Melo's is a fine-dining restaurant famous for its steak. The place is great for an intimate romantic date, whether it is a business meeting, or even a casual hangout with good friends or loved ones.

Although it is kind of small and hard to find specially if you don't have Waze or a GPS with you. It looks crowded with lots of tables, chairs and some cabinets plus it looks really old but still fancy. I think it would be fancier dining here at night than in the afternoon.

The dinner rolls was okay and nothing really special. Then we had cream of asparagus for our soups and I liked it actually. The salad which I found more delicious than the soup, I wonder that the dressing is.

Then the steak, we had their Wagyu Tenderloin Grade 8 Foie Graz it was so good! It's soft and full of flavors with the mashed potato! The carrots and asparagus were fresh and the steak is cooked perfectly. It was very juicy I finished it even if I was already full!

The waiters were very attentive and accommodating, maybe it's because there were only two groups of customers dining during that time. Their food are very expensive but still worth the price. And you will not regret you've spent on this restaurant. Hopefully in the future I could return and have to try their other dishes.

It has been months since I purchased my Deal Grocer vouchers for Melo’s Foie Gras and Steak Set and finally, R and I were able to use it one Friday.

Hello, Melo’s.

I don’t exactly remember the last time I dined in Melo’s but it must have been more than a decade ago. All I know is that this is one of the established steak places in Manila. So when I saw a good deal in Deal Grocer, I nabbed the chance to enjoy a foie gras and steak set for only PHP999.

I made a reservation for two at 7 p.m. and when I got there 10 minutes earlier, the place was empty. Well, there was a table occupied outside but there were no other diners around. To think that it was Friday and pay day, it made me realize why Melo’s was offering this irresistible deal.

I asked the server to prepare our steaks 15 minutes before R arrives. While waiting, I was given some soft buns and butter.

The medium rare steaks were served a couple of minutes after R arrived.

The steaks were succulent and tender. But it lacked flavor and it made me crave for seasoning. The foie gras looked a bit sad and was not what I imagined it would look like. Taste-wise, it was okay. But it was dry and quite far from the ones I get from Highlanders Steakhouse. R commented that the foie gras tasted like the ones from Impressions which were just mediocre.

Overall, it was a satisfactory dinner. It wasn’t superb or mind-blowing. But it was filling and still value for money.

When you want good steak, you go here. Sure it's a lot pricey than other steakhouses but for assurance and quality, I will never complain and I will always recommend them . This is a tried and tested place for us for years and they do live up to their standards until now. Our tenderloin steak was perfectly cooked according to preference and usually, when you have good meat ready, that's all you need - someone to cook it right. 128522

angus prime tenderloin steak redux @melo's

my medium well steak was a bit well done for my liking & a tad salty as well. it was still good though. the kumander's tenderloin was perfect so they really know how to do steak. the soup (crab & corn/spinach) were sub par like before. their 40% discount promo for bpi credit card was no longer being offered but we were pleasantly surprised when they gave us an elite card entitling us to 20% off. nice. more reason to come back soon.

great offer at melo's: 40% off on all angus steaks thru bpi credit card. great deal! got the tenderloin angus steak which includes soup (french onion or seafood). the french onion was a lot better. the foie gras appetizer was fantastic. but the star of the show was definitely the steak, tender & perfectly grilled. we preferred it medium well sans any gravy (with meat this good it's a sin to put anything on it).

our small gripe is that they gave us anchor butter for the complimentary bread. you would think at that price range they'd serve at least lurpak. also, the gravy they use isn't that good, which is fine since as mentioned, the flavor of the steak should not be tarnished by gravy or sauce.

I had a wagyu set meal from cashcashpinoy. I paid 1100 for it per person. It came with chicken liver pate, soup or salad. I loved the french onion soup. My date got the salad, the serving of which was quite small. The chicken liver pate with melba toast was okay. We always like the soft breads they give out for free. I love pairing it with soups. As for the steak, it was still delicious as always. A small downside, though, was that there was a small part where it tasted burnt. It's just a little hiccup, my previous experience didn't have that. For dessert, we had chocolate mousse that it's a little bit too sweet but it's delicious for the first few spoonful.

I have been eating here since 2012. Honestly, I usually dine here only when there's a deal from group buying sites which usually offers steak set meals for discounted prices. My guess is the steaks come from the sirloin part but that does not compromise the taste of the beef. There were a couple of times where I ordered the dry aged angus and wagyu steak. Both steaks taste great but I would prefer the wagyu by a slim margin. I also find little difference between the steaks in the set meal and the steaks from the regular menu. All of them are just delicious. This is hands down one of the best steak joints in the country.

Had my wife with me for valentine's day. The ribeye steak was great as always but the place was nothing near to what i have always enjoyed be it the pasay rd or jupiter st former sites. More importantly, if you want a quiet evening, not sure Melo's is a good choice to have that date, not with what i experienced last feb 14.

** late post** The price is a bit expensive but worth every cent. I love how they make you choose everything about the beef and the waiter even shows you the beef before it's cooked. Will definitely try this again (after payday hehe)

This is one of my favorite restaurants! If you want quality service and quality steaks, Melo's is the place to go! This, for me, is way better than Wagyu Stone Grill. I'll explain more on this below.

Anyway, Melo's is expensive because it's fine dining. You pay not only for the food (which is excellent) but the excellent service and the ambience as well. So if you're on a tight budget, I would suggest that you have steak elsewhere. I have read reviews on how they hated Melo's for being too pricey. In it's defense, it's fine dining, which is why it's quite expensive. Also the efficient and attentive service of the staff are commensurate with its price, in addition to the food's quality and ambience.

I love the interior of Melo's. it's very relaxing and comfortable. It's always clean here and you will never leave the place smelling like steak, unlike in Stone Grill. I don't like that I smell like my food when I eat at Stone Grill.

The comfort rooms are very clean and they not only provide you with soaps and gels but also with a wide array of colognes! Love that they have that! I have yet to see a restaurant that offers these.

The service is excellent. The servers are very attentive and you will definitely feel like a kong/queen! You really don't have to do any cooking here unlike Stone Grill. I hate the fact that I have to prep (flip meat to other side then cocer myself with the napkin) my own food at Stone Grill and yet have to pay almost the same price! At Melo's they do almost everything for you, except the actual eating. This is one of the reasons why I love it here. They cut the neat in front of you and let you choose how thick you want your meet once you've decided on the grade of meat.

During my last visit, I had a 12.1 grade 5-6 wagyu rib-eye. It tasted so good and the meat really melts in your mouth. I had mine cooked medium. For steaks, it is recommended that you never have it cooked beyond medium. The marbling of meat pertains to beef fat that melts when cooked.

The meat in itself already tasted good without the need for any sauce! But I love their gravy type sauce, I forget what it's called. Stone Grill does not have this option too.

Each meal comes with soup and your choice of siding already.

We also had the cheese and tomato bruschetta and for dessert, I had the creme brûlée. They didn't make that dessert, it's already a prepared dessert according to the staff but I had it anyway.

Coffee here is also freshly brewed and they also have a wide selection of teas.

Another great thing about Melo's is that it's open until 1 am! So I don't have to worry about it closing too early after work. I can take my time going there.

I will keep coming back to Melo's!

Price Range per person is around P2,000 to P4,000.
