I always used to see this looming behemoth on LRT1 rides.

Like a crazy aged woman whom you could tell was a sight to behold back in her hayday.

She is tall, exquisite, refined, yet utterly taken for granted.

Lawton is a place for students. Young blood. The future has no place for old things.

Yet, lately, these kids are starting to notice her. Take an interest in reviving her to her old glory.

People are staging ballet performances in The Met.
Art events. Mini concerts. You name it.

I even saw performance art (TBT Malate 90's scene) in the halls.

Sure, it is spooky inside. I'm not clairvoyant. I don't have a 3rd eye, but the 3rd floor feels heavy. It feels as if there is something there. Not malicious or sinister. Just..there.

Don't go up alone or in a small group.

Not to scare you, just my personal experience.

Everywhere else, art and history explodes from every nook.

Be careful where you step too. Some places, the floor is giving way. Others, the ceiling.

Try to go when there's a cultural or art show. There is always a nominal fee/donation. It's for the restoration of The Met so don't give a 20 naman.

You can spend an hour or 2 inside. Even longer if you're brave.

Better yet, volunteer to fix it up.

They have a page for it on FB.

It won't be as cool as BGC or as hip as elyu but..
it is worth it.
