addressing him as "Sir Noli". Apparently, the waiter introduced himself to my dad early on, then also asked for my dad's name so the staff can address him properly throughout the night. (Plus points!)

Everyone in this branch was friendly and courteous. They also smile a lot. I like that they offer recommendations without being pushy or irritating. It takes skill to know when to and when not to offer a recommendation. (More plus points!)

By the end of the meal, we were asked how the food was. They don't usually do that in other branches. Our only feedback was their crabmeat fried rice didn't have much crabmeat. Parang puro scrambled egg lang. But we were hungry so we finished everything without complaining. The waiter was appreciative of the feedback and came back to us to say that the kitchen has been informed. They offered some dessert but we declined. We were too full! (Plus points again!)

As for the food, well their chicken is like no other, great tasting as always. Even the breast part was juicy. There's something in Max's fried chicken that cannot be replaced by any other fried chicken. We go to Max's at least once a month hehe. We also like their crabmeat fried rice and binagoongan. Plus we absolutely love the caramel bars!!!! Laging may takeout.

In the picture is their gambas which makes use of spicy aligue with some french bread on the side. I found it too oily but it was delicious. We had it as appetizer....a very unhealthy appetizer.

All in all, hoodie or no hoodie, we'll keep coming back to Max's - the house that fried chicken built! 127831127830128020

Nine of us trooped from Makati to New Manila for our annual chicken-all-you-can which was available this year only at Max's branch at Robinsons Magnolia. Yes, we will travel far for cheap food, especially Max's fried chicken. This is the standard against which I judge all fried chicken. After 2 hours of eating chicken, we were stuffed. The most eaten by any individual from our group this year was 5.5 servings (markedly lower than last year's record of 7), and the least was 2.5 (which was my record this year, higher than my pathetic showing of 1.5 serving last year). One officemate excitedly said that it really was 'kilig' to the bones. 128563

No photos of what we devoured. It just wasn't a pretty sight.
