I love anything that is inside bread bowls (especially cheese). I came here specifically for Clam Chowder in Bread Bowl. It's not cheese but still inside bread!
The taste was pleasant but very, very mild. I think Philippines has changed my perception of spicy and fragrant food. For an average Joe this soup is probably very vibrant, though. However, the idea of a soup inside bread is interesting. The thick milky broth has a lot of tiny potato cubes, which makes it very savoury. That said, I cannot commend their bread selection. It's baguette type of bread, which is nothing special talaga. Tinapay lang. They could've bought some decent bread from L'Artisan if they don't know how to bake it 128539

I've also tried Hot Sumiyaki Coffee (Syphon). I really enjoyed it with gatas at muscovado. The taste was very mild and tender (which is a good thing for me when it comes to coffee). The price of P200 is quite steep for a tiny cup, but maybe it's worth it. I don't really know if the brewing method makes the difference. To me a lot of coffee tastes the same and I just wanted to try something new (the way they syphon it is a mini show).

The bill was insane for what was ordered. 2 meals, and 2 drinks would result you in P1200. Maybe I'll go there for coffee lang. The food isn't worth a visit.

There are times when I would want to pair my food with beer most specially during dinner and it’s just so exciting as they’re teaming up with Baird Beer as they’ve curated a pair that’ll best suit their food and would enhanced both their flavors. The event took place in SM Aura, BGC.

1st course: Skewered Sausage + Numazu Lager - The savory sausage with a bit of tanginess to it matches the soft and round taste of the beer. Numazu Lager is perfect for people who does not want a strong bitter flavor but has a snappy finish. There’s three sauces available for your sausage as well which are barbecue, mustard and ketchup for additional flavor.

2nd Course: Crostini and Spinach Cheese Dip (Php 220) + Wheat King Whit - The Spinach dip was so creamy and again matches the sprite and fruity flavor of Wheat King Whit. I think this is perfect combination. I love that the beer was balanced with the creaminess of the dish.

3rd course: Seafood Scampi(Php450) + Rising Sun Pale Ale - Love that this wasn’t too oily. Shrimp was tender. Flavorful! The seafood was perfect and the Rising Sun Pale Ale’s brisk and refreshing citrus-hop character was perfect as it washed away anything fishy in this dish. This would probably be my favorite beer among the six.

4th course: Grilled Reuben Sandwich (Php480) + Wasabi Sabi Japan Pale Ale - I so love the Griller Reuben Sandhwich. The sandwich was toasted perfectly. The Corned Beef slab was tender and mouthwatering. The Wasabi Sabi Pale Ale has that Japanese flavor of Wasabi and Green Tea combined along with the Indian Pale Ale. There a herbal yet strong flavor in this beer.

5th course: Steak Salpicao (Php750) + Teikoku IPA - The Ribeye Salpicao was a bit chewy already but the sauce was delectable. Teikoku IPA has that strong malt flavor that matches the dish. A stronger taste of all flavors.

6th course: Affogato (Php250) + Shimaguni Stout - I love all the bittersweet flavors in here. The thick and smooth vanilla ice cream was washed away by the Espresso shot and then comes the Dark roasty dryness punctuated by a hint of smokiness. I find the beer really bitter. I could say that the flavors of the dishes plus the beers complimented each other.

I appreciate all the pairings as they intensify and/or lessen the flavors making it well balanced. But with all the pairings, I enjoyed the 4th,
5th and 6th the most.

I was invited here for Baird Beer x UCC's event. Where we can have the taste of the savoury dishes of UCC and it's Baird Beer pair. :D

1. Hungarian Sausage paired w/ Baird's Numazu Lager
128074128074128074128074
- What I liked about UCC's Hungarian Sausage is it's not too salty and it's not that spicy. Balanced.

2. Spinach & Cheese Dip w/ toasted garlic (P220) paired w/ Baird's Wheat King Wit
128074128074128074128074128074 (Second Best!)
- Spinach w/ cheedar cheese topped with mozzarella. Salty taste is not overpowering despite of the combined cheese taste of moz and ched. The spinach gives a nice texture to it too.

3. Seafod Scampi (P450) paired w/ Baird's Rising Sun Pale Ale
128074128074128074128074128074 + 128074 (First best!)
- The garlic-y flavor that does not overpower the seafood taste. Not salty. Overall the best!!! It's a must try!!! :D

4. Grilled Reuben (P480) paired w/ Baird's Wabi Sabi Japan Pale Ale
128074128074128074128074 (Third Best!)
- Corned beef goodness. Tasty dressing and cheese. :D

5. Steak Salpicao (P750) paired w/ Baird's Teikoku
128074128074128074128074

6. Affogato (P250) w/ Shimaguni Stout
128074128074128074128074
- I enjoyed the pistachio nut and the vanilla ice cream. Although I find the espresso shot's taste too powerful. Well... Because... Espresso. Hahahahhhahaha! :D

Overall I enjoyed the dishes along with their beer pairing. My vote really goes to #3 with it's beer pair.

That's is all! :D

Before covering a new restaurant in SM Aura, I took a pit stop here as I arrived early. Since UCC always provides a relaxing and top of the line service paired with comfort food and high quality beverages, it was a no brainer to pick this place.

If you are looking for a quiet spot, this location is ideal too, as it is situated at the very end of one side of SM Aura.

The Mentore’ brand is about combining the best of other UCC concepts in one roof. And here they also take coffee experience to another level. They have Syphon, Pour Over, French Press, Espresso and Water Drip varieties.

On top of warm coffee, I got to have one of the many Japanese style American pasta creations. Their Smoked Salmon Linguine was unbelievably creamy and screaming with taste of the sea. Its portions were aplenty too, making it a must have dish when you get the chance to visit as well.

I also had classic French Onion Soup and a delightful bowl of bright, nutrient filled Fruit Bowl with Yogurt and natural honey.

The three dishes I got portrayed the vast choices Mentore’ offers. If you are looking for premium meal choices on an area that’s easy to love, this could be one of your favorite destinations.

Went here last night. I was alone so I wanted to have coffee or tea at a quiet place. And this coffee shop is just that. It's situated at the Level 2 of SM Aura tucked away at the far end where Uniqlo is. I keep forgetting there's UCC at Aura.

So I got matcha latte (P170) and a kobe baked pudding (P180). The matcha is really strong and not too sweet. I love it! The baked pudding tastes like leche flan but it is not too sweet and not as creamy. I still enjoyed it. I want to try their other cakes. They have a promo, if you buy a halo-halo cake, you get a free coffee. I might try that next time and get a syphon sumiyaki coffee.

Started the day with some caffeine and since it's super hot, I decided to get some iced coffee. But of course, a special day deserves a special one so it was my perfect chance to try UCC's Kori Kohi!

Kori Kohi is basically iced coffee cubes served with warm milk and syrup on the side. It's up to you how concentrated you want your coffee. Add a little milk, wait for the iced coffee cubes to melt and you'll get a coffee rich cooler. Pour milk all the way to the rim and you'll get a milder coffee kick. The sugar level is also up to you to control.

Since I like my coffee milky and sweet today, I poured in all the syrup and almost all the milk! It's refreshing and won't give you a watered down iced coffee because - coffee ice cubes 128588🏻

This is the perfect summer iced coffee! Instant favorite!

Was looking for a coffee place after quite a heavy dinner. Decided to go here given the foot traffic in the general area as this place is situated at the end of the floor. So we had the place to ourselves at that time.

I was expecting a slightly lower quality of service because the place was split into two, one of which is the area outside. I was expecting their focus to the outside area to be slightly lower than the area inside. Anyway, service was great. We didnt have to stand up to wave to staff inside the store as we had one in charge of the outside area and was outside majority of the time.

I was browsing through the menu when i decided to get the four berries yogurt smoothie. Such a dummy. I forgot i wanted coffee. Haha i got too excited with the yogurt smoothies. Haha the four berries is a mix of four berries with honey. It wasn't heavy, contradictory to my expectations. That was actually a good thing since again i just came from a heavy dinner.

I liked the experience, as the surrounding area was not that busy and was quiet. This allowed us to carry on with our conversations without really needing to shout. Great! :)

That's it for now. Take care everyone! :) stay mahusay!

We just ordered UCC's House Blend, our usual coffee whenever we crave for an afternoon coffee fix. The price is higher than the regular UCC Cafe and the staff are not as friendly like UCC cafe branches in Banawe, Lucky Chinatown, Tomas Morato, Shangri-la and many other UCC Cafe branches ... I wonder 128556

Had dessert and their usual brewed coffee here with my friend our Nagi binging. I do love my ramen but the saltiness and savoriness usually lingers on the tongue so I need to flush it out with coffee or sweets. I'm not a sweet person but it was a necessity #excuses 128517

Got their sumiyaki brewed coffee (which was very strong, which I loved) and their red velvet cake to share. I loved the cake because it wasn't too sweet. Just the right amount to hit the sweet spot without you feeling extremely guilty after.

Place is a little small but there's an open area in front where the rich "titas" and "Lola's" usually stay and mingle. 128514

Been here 3times already. But the last one which I and my college friends met was last December 26.

We really wanted to stay here because of the very nice ambience but there's no available space. Later we checked again, still no vacant seats. And finally, after our fourth we got our table.

Good service. Good food and good ambience. Relaxing and quiet.

Caught up with one of my nurses from when I had my appendectomy last year. Chose this place to hang cause she's medyo sosyal. She's probably sick of the regular coffee shops. Haha.

First time to actually try the coffee here. My last review was about their food which was so-so.

I ordered an Iced Caramel Cappuccino. Kinda pricey at P180, but it was worth it. The glass was tall, and it wasn't too strong nor too sweet. It hit the spot just right. 128522

As Ive probably said in my last review of the place, it has a really nice balcony area. Nice place to chill.

My go to place for coffee whenever I'm in SM Aura!

Ordered the usual cafe Americano and Iced caramel cappuccino for our coffee and decided to try one of their cakes. Got the Halo halo cake! Very filipino cake.

Cake was good! Generous filling inside the cake. Everything that you see in a halo halo (leche flan, beans, macapuno, ube, bananas, langka etc) is also in the cake! 128525 Cake was very moist and soft. Yummy icing! There were also two scoops of Mango ice cream and cornflakes on the side 128069 Price is 250. Not bad for a good dessert!

Kudos to the servers for being consistently attentive to the customers 128522

UCC or Mentore Cafe is a very enjoyable place. Their menu is extensive and varied for a coffee shop anyway.

Get a coffee any coffee but be warned, this is the kind of coffee that keeps you awake and makes you realize how far a Starbucks is from being intense flavor! Personally I go for the Afogato since it is half a desert and half a pure espresso!

To eat, you will enjoy their sea food salad, their pastas and all the deserts are very good. Their version of a crepe is interesting and fresh.

Good place to relax after the sun is down, there are tables on both inside and outside so it is smoking friendly.

The only waste of space is their mini-golf doesn't make sense anyway.

First time to walk into a cafè and be greeted in Japanese. At first I just thought I didn't hear them properly until they said "Arigatoblablablah" when I left.

I had no Idea that this place has Japanese dishes. The name nor the look of the place has anything Japanesey. The place has a really nice view though.

Did not order a Japanese dish. I had the chicken something gratin. It wasn't really that special. Penne with white sauce, mozzarella, chicken, bacon and some other stuff.

There was a lot of mozzarella but was concentrated at the middle. Which isn't bad as well. 128522128077

Also had the choco berry milkshake I think it was. Didn't get to finish it as the taste of the berries were too strong.

Their coffee really looked good, although expensive, I'll still give it a try next time.

And my treat starts here...

Almost all my future reviews are because of my recent promotion. 128513 Wee! And so here is my first treat. For dad! 128513

I invited him to eat at Mentore. Well he actually teased me on treating him. 128514 Mentore! My new found favorite cafe. We tried their savoury dishes. He got shrimp penne gratin while I had shrimp pilaf plate and caramel cappuccino.

Haven't tasted what dad got. But I must say the serving was enough for the price. Tho he commented that he can make one like that.

The shrimp pilaf plate was like an 'okoy' or tempura, tho they used small pieces of shrimps and veggies. Really good! Crispy and tasty. Comes with fried rice and side salad. 128076 The caramel cappuccino was not my type. It was a bit bitter for me so I asked for anything that could make it sweeter. Their whipped cream was still a bomb! 128513128513128513 Thick and creamy.

Service was fast and staff were accommodating and polite. 128513

Tip. They have a couple of promos. Always make asking a habit. 128513
