Had a company stratplan in tagaytay and was really excited to discover and try some of the best of tagaytay. But end up following where the majority of the oldies want to eat hehe..

Good thing I liked the food here in MarBen and also not that too expensive. Their Bulalo large serving was so big and I love that the litid were soft as a jelly. The draw back for their bulalo some part was tough to chew but some were so tender good. The Crispy Tawilis is a must try. One of the best tawilis in tagaytay. Their sisig was also delicious.

Overall I love the food here! 128522

Tagaytay trip is not complete without having a Bulalo. Doesn't know where to eat Bulalo, we just went here right away coz lotsa people were here at that moment. Haha

We ordered their Bulalo and it was good, not the best Bulalo I ever had but the meat was tender. Their Bulalo looks pale, the veggie wasn't that green. I wished they added potatoes, corns and baguio beans on it. The "sabaw" was blunt that you need to add patis on it. We also had their tawilis which I like.

The service was good naman.

Who can resist this?!!! BULALO overlooking taal! Oh yeah! Ate this along with the raindrops and foggy afternoon in tagaytay... So perfect timing to sip in this hot flavorful soup!

Anyway, Merben is not a perfect spot for the view of taal, but food is ok here.
Pweydie na!

There's only one thing you have in mind whenever TAGAYTAY is mentioned or a part of a conversation, and that is their famous food offering ---BULALO.

There are plenty of restaurants in Tagaytay that offer this in their menus, like in Leslie's but I have to tell you, the price of this famed recipe is way over the top! Well maybe it compensates on the popularity of the place or the restaurant, I think. But this is way too much for others.

And then there's MerBen. It's more of a canteen/carinderia vibe, but this vibe didn't affect the quality and taste of the famed bulalo. And yes the prices on their menu are a lot cheaper! Aside from their tasty and mouth-watering bulalo, they also offer crispy tawilis which is really true to their name, crispy from the outside and the inside even if you dip it on vinegar. They also offer tapsilog, dangsilog and the likes that will suit your taste buds whatever mood you are in.

Aside from their delicious menu, they have also nipa huts build around their place for guests to experience the windy weather that Tagaytay has to offer. This is a great hangout with your friends and your family, having good conversations while drowning yourselves to the goodness of bulalo and crispy tawilis, with either a coke or a beer beside your plates, and trying to battle the cold weather out of yourselves.

They offer classic filipino dish. We ordered bulalo and crispy pata. Now who can say no to that? Haha They have a nice laid back place with several nipa huts / "kubo". And oh, I like the fact that the serving size matches the price. 128077128077128077

Hello again looloo! It's been a long time since I've submitted a review ever since I went on vacation overseas! Hehe!

Anyway, I love their bulalo here! Very authentic! You just have to eat it fast or else the grease will come out! The price is not that bad too! Just right for the amount of serving that they serve. You can add your own mixture of fish sauce & calamansi if you want but it'll be delicious already without it. 128521

60 mins before order came in. Bulalo cold. Ensaladang manga, buo mga hiwa. Karekare is only kare. Waiters are aligaga and clueless. Crispy tawilis is not crispy and fried rice looks anemic. Sisig is not crispy. Worst place ever. Value for money is not worth it. Heed my warning.

After Wake boarding at Nuvali, went straight to Tags because it's on our plan and because we haven't eaten our lunch yet (it's almost past 4pm) and we're all craving for Bulalo. 128514

While on our way, we saw the Starbucks that has a buwis buhay para sa parking area at bago makarating sa store nila. Hahaha. Masyadong steep yung daan pababa. Ayaw naman namin magbuwis buhay. Hahaha! We've been out the whole day from 7am to 4am (Another review for this 4am biglaang Timog)

Missed Leslie's because all of us are too busy laughing to each other and with all our stories (grabe pala kami magchikahan). That's fine. Hehe. Went to Sky Ranch expecting that Leslie's there is now open but unfotunately, hindi pa din. 128532 pero okay lang, we didn't pay for the parking fee kase hindi naman kami nagpark. Nagkamali lang. Haha! Pero bumalik kami after having our lunch.128540

So, along the way, we saw this Bulalohan, we didn't expected anything special on this place, it's a two floor canteen, overlooking view (pwede na even though hindi nakatapat mismo sa taal) .

Ordered Special Bulalo for 450 pesos and Crispy Pata for 450 pesos. Mango shake for my drinks! 7 cups of rice knowing na lima lang kami at nadagdagan siya ng 2 or 3 pa ata so ganun kami nasarapan sa lunch namin? Hehe.

The Bulalo was superb!!! They even added more sabaw and it's hot!!! Hindi yung pre-heated and hindi nagsesebo agad kase diba may mga ganun. Hehe. The Crispy Pata... It's a WOW for us! When Thrish said "ang konti ng sibuyas (referring to the sawsawan of Crispy Pata)", when the waiter came back, he gave us another sawsawan w/o asking him and more more onions! Hehehe. Together with the Bulalo kase sabi namin ihiwa na para mapablis buhay namin. Hahahaha!

All in all, our bill was less than 1,300 I think?

I called this lunch, our deadly super late lunch. Hahaha. Bakit hind ako natawa? Shocks, ang corny!! Hehehe. 128514
