I've been a Ramen addict for such a long time and i thought i've already found my best ramen place that it is pointless to try others (just read my previous reviews). But boy was I wrong!!! I've heard rave reviews of this Mendokoro that I have to try it.. Best decision ever that it erased the waiting time and rainy night gloomy day blues.. I loved it!!! 100841008410084️ We ordered Shoyu and Tantanmen Ramen.. Ramen is love.. The place was great because of the bar style where you see them cooking.. although after leaving the resto you'll smell like smoke but that is ok 128522.. This will definitely be one of my top ramen go to.

Just when I thought my fondness for ramen is slowly dying down, I met this slurp-able goodness. 128525128588

At first, the experience is less than ideal especially if you're the type who like to take time with your meals and have conversations while eating. It's like an "eat & run" concept as we fondly call it where you order and pay at the cashier first then wait in line for your number to be called. Give your meal ticket and wait for your order. There's also no guarantee that you'll be seated with your whole group as they let in a certain number of people depending on the available seats. There's just one big bar table and you see your food being prepared right in front of you.

With that said, once you receive your ramen, be prepared to be delighted! This easily wins as the best ramen I have tasted by a mile! I ordered Shoyu Ramen (P410) and for me, it is the perfect kind of savoury taste and one can't be compared IMO.

Noodles :1108811088110881108811088
The noodles had the right kind of chewiness, it'a little thick which I like. I think it's made from scratch too.

Broth: 1108811088110881108811088
It hits the prefect balance of being savoury but not too overpowering to the point of a lingering taste even after you had coffee after lunch. I usually don't finish the broth whenever I eat ramen but this one's too good to pass up on.

Chasu: 💯💯💯💯💯💯

Stars aren't enough to rate this! I regret not ordering an extra plate of chasu. It's a slightly charred melt-in-your-mouth piece of meat. Whichever ramen you decide to try when you go here, just remember to order this!

Serving: 110881108811088
If you compre this to other ramen you can buy for the same price, the serving is smaller, but the taste makes it more than worth it. My officemate ordered soba and the serving was quite hefty (sorry no pic!)

Ambiance: 11088110881108811088
Like I mentioned earlier, there's quite a pressure to eat quickly especially during peak hours. I've never been to Japan but I have been told (and from tv, blogs and countless articles about Japan) that this set-up is quite popular there so I think it contributes to the experience as well. And to be honest, after your first bite, nothing matters anymore. 128513128521

Although you'll easily spend around P1000 if you order other items from the menu, this place is definitely worth the splurge! Can't wait to go back, and I'm definitely not missing my extra plate of chasu. 128523

Ramen night with friends...

I ordered | Tantanmen. Creamy and spicy. Very rich and flavorful - party in my mouth! So delicious... Still the best! No question about it.

My friends ordered |Shoyu. I can tell that they enjoyed and loved it.

Went around 8pm and there was a line of people waiting. It took us about 1 hour to be seated. But it doesn't matter because it was worth the time waiting and we got more than the value of what you paid for because of their excellent service.

Because ramen is life, a second visit to Mendokoro Ramenba in Makati was a must for me! It also helps that I work in the same area so I can actually walk to this place. Actually, I’m not sure if that’s such a good thing after all! Hahaha.

I really like the how the place is set up and by that I mean the need to, upon getting inside, fall in line, order and pay. I like how you pay before eating because once you’ve ordered and paid, all you have to do is sit, hand over your order slip, wait for your food, have the time of your life because the ramen is awesome, and then leave!

For this visit, I tried the Shio Ramen and I still ordered the usual Gyoza. It’s cool that they have a serving size of three pieces for their gyoza because I observed that a lot of customers eat here alone and a plate with five pieces of gyoza is too much, especially since you have a bowl of ramen to go with it. I’d love to try their Tsukemen next, I never knew they had that. My last trip to Mendokoro was a while back so I’m not sure if I remembered the last menu I saw correctly or maybe I just wasn’t paying much attention.

Service was very prompt as usual and the food was really, really good. There really isn’t much I can say about this ramen joint other than anyone who hasn’t tried it should set a date and head on over there! 128523128149

What a perfect way to spend this rainy ⛈ Tuesday afternoon with a bowl of ramen 127836 ....

I’ve heard many positive reviews about Mendokoro and I’m so happy that I was able to finally try this popular ramen place in Makati! Braved the traffic and the rain just to try their ramen. Good thing it didn’t disappoint me! I like the Super Chashu - P530128156128156128156128156128156 with additional order of Aji Tamago - P90 128155128155128155128155 and Gyoza - P120 128154128154128154128154128154

The best thing is that there’s no long queue around 3:30pm! 128521 Yey!

Perfect for a random date night! :) I would say this one here is a "value for money" choice. The ramen was perfect. The ambiance seemed cozy despite being such a small space.

Anyone who knows me well knows that I loooooove ramen, and I mean love. I could eat it everyday (*sigh* if only I wasn’t on a never-ending diet hahaha), but yeah I love it as much as my mac and cheese. Mendokoro Ramenba is by far the best ramen place I’ve been to in Manila. No, I’m not overhyping it - this is legit stuff so go there now!! It’s located in Salcedo, near Wildflour and La Creperie. It isn’t hard to find but parking is difficult (as usual). It’s best to park somewhere and just walk to the place, that always works for me when I’m eating around Makati.

You know the food’s good when you paid so much for it but didn’t even complain right after eating it. Yes, Mendokoro is a pricey place so don’t go everyday but do go when you feel like you deserve it haha we all work hard so treat yoself HAHA during this visit I was with a big group of friends and everyone enjoyed it. One of them was even converted! She didn’t like ramen before Mendokoro so yes, I think that sums it up.

I think this is one of those pricey places where you really get what you pay for. I mean, they simmer that pork for super long hours which gives you THAT broth and THAT tender pork so it’s totally worth it.

It’s also better to go these days because the wait time isn’t as bad anymore so if you haven’t checked it out, go!!

We ordered Super Chasu (530), Shoyu (410) , Tantanmen (440) and Gyoza (5pcs for 200).

I have tasted what some would claim as the best ramen! I really liked the top part of the super chasu, it was juicy, flavorful todo talaga! 128523 the gyoza is also thumbs up. Just some caution as the super chasu has chopped red 🌶🌶🌶 on it so if you cannot handle the heat then you may request to have it lessened or removed.

All in all i can say it is worth the buzz and as pricey as it may seem, solb ka naman.

HANDS DOWN BEST RAMEN EVER!!! 💯💯 Will always always always be worth the wait. 128155128155

If you really want to try this place out, make sure to go early and prepare yourself to wait for at least an hour especially during peak hours (aka ALMOST ALL THE TIME! 128517).

Get the gyoza, super chashu, and garlic ramen! 128521💯

Yushoken isdatchu??? Haha

Well, I went out of the way from office -> home to eat here for one reason, since Yushoken is only abt 10 mins away from me anyway. And that reason is their off-menu item only at this branch, the Garlic Ramen. I actually heard them tell the cook "Miso Ramen w/ Garlic" so I guess thats what it is!

A simple touch to their miso ramen base offering: pounded fresh garlic and a few garlic chips. Simple, yet it actually made a difference! Ya'll know how garlic tastes so imagine that extra layer of flavor with the miso broth. It was sooo good! Other than that, i liked how they maintained consistency in terms of quality and general taste. If i closed my eyes its as if i was eating Yushoken ramen!

Found it. Most of my foodie friends have already eaten here. It was about time I found out if there was substance behind the hype
We made it a point to be there before 11. There was a queue already. Parking was still ok. Unica hija got a slot almost immediately. It pays to be early .

Anyway , first impressions :

The word Posh comes to mind. Perhaps this was because I was expecting it to look like those hole in the wall ramen joints in Japan.

Gleaming horse shoe shaped wooden table with matching wooden chairs and an open industrial type kitchen with a ginormous range hood right smack in the middle, dominates the place. There were only 24 chairs (if I counted it correctly). Purple wall on the right and wall festooned with flowers on the left.

Inside Mendokoro, the queue leads you to the cashier. There is a black and white instruction on the wall for the uninitiated or first-timers like me and the unica plus a big menu card .

Yes it was self service. It was simple enough. You pay cash or via credit card after choosing your order from the huge menu card on the wall. You then get your receipt and order ticket and get directed to your seat.

Each chair had a complete set of napkins, chopsticks, condiments and a silver flask for cold water. Kind of reminded me of Ichiran in Shinjuku Japan , where every possible thing you may need was within reach. Here though there was no personal cubicle to give you privacy.

But like Ichiran, Mendokoro was clever too. You get to concentrate on your ramen and therefore finish it almost immediately. We were there like 30 minutes tops hahaha. Turnover was fast. You do feel a bit pressured. The next batch of 24 was standing on the side inside the resto waiting for whoever will vacate their chairs kinda like Casaa during my college days in UP Diliman hehehe

Per my foodie friends' recommendation , unica and I ordered super chashu, extra tamago and 5 pcs gyoza

We were getting hungry with all the smells wafting from the kitchen. I can see my chashu being seared in an iron cast pan while another chef was deep frying our gyoza. We didn't wait that long.

Almost immediately, the tamago was the first to be served.

Followed in a couple of minutes by gyoza....

Then finally our Super Chasu Ramen...

I took my time admiring the smoking hot bowl in front of me. The aroma was heavenly. The broth looked rich and milky. That slab of seared chashu was drool-worthy. I dipped my chopsticks in the soup and twisted some noodles in it . They looked thicker that what I was used to and al dente. Then using the white spoon scooped a mouthful of broth. Rich, delicious, layers of flavor. Yum!

The chashu had a bit of a crunch from the searing. It was tender and full of flavor. I loved the parts where there were fat. So sinful. The noodles had a beautiful texture and were al dente. The tamago which we ordered extra at P90 was beautiful to behold and quite scrumptious combined with the ramen.

The 5 pc gyoza 200 was delicious as well.

Unica hija and I share that bowl of super chashu. Despite its sublime taste, I really can not finish a bowl of ramen on my own. All in all with our order of one ramen, 5 pcs gyoza and two extra tamago, we spent P900 +

Verdict : The hype was justified. This just might be the best ramen joint yet Ive been to in Metro Manila.

Most definitely coming back with the piggery and the handsome hubby in tow.

MENDOKORO WILL ALWAYS AND FOREVER HAVE MY HEART.

I don't usually change order preferences when it comes to ramen because I've always been afraid of disappointment. I'm a very huge ramen fan and I couldn't risk my heart of disappointment.

I usually go for Tantanmen in Mendokoro because I love spicy and spicy is life. But there's this one time that I craved for something different and gave in to the idea of ordering Shio Ramen instead.

Gahd, I was so happy!!!! Mendokoro didn't disappoint me again!!!! My heart is so full and happy 10084

Another entry for 'masarap ang libre'. Lalo na kung expensive. 128522

Place: great ambience, smoky (due to gyoza), contemporary ramen bar.

Service: Pay first at the counter and wait for order # to be called. When coming in group, it is better to get seated separately. Queue is very long especially during lunch hours. Better line up early or after lunch or dinner to get served immediately.

Food: I ordered tantanmen. Creamy and mild spicy. They have chili oil and chili powder on the side if you want that extra kick. Serving is not that large compared to other ramen bar. Not an expert on ramens, pero masarap siya. 🤤

We also had gyoza, light to taste even when dipped into its sauce. Does not have that 'too much garlic' taste to it. 128077

They do not have fork, so think twice if you are not into chopsticks. Sorry but its hard not to overhear the girl next to me asking for it. Feeling close kami, but far enough para hindi 'magkasikuhan'. 128517

Will definitely eat here again, kahit hindi libre. 128514

SERVICE:

Tried them at an odd hour to avoid the long line that we had to endure the last time.

Today though the entire restaurant is like a furnace inside because their AC is busted. Apparently for a few days now according to the cashier. Considering how much traffic they get I would have imagined that this would have been dealt with with a ton of urgency.

Anyway, on to the food. Got the Super Chasu and Gyoza tonight. I'm hoping for a more positive experience compared to the last time I was here (and waited for almost 90 minutes) which influenced my review.

The Super Chasu was great. The Pork piece is cooked well and seasoned perfectly. This makes it so worth it, considering that it's just a tad bit more compared to the regular fare. I'm still not a fan of the broth that reminds me of a certain brand of mushroom soup though.

The Gyoza is up there amongst the greats. Not the best in my opinion but a close second or third. The trick is the way they cook it with the custom grill that really does it's job. I can eat tons of this if I had to. No fat and the herb to meat ratio is definitely on point.

This was a better experience in terms of not having to wait long but I have to admit that I rushed my meal because I couldn't last in the heat. I will definitely try them again, hopefully minus the facility issue, but will have to mark them down for now.

If you're in the Makati area and are craving for good ramen, this is definitely the place to be.

I never really liked ramen 128584 until THE DAY I TRIED MENDOKORO RAMENBA!!

I one day decided to push aside my semi-baseless prejudice and asked Roy T for his recommendation on a really good ramen place. This is the place he recommended.

We went on a Saturday at around 5:30 PM and a little line had already formed ahead of us. It got longer as the evening wore on, so I suggest maybe coming early. You pick what you want, pay, wait for your number to be called, be seated on one of the chairs at the bar and then give the order slip to the staff.

Got the shoyu ramen (P410) and their 3 piece gyoza (P120). Orders arrived after like 10 minutes. Grabbed a spoon and just about blacked out after that 128514128514 Was transported to ramen heaven! The broth was rich, creamy and very flavorful, noodles were firm, pork was thick and tender and legit all the elements combined to form a darn delicious bowl of ramen. The best bowl I've had and probably will have for a while. 10084️ P.S. gyoza was good, too!!

Woohoo! Finally, tried the best ramen house in Makati called Mendokoro Ramenba situated in Salcedo, Makati. But before that, I listened to my co-Team Kaladkarin Marc on what time should I go 'coz the place is always full during peak hours. He said that I should go between 2-4PM on weekdays. Bingo! I was seated when I entered the place. And another friend told me that there's an off-the-menu ramen called Super Chashu which I got for Php530.00 and additional egg for Php90.00. After I pay at the counter, my ramen arrived in 10 minutes. When I first saw my ramen topped with Chashu almost a size of the bowl... I only said WOW and had my first sip... then it was gone after 20 minutes 128514 Busog!
