Definitely 2016 Phil tatler Modern Filipino cuisine. Better execution of traditional pinoy comfort food. Kare kare, laing, stuffed squid , scallop and tilapia.

Horrible service! It took them 35 mins to being out our appetizer baked scallops. Then after 5 mins they told us our other order is not available! We just had to leave right after consuming the appetizer. .

Service is crap. We were first in line and then were assigned to a crappy table because there was another party composed of foreign looking individuals.
Walked out! Will definitely no longer patronize this restaurant!

Cai D took me to dinner as his treat for my birthday at Mesa. I have never tried this resto before but I heard from people that it has the best tasting laing. Cai swore to it so that's one of the two dishes that we ordered, the other is Pork Binagoongan.

The place is small and busy and it took some time before our orders were served. We had the two-way laing, which is basically two versions of laing, one is spicier the other has more coconut milk. Of the two, I preferred the spicy laing. Now that I've tasted their laing, I can understand why they are famous. It was definitely one if not the best laing I have ever had.

But I was more in love with the pork binagoongan. The pork meat were crunchy, which reminded me of that famous diniguan of Kanin Club. Cai loved it too, that even ordered a cup of extra rice.

Mesa has easily made its way into my list of favorite Filipino restaurants. We only had two dishes but both were great. I cannot wait to go back to try more of their food.

Well we needed a quick fix for dinner and our tired legs brought us to Mesa..... So in a fast phase we ordered for Tinapa Rice, the youthful Crispy Pata and Two Way Laing..... and luckily it wasn't a hit and miss moment 12852210084128077🏻 the Crispy Pata stood up to its texture and taste while the Laing was seved in 2 versions, nice! Tinapa Rice was also not too salty, just right12852210084128077🏻

Now I'm stuffed from our yummy meal....100841008410084️ what a satisfying Mesa experience 12852210084128077🏻

Deep Fried everything! If you like Filipino food that is deep fried in oil, this is your spot. We had 13 in our party for a post grad meal on a Saturday mid-day. We ordered Crispy Pata, roaster chicken, deep fried chicken, salad, a platter of seafood, BBQ skewers, BBQ chicken, then deep fried fish and some other dishes. My Filipino family loves it. Good sized portions. Lots of waiters. Not my cup of tea but my family would do it again in a heart beat. We drank house water. We paid P7000 +.

I was craving for Tim Ho Wan but my sister didn’t want to eat there so we had to look for another restaurant for lunch. I allowed my mom pick where they wanted to eat since I wasn’t in the mood to think of other suggestions anymore. 🙄 My family loves Filipino food so no wonder she chose Mesa.

It was my first time to eat here and sad to say, I didn’t find it that impressive. We passed by this place and their SM Aura branch several times before but it never looked appealing to me.

I ordered the Sizzling Blue Marlin and plain rice. The blue marlin was grilled then glazed with sweet soya sauce. Nothing special. The glaze was a bit too sweet for my liking. It tasted “malansa” as well. 128529 My sister ordered sizzling sisig with rice. It’s served with egg but she requested them to just fry it sunny side up and serve it on the side because she hates mixing sisig with egg. Her sisig was served sizzling hot, and a bit toasted. She liked this because it was savory and crunchy. The parentals had Asparagus Tips with fermented sauce and toasted garlic, and Baby Squid sauteed in Olive oil because they wanted something healthy. The serving size looked small but tastewise, they didn’t seem to have any complaints. Naubos naman nila e.

I would've been happier if we went to Sentro or Recipes instead. 128527

This was a very last minute decision because we originally had a reservation and we pre ordered our lunch at Rub in Makati. Due to an unfortunate issue wee had to move...

Nevertheless, we ended up here since majority of our guests are foreign and loves Filipino food.

We ordered the following:
1. Garlic chicken- it was amazing! I love sweet good! It was the right crunch with the right glaze.
2. Braised beef- it was definitely soft and the taste was great! I was surprised.
3. Inihaw platter- this was great because you get 5 different grilled things.
4. Laing- this was a favorite for all! It was yummy!
5. Fried Tilapia with 4 different sauces- this is my personal favorite! I never go to Mesa and not order it.

The resto itself was pretty hot tho! I think it's pretty normal....

The staff and the manager was fantastic and they were able to manage our last minute order. By the way we were a group of 40!!!

Thank you to Mess GB!

Tinapa Rolls - A break from your average fried spring roll, this one has tinapa inside for a unique salty taste. A good appetizer for the adventurous tastebuds!

First time to try the place and I must say, the food is good especially that tied shrimp on sticks. It was fun eating eat, tasty and crisp outside while it was managed to still have that juicy shrimp flavor. Also tried the wrapped sisig but it qas a bad idea, made it more oily.

The pochero was good, seasoned well, with very tender meat and good serving size. We also had the fried tilapia with 4 sauces, was dismayed cause the sauces were just different variations of vinegar and soysauce which btw was served in the table as a regular condiment. 128541

For dessert we had fried leche flan which turned out to be like little turons cause it was wrapped in rice paper, deep fried and left with mildly sweet lumpia wrapper with a little creamy filling.

For the drinks I'd like you all to try the kamias shake. Not sour but sweet and its a brave take on this one but they did delivered.

It's obvious that the dishes were well thought of. As in. Super yummy talaga! I've tried almost all the dishes in the menu because this is my third or fourth time already. I can't recommend any dish because all the dishes in the menu... AWESOME. Plus, value for money 128077128077128077

When craving for good filipino food, you can never go wrong with Mesa! Crispchon, Prawns with Salted Egg Sauce, and Laing? YES, PLEASE!!!! 128513128076🏼 We also like the sisig in a pouch, inihaw platter, and kare-kare!! SARAP!!!! 128521128077🏼

Only complain is that it was too hot inside their private room. Even with two electric fans, it was still hot! GRABE!! 128563 But staffs were nice naman and apologetic. We were joking na they should stay inside rin para lahat kami naiinitan and they really stayed most of the time inside talaga!!! 128517128514128541

The 'Crispchon' gives a new twist to the popular Filipino Lechon. You gotta eat here and try this here! I didn't care about the other dishes. This one's a winner. I can eat it all day!

My new fave dish here at Mesa: Chicken BBQ in Honey Patis! It is absolutely delicious! The combination of the tangy bbq marinade blends well with the honey patis. The chicken meat was just tender that one could devour that piece all to his/her joyous self. Really good to pair this with garlic or plain rice to fully appreciate its flavor! 128523

Was really hungry as Rochelle C was busy hoarding items from Howard's! 128527 We finally got to eat lunch at 2 pm!! 128556

We had pomelo salad (not tasty at all, the pomelo wasn't sweet nor juicy and the dressing was really off), 'sinigang na baboy sa piña at kamias' (tasted rather weird, more like sweet&sour soup) and tofu sisig (the only tolerable dish from what we ordered) 128533
