This is the first Max's in the country and the most sophisticated for me. It has this Balinese feel which I really love. Perfect for family gatherings and for those that has their little kids who can freely run around safely. I love how they serve Filipino food.

From Buttered Shrimp to Lechon Kawali and their famous Fried Chicken. We all know Chicken here is just plain unless you dip it in their signature Banana Ketchup and Worcestershire sauce. But their plain Chicken is what I've been accustomed to, It's deep-fried without any clunky batter so you get the chicken skin nice and crisp, golden brown but still tender and juicy on the inside. I will always come back for it. It's nostalgic.

I paired it with fresh lumpiang ubod and vegetable lumpia. The ubod needed more seasoning but this shortcoming was erased by the perfectly seasoned vegetable lumpia with a crunchy outer cone which acted as the cover of the lumpia.

Of course, you can't leave Max's without grabbing a box of Caramel Bar. It's just so good.

I will never get tired of eating here. Nothing changed in their product. Things are getting better. Still one of the most affordable venue for Filipinos to experience great and world-class food.

Ah, the convenience of ordering online. Just a few minutes after submitting my order, I received a confirmation and reminder that delivery will be within an hour. After more or less 45 minutes, the delivery man arrived. He was very polite and his tone was pleasant.

Despite having the food delivered, the Pork Binagoongan, Sweet & Sour Fish, and Half Fried Chicken were still good; like they just got out of the kitchen. 128077🏼

Had dinner here with the whole family before attending mass a while ago. Ordered the usual orders - chicken, crab meat fried rice, pancit canton and an additional order of sizzling tofu. As always, everything tasted delicious but I didn't eat the sizzling tofu since I'm not a fan of tofu itself. Our only concern was the size of the chicken, it was too small compared to our other visits. Still, we enjoyed a good meal.

I haven't written a review in a while, so I just wanted to start with something classic... One of my favorite treats, the caramel bar of Max's! It's such a great dessert, a little palate cleanser at the end of a great meal! 12807710084

A classic family restaurant you can really enjoy. Menu may not have changed in the years but Filipino style cooking at its finest can be located here.

Though it was replaced by a new one, our sinigang na hipon has a plastic labo on it. Yuck! Late lunch (3pm, 09Mar2014)

To find a good restaurant that is not crowded for dinner at this time of the year is not an easy task. Decided to go here since the place is quite huge and chances to have a seat and table would be better. Parking may be a daunting task but they have a number of people who would assist.

Place still looks neat now from my previous visit. Staff are attentive enough. Ordered their classic Max's chicken as usual plus their pinakbet and lechon kawali. Dishes were good enough. But my pinakbet is better.

This is the Filipino family restaurant I've grown up with through the years. Aside from their famous chicken, I always order their triple chocolate champorado. Their adobo flakes all-day breakfast meal is also a must-try!

Serving good food that can make your mouth water with expectation is one of Max's trademark.

Max's Fried Chicken (Php 218)
The star of the show.. Wasn't it this same chicken that build this house? This restaurant really knows how to bring out the crispiness of any dish. The meat is super juicy, right juicy not oily. 127831

Fresh Lumpiang Ubod (Php 71)
I noticed that the lumpia with coconut pith or ubod, ground pork and some chopped shrimp as filling was not as big as it used to be. Aside from it being smaller, my Ha Yuan fresh lumpia or lumpiang ubod is tastier. 128532

Dessert Sampler
Included all their dessert offerings like leche flan, ube decadence, brownie ala mode and of course buko pandan. This could be eaten by two to three persons.

Overall, the staffs were very accomodating. Food were truly Pinoy. It was very scrumptious and appetizing. We were really full that time and enjoyed Max’s experienced. I’ll surely go back to this place!

Had dinner at Max's on Tuason/Castor tonight for my boyfriend's mom's birthday! It was rather bittersweet for me; it's always great to be included, but the fact that the boyfriend is in SFO was a little sad since we always enjoyed Max's together. Aww.

But anyway, celebration! I was happy to have my usual spring chicken, but I was a little bummed that it wasn't as crispy as it is when I have it in the Greenhills branch. Boooo we want crispy skin! The taste is still awesome, though, so foin.

I always love how the servers always respond with "My pleasure, ma'am/sir" (not mamser, okay) after I say thank you for things.

Mom brought some tapsilog (P199) for brunch!

I think there a lots of great ways of cooking tapa. There are those who make it saucy, dry (even sun-dried sometimes), crispy or just a bit moist with sauce. Max's was the dry kind. This isn't to say it was tough because it sure wasn't. It was tender, without sinew and you could easily chew on the delightful pieces of meat. It wasn't too sweet nor too salty, and it came perfect with a mild vinegar and some atchara.

What I did't like was that the eggs that came with it were a tad more cooked than I would have preferred. Then again, it would be a chore to make overeasy eggs on the go. Maybe I'll just request for that in case there will be a next visit.

Overall, I liked Max's tapsilog. It isn't a favorite of mine that's for sure, but I still think it is a pretty decent and likeable.
