This is the second MESA branch we visited. Like the SM North one, the Tomas Morato branch is also strikingly beautiful creating a relaxing ambience perfect for all occasions. The staff are also attentive and friendly. The dishes are affordable and with ample servings.
On that day, we had the ff: Mangga Salad, Crispy Boneless Pata, Baby Crispy Squid and Laing Fried Rice. All of these were deliciously satisfying. The only problem we encountered during our lunch here was with the Crispy Boneless Pata. It's delicious BUT it wasn't that crispy.
Despite that, overall dining experience was great.

They have good tasting food. But i was very disappointed with the serving size of the pinakbet. It was just around 3 spoonful. I asked the waiter why it was like that. And accoding to him thats their servinf size. The pork sinigang also had 4 slices of pork only. We have been here a couple of times before. And definitely their serving size has shrinked. Not good value for money :(

Filipino food has come a long way.. Mesa moderne added a twist to the Filipino fave sisig.. And I loved it because it's delectable and juicy and the wrap is crispy... Rice please..
Try the Kamias shake that I got.. It's a thirst quencher... And healthy... Love it here...

Impromptu lunch date with Rain D.
We were originally planning to have lunch at San Seh Noodle House but they open 3PM onwards and I have to be back to work before 3PM. From hand-pulled noodles, we ended up having Filipino instead.
We were easily accommodated to one of two available tables and glad it was near the Iwata air cooler. That's when I noticed that the AC wasn't working properly and the summer heat not helping. All good for now.
On to our orders:
Patotim - Sweet and savory 1/2 duck stewed in soy sauce and anise. I was initially expecting the meat to be tough but was pleasantly surprised as to how tender and flavorful the duck was. The sauce was perfect with plain rice.
Laing 2 Ways - Taro leaves, pork, shrimp paste and coconut cream topped with adobo flakes, served original and crispy. I liked the original version better than the crispy one, although the crispy one was also good. It's just that the original one was saucier.
Plain Rice
Green Mango Shake
How good was our meal? I have been been avoiding rice for quite some time now and would only eat a few spoonfuls with Filipino dishes. This time around, I managed to have 1.25 cups of rice. Really a challenge not to have rice with saucy Filipino dishes!!!

I particularly noticed servers all around the restaurant which made the ambience quite chaotic. Also, Our server kept on checking our table as if in a hurry to clean up our place.

Kare Kare, Shrimp in butter, and Baked tahong in photo. But it's not the food that's making this review worthy of 5 stars. The level of attention we received from the servers and wait staff was just divine. Good job Tomas Morato team!

One word. Laing. Aside from Laing, we ordered, hito with mangga and bagoong-tamarind for sauce, it's soooo yummy. Try also the garlic scallops. And for dessert, get the crispy leche flan. It's like, mini turon but, instead of banana, it's leche flan inside! Happy tummy.

Filipino food for a change in pace...
My brother and I were driving around Tomas Morato looking for a place to have a semi-healthy dinner for takeout... We could not find parking at F7, so we abandoned the idea of eating at Kanin Club or Señor Pollo... I just pointed at Mesa after we just couldn't think of anything...
It was actually my first time to dine at any Mesa branch... You will immediately notice the beautiful light fixtures that are the focal point of the restaurant... A definite nod to our heritage with the native materials used... The restaurant was spacious and felt comfortable, not too noisy inside either... But we just sat by the chairs by the entryway and contemplated our dining options...
I wanted to choose dishes that weren't too oily and that would hold up during the ride to the hospital... We decided on the following:
Adobo flakes-- put me in this situation and I will always order this dish, just because I
️
adobo flakes... As in!
Tofu salad-- served with century eggs and prawns over a light sauce... I hate century eggs, but the tofu and sauce worked great together!
Braised beef-- meh, though tender... All of us didn't really like the flavor...
garlic chicken-- my fave dish if the night... Breaded but moist inside with a nice pop of garlicky flavor! Delish, makes you forget about the calories!
sisig rice-- too heavy for me... Served with a fried egg on top...
Overall it was a good dinner that wasn't too bad on the wallet!

Mesa : (Photo from Google)
I was invited by my cousin to join them to celebrate her Brother and Niece's birthday. The place is enormous and does have so many people. The Party was inside a function hall with awesome interiors. You can say the eating place is great since a lot of people are indulging themselves to experience modern filipino dishes. We had Prawns, Crispy Pata, Estofado, Roasted Chicken, Kare-Kare, Fried Tilapia. Food is really scrumptious. It was my first experience in the resto and i would highly recommend it to everyone. My cousin also said that for family gathering she prefers Mesa.

Every dish we tried was super good, but my favorite is the Laing (served 2 ways). It's really the best Laing I've ever tasted. The other dishes I would recommend are Sinigang na Baboy with Guava and Pinya and the Fried Tilapia. I'm looking forward to bringing other friends to this place. :)

Hi looloo!!! It's been 3 months since my last review, I can't believe it. So many things are keeping me busy!
So my family & I went to Mesa for dinner. We chose this restaurant because we wanted to try a new place! Although I've already tried Mesa with a couple of my friends, I was still excited! We ordered Tinapa Rolls, Baked Scallops, Sisig Rice, Tinapa Rice, Ostrich Salpicao and Inihaw Platter. It sounds like a lot of food, and there was a lot! We really had dinner the Filipino way, busog na busog kami in the end! Everything tasted good, but my favorites would have to be the Tinapa Rolls and the Inihaw Platter! The Sisig Rice could use a bit more sisig, and there was nothing spectacular about the Ostrich Salpicao (but it tasted good). Overall, it was a great dinner enjoyed with the company of my family!

Food was great. But what struck me the most was their humble-looking talong salad. But it's taste wasn't anywhere near humble. The vinaigrette was one whose taste explodes in your mouth.
