I was curious enough to try this place out and although they offer other dishes, I tried their mac and cheese grilled sandwich.

What greeted me on the plate was actually 2 sandwiches with sweet potato chips and a side of maple syrup.

To be honest, the sandwich was just ok. Yes the cheese was gooey and creamy... but if you'll have just that, it would be too boring. So you have to add some honey to "spice things up".

Having to pay almost P400 is not worth it for this sandwich though 128533

After going around metro manila last weekend, we decided to have early dinner at uptown mall. It'll be my mom and sister's first time there too. Been a few weeks since my last visit and a couple of more restos have opened up but for that day we decided to try Melt.
I've always loved grilled cheese sandwiches and would even make them myself when I was a kid. So when I heard about the place that specializes in grilled cheese sandwiches, I immediately put it on my to do list!
We arrived at around 5PM which is yeah really early for dinner but it was ok 128522 we tried 3 kinds of their savory sandwiches - the bacon Mac and cheese, the Monte Cristo and the big buff. We also got an order of their butternut squash soup.
Service was great. There's even a selfie stick you can use to take pics and some props too!
Food arrived within 15 minutes and they were kind enough to cut it into 5 parts without us asking. Galing!
The Monte Cristo and bacon Mac and cheese came with maple syrup on the side. I think it really rounded off and complemented the sandwich well. The big buff on the other hand had blue cheese on the side. All of the sandwiches were served on a bed of sweet potato chips.
Food was great, really filling and servings were huge! I'm glad we came in as a group cos if it were just hubby and me, we would be umay soon.
Would like to try the roast beef next time!

Classic Grilled cheese was yummy. Not the best grilled cheese for me but their version is pretty good. Though really thick, I still liked the crunchy toasted bread. But of course, it would be so much better if the bread was a tiny bit thinner. 128517 The cheese added was not too much and it wasn't that strong so there was no umay factor. The tiny tomato soup (or sauce) on the side was a bit bitin. 128546

Curiosity kills the cat, but disappoints the Maus! (that's me hehe)
I was extremely excited to try Melt, and ordered their Beefy Chili Rice (first pic) and Beef Pot Roast. Was expecting to be overwhelmed by loads and loads of cheese but wasn't 128528 the serving was quite small (well, just enough for one per order), cheese was subtle, taste was good (but i am so underwhelmed by the lack of ooey goeey cheese 128557128557128557)
Looked over at the table beside us and gloated over their melted cheese-filled sandwiches... 128513

After trying Harry's Cafe, I went down to Uptown Mall and proceeded to Melt Grilled Cheesery which is located at the third floor veranda of the mall. 🧀

The staff greeted me and introduced me to their menu. I said that I want something light because I just had hotdog and I will meet my friend and have lunch after. 🧀

He said that I should try their bestseller Melt's Mac and Cheese Bars. For Php240.00 I got one. While waiting the staff arranged my table and asked me if I need anything after he served water. 128077🏼

The Melt's Mac and Cheese Bars arrived... 6 pieces fried Mac and Cheese Bars served with Sour Cream and Honey. The aroma smells good, I thought it's just an ordinary cheese sticks but its not... and it's not light... Each bar is very rich, flavorful and heavy. I like the honey dip much compare to sour cream, there's a tendency to become salty. 128521

After a not so good experience in Salvatore Cuomo, my |ooloo friends and I decided to go to Melt.

Melt Grilled Cheesery has an open kitchen, simple interiors and an overall modern-cozy feel. They offer pasta dishes, some appetizers, soups, salads, entrees, desserts and the star of the place - GRILLED CHEESE sandwich. They have a total of ten grilled cheese sandwiches in their menu, both sweet and savory.

We decided to try the following --

Mushroom Truffle Pasta with Parma Ham for 460Php

I am a big fan of truffle anything so it was automatic for me to order this. The pasta was al dente, the truffle cream sauce was rich and had just the right kick of that addictive truffle oil taste. Adding Parma Ham makes it more expensive but tell me, how can you resist Prosciutto and it's salty savory goodness? Loved this pasta!

Monte Cristo Grilled Cheese Sandwich for 390Php

I would love to love this sandwich because of all the right ingredients that it has - a medley of cheeses which was Melt's house blend, Parma ham, scrambled eggs, sourdough french toast - but then again something was missing. I loved that the cheese was gooey and the french toast had a good form but there wasn't enough Parma ham so it wasn't as savory as I would have wanted it to be. I wished they used some other kind of ham for a hefty meat serving instead of the expensive Parma ham. The sandwich came in with a side serving of maple syrup which was a little too sour than sweet. Maybe honey would be a better option.

Dulce De Leche Cheesecake for 235Php per slice

This slice of cheesecake was a piece of heaven! The crust was made of biscuits, resembling our childhood favorite Marie, instead of the usual graham. The cheesecake was soft towards the center because it has a lot of dulce de leche in it making it sinfully sweet, which was fine by me. You'll get a good sample of the cheesecake itself without too much dulce de leche when you scoop some towards the side. Rich, creamy and really good, something worth coming back for!

Our visit was overall good. I just hope that they'll do something about the flies in their restaurant. I know it's a common problem among Uptown Place Mall restaurants but then again, flies kill the ambiance.

Tried the classic melt and mac and cheese pasta. It was ok but not really that impressed. Mac and cheese is good but the serving is bitin.

Will you melt with me at the cheesiest place ever? 128513

Right after eating at Salvatore, the group went here for another round of cheesiness. 128518 Because the 4-cheese pizza wasn't that cheesy afterall. 128530

When they first suggested we go here after Salvatore, I wasn't really that excited. Felt like I wouldn't be enjoying anything here. This is a place that specializes in all things cheese. I LOVE GRILLED CHEESE. Gooey melted cheese comforts and excites my tummy and my eyes. But with super mixed reviews, this was never included in my must try list.

Anyway..

The place is really bright, simple and nice but a bit small. When you enter the place, first thing you'll notice is the kitchen on the left. Since the kitchen is open, you'll see them preparing the food. And then the smell, not bad but just weird. Hmm, truffle? Or strong cheese smell. 128517

It was still early for dinner so we were able to secure a table for our group. If you're planning to eat here, go a bit early. With the amount of flies in the area, you wouldn't want to sit and eat outside. Goal #1: Must have a table inside!!

With a place that specializes with all things cheese, you'd be surprised with the different kinds of dishes they offer. From the cheesy salad, pasta, soup, savory and sweet grilled cheese sandwiches to different cheesy dessert creations it's hard not to be overwhelmed with that much cheesy options. The inner rat in you must be jumping and clapping while reading the menu. 128045

Good thing, Clarissa P took charge in ordering for every one. Ordered one pasta and a savory grilled cheese sandwich. And of course, one last minute dessert order from Jai. 128518

MUSHROOM TRUFFLE PASTA (PHP395) add Parma Ham (PHP460)
- farfelle tossed in mushroom truffle cream sauce topped with arugula and aged kesong puti
- Really liked and enjoyed this pasta but it was only now while writing my review that I found out that there's arugula and kesong puti added! 128517 Looking at the picture, there were a few arugula added and the grated cheese on top must be the kesong puti? 128518
- I am not a truffle fan and I don't enjoy eating something that smells like gasoline (or nail polish remover 128514) but I do get to enjoy the ones that doesn't have the strong smell and taste. This pasta is one of them. Loved the creamy mushroom sauce! 128525 I'll order this again without the added parma ham because it was way too salty for me. 128517

MONTE CRISTO (PHP390)
- Melt's house blend of melted cheese w parma ham, aioli & scrambled eggs between french toasted sourdough and maple syrup
- Abe C was excited to try this one and even shared stories about the deep fried sandwich he used to have before. I, too, was excited to try this one. Cheesy French toast!!!!! OMG, right? 128525128525128525
- the sandwich was huge! Really huge and thick! 128563128563128563 But it was soft and I loved the french toast!!! Since the cheese, egg and parma ham were all salty, it paired oh so perfectly well with the not so sweet french toasted sourdough and maple syrup. THIS I REALLY LIKED!!! 128076🏼 Goal #2: Eat the sandwich right away. Enjoy it while it's still hot. 128521

THE DULCE DE LECHE CHEESECAKE (PHP235)
- this lucky cheesecake just received Jairus d's approval. Everyone liked and enjoyed this cheesecake. Instead of the usual graham crackers, the crust and crumbs on top are made of Marie bisuits. Something unique and unusual that worked really well! 128513128077🏼 It was good and yummy but was just too sweet for me especially the dulce de leche filling. But I did liked and enjoyed the pure cheesecake at the end part. If only they have just the plain cheesecake + the Marie biscuit crust and crumbs, I'll be in cheesecake heaven for sure!!! 128155 If ever I go back here with Ony, I wanna try the Oreo cheesecake. 9786️128513

Service was good, as well. It was fast and all servers were warm and nice. 128077🏼 But please. If they can just do something about the flies. It's hard to eat and guard all our dishes from the flies at the same time. Please please please do something!!!! 128534

But still.. I enjoyed this visit. GOOD THING we went here because I liked the food we ate here more than the ones we had at Salvatore. 128517128518

We specifically went to Uptown Mall just to eat at Melt yesterday. Was actually looking forward to eating there. Sadly, my experience was quite disappointing.
1) No one was at the front of the house. We were there at around 6:30. One of the staff approached us told us she'd come back. She never did. We were assisted by a girl who wasn't wearing a uniform, I dunno if she was the owner or if she was the manager.
2) We seated outside. We didn't mind cause it was windy. Perfect alfresco weather. BUT.. A lot of flies! They didn't even bother putting a candle on the table.
3) ordered Mac and cheese, the classic melt and the mac and cheesy bacon sandwich.
4) my sister got her mac and cheese, quite frankly, there's nothing to rave about. Mayonnaise in the mac and cheese?? Sure did taste like that. And yes, I've had different Mac and Cheese. This was.. Disappointing.
5) The Mac and cheesy bacon sandwich, NO. Bacon wasn't cooked properly. Pork was tough. You couldn't bite through the bacon without struggling. (try Buffalo Wings and things bacon burger, they put a strip of thick bacon in their bun and you could actually bite through the bacon, no struggle whatsoever). The price was too much for that kind of quality. It WAS NOT worth it.
6) Bill out. Had to give my payment to the cashier area myself, since all their staff weren't paying attention.
OVERALL, for someone who'd actually make an effort and try this place out. DON'T BOTHER.

Went here for lunch with one of my college buds before.I submerge myself in totally nerding out for the board exam. Saw the spot.ph post and being a cheese lover, I immediately asked her to try it out with me.
First, the place is in the new mall in BGC near The Palace. Uptown Mall is going to be the newest hang out place in town cos there are a lot of soon to be opening and opened restaurants already like Moe's burritos (yay). Next, what I ordered is the basic one, the first on the grilled cheese sandwiches menu plus the Pedro beer (also the basic one cause there are 3 variants, the one I ordered is smooth and really good. I'm assuming it is a local brand). The sandwiches are served with this sauce as you can see on the left side of my platter and that sauce is to die for! There's honey over the sandwich as well and it blends well with the bread and the cheese. A bit pricey but it is worth the price.

My friend ordered pasta which is hella done good as well. I am definitely coming back for the other sandwiches and the Pedro beer. It's just the best. The interior would keep you coming back too 128150

I love cheese!

Melt grilled cheesery will definitely melt you heart with their warm meals and cozy ambiance. I love their beefy cheesy rice, ratatouille and classic melt. We haven't tried their desserts.. We're too full to have one but will definitely be back to try their other sandwiches and desserts

And oh, forgot to mention the chef may also melt their hearts (too shy to take a photo of him just go there and see for yourselves 128541)

Got the mac & cheese bar which is basically deep fried mac & cheese logs served with sour cream and honey. That is pure genius.
Also got the onion soup which was ok but nothing spectacular.

I will go back to try their salad and sammiches soon. Will let you know!

Went here last week with my boyfriend and ordered tomato soup, ratatouille and of course, the classic melt. They asked us if we wanted the tomato soup to be split into two, and we said yes. The tomato soup is very tasty and goes well with the classic melt. The ratatouille was also good. I must say it can be a little bit pricey for such simple dishes, but for the love of cheese and impeccable ingredients, this place is a must try! Although their service still needs to improve when it comes to attentiveness.

A Risk Worth Taking - A Boholano on the Loose 128514

Of all the 4 dishes we ordered for the night, the most memorable for me was their bbq pork priced at PhP430 with shredded cabbage, corn kernels and potato wedges which were very complimentary to the full umami flavor of the pork. Couldn't agree more with Jayson J that the burnt bits were even the best part of the dish. It adds oomph to the overall taste. (I am actually reading from the receipt for my cheat sheet Kristin A gave me haha 128586).

As for the chorizo risotto balls (PhP 265, 4pcs), I wasn't able to taste the chorizo I was expecting, too bad. I'm not so sure if I totally enjoyed it because I was rather attuned to our riveting conversations at the table so it wasn't as remarkable. Perhaps the honey sauce could've been a saving grace for it.

On the other hand, the mushroom truffle pasta at PhP 395 did not disappoint, flavor-wise. The pasta was well-cooked and was generously laced with truffle.

Finally, their classic melt (PhP 275), which was strategically photographed by Dennis O haha, excelled in the photo department but not so much in taste. Surely the added chips on the side (purple yam chips? 128076) makes it an interesting bite but perhaps it could've been best enjoyed while the cheeses are still melting like what Jay said. The sauce was rather peculiar than enhancing.

The place was easy to find, relaxing, staff were attentive bringing with them unique water containers in dark-colored bottles.

But the best part of it really, was seeing the true purpose of looloo as it unfolds to the community of reviewers all around the PH - bringing together strangers from all walks of life and simply enjoying their company. That's it!
