Filipino food simply served and done well. 128079🏼 Everything is good, no wonder they have so many branches. Ideal for family and friends. 128109128104128105128102128102

What to Order:
1. Hito Flakes on Spoon
2. Baked Scallops with Garlic Butter
3. Crispchon
4. River Shrimp on Rocks
5. Baby Squid in Olive Oil
6. Sigarillas

What I didn't like:
1. They have weird water glasses. Its slightly slanted making you feel like it'll tip over
2. Waiters are all over the place, not in a good way. ANG GULO.

I've been hearing great stuff about Mesa for quite sometime.  Passing by their Greenbelt 5 branch was a weekly habit for me.

One gloomy afternoon,  i found myself scrutinising their menu at their Power Plant Branch.  I had the daunting task to pick a restaurant for dinner.  Filipino Cuisine,  nothing else.  Tita is a part time vegetarian,  Grams is a picky eater and my Uncle just arrived from Canada.

I picked one of the set meals.  It comes with 4 viands (meat,  seafood and veggies),  rice,  iced tea and dessert.  I remember the set comes with Sinigang na Baboy,  Pinakbet,  Tilapia Cubes and Baked Scallops.

I had high hopes for Mesa.  I was expecting to be knocked off my feet.  Don't get me wrong,  the food was seasoned well,  it's just that it lacks the "wow"  factor I'm looking for (Think Baked Chicken from Wooden Spoon and Sinigang na Shortribs sa Watermelon from Namnam).

I think it's ordering ala carte is better.  I will come back to try some of their bestsellers.

Food was good but service was not. 128528

We came in a group of 10 and ordered the package worth 3-4k, it was really worth it! 128077🏼

Loved the buttered scallops and the crispy pata!

Would probably go back but i hope service gets better.

I have been in this establishment so many times already. Love that they really captures the authenticity of a Filipino food. Mesa is part of my top Filipino restaurant. Part of my staple order are: Kare kare with peanut sauce and shrimp paste and baby squid in its own ink. 128077🏼128074🏼

What I loved from these dishes was how they cooked the pork binagoongan because the shrimp paste is not over powering and you can still rate the different ingredients. I also liked the adobong baby squid in black ink. The ink does not taste pungent taste. My low critiques are the tofu salad with century egg and shrimp and the grilled pork liempo. Both are not very tasty....

We ordered the inihaw platter and sisig. It was cheap for 5 persons. The taste was okay. Service was good also.

These fried Tawilis with mango & lettuce & bagoong or alamang is a must try!!! It's heaven on a spoon ... Smart play of texture & flavor profile ... Crunchy deep fried lightly salted fish , with the sweet tarty smoothness from the ripe mango & the fresh , refreshing crisp lettuce perfected with the bagoong/alamang sauce ( not sure which one , never learn to differentiate the 2128560) balances out the entire appetizer gorgeously .... I had the plate almost all to myself 128514128561128584... Didn't wanna share , even pair it with rice ... Hahaha

Tinapa rolls, sigarilyas, fried tinapa and liempo. I wish they could just make their food a little warmer.

Good experience though. It's the type of resto you'd want to keep coming back to coz there's so many food to try that you can't possibly do in one visit.

I love the food here because it's yummy and not so expensive, BUT the A/C sucks in this branch or at least where we were seated. The air is like wind coming from an Iwata Air cooler. It's not the nice kind of cool and can easily cool your food. So sad. Would've been an sure 4 or 5 stars.

Ok plus 1 since they tried to re-seat us

Wont reco this branch for now.

Argh... I just wrote a long review but lost it for some reason.

Anyway, never thought I'd enjoy the food since I am not really a fan of Filipino food/restos. But I loved Mesa! It's Pinoy food served with style, class and the best ingredients.

We ordered the fillet tilapia, crispy pata, pinakbet, adobo, tawilis with mango, baked mussels, sisig, binagoongan na baboy and some ihaw ihaw. It were all above average! We also ordered binagoongang rice and the tinapa rice. Ok naman, medyo na overkill na kasi dami na namin order. ;)

My fave was the tinapa rolls! It's a must try! My brother insisted on trying their kamias shake. Unfortunately, it was out of stock, so I got the calamansi shake instead. It was good too. The green mango shake was good too. Everything was good. :)

I loved everything I ordered. I couldn't get enough of the crispy tilapia that I ate everything including parts of the head. It was that good! The crispy leche flan which is leche flan served turon style was superb. I will certainly be back for more soon!

Friday at last!! :) to celebrate the upcoming weekend (wow, every Friday na to! Haha!) My friend and I ate in Mesa and ordered Tinapa Rolls and Sisig.

We're very satisfied with the food and service, not too oily, serving size is big enough, and our bill is aroun 390 lang. Really, value for money for a Friday lunch.

Next time try the baby squid in olive oil! :)

I really love the their water glass! :) so cute!
Service is okay.

Food: love the food! Everything we ordered were yummy!
What we had: mangga salad, pomelo salad, grilled prawns in lemon butter, stir fried prawns in salt and pepper, baby pusit in olive oil, grilled liempo, tinapa rice and bagoong rice.
Baby pusit in olive oil so yummy! Even the liempo is good and tender.
Will def come back! :)

So glad this branch opened - I won't have to endure the endless waiting time and slow service at GB3. I always order the baby squid in olive oil. I like Mesa's version more than Abe's. I can eat 2 whole orders of this. 128523
