It's a go to Mexican when you crave this cuisine. Although a number of good ones coming out, they still get my respect for making Mexican popular.

It was a Mexican breakfast. I got fresh Grilled Chicken Salad which had an ample veggie variety mixed with chips. It made it more interesting texture and flavor wise.

The Chili Con Carne lacked a kick but it sure makes ordinary chips better. I love the cheese and sour cream on top.

Last is their huge Chicken Quesadillas. I love this one most. It's too good I wished they put more chicken. The cheese was perfectly melted in the mix too.

Their Chimichanga is one of my comfort foods. And I could honestly say, it feels like a big hug after a tiring day, it's so good.

We had Beef Burrito, Beef Taco and Garlic Quesadilla. It was just ok.

I used to love eating in this place. Though I cannot remember the last time we dined here. I think it was more than five years ago :)

I found the chips quite hard. Maybe its too thick but the salsa and other sauces & dips are still good.

Just noticed that the burrito has more rice now than before.

Delicious and affordable mexican food. I specifically like the Onion, Garlic and Cheese Quesedilla and their Pollo Asado Tacos. Light and flavorful! The chicken was good and moist!

Quick service and accommodating crew.. 128516

Place:
It's located in an isolated place where all the other isolated restaurants are. I like the color if the furnitures, but the lighting makes it gloomy for a happy colored place. Clean.

Customer service:
We were the only customers that time but the server was not attentive. It took us around 2-3 minutes to get her attention. We were seated right across where she was standing which was maybe 4 feet away. It was good that my friend checked the items on the receipt or else we would have been charged for a different order. Second receipt this time lacks items. It took her 3 trips before she got it right. She was nice though.

Food:
Beef taco and garlic quesadilla combo - I loved the 3 different kinds of dips that went with the quesadilla. Quesadilla was actually garlic and cheese flavored. Tacos, as usual, were messy to eat. Ground beef was not lean so it was greasy. Nothing special about the taco and quesadilla. It was the dips I was fascinated with - jalapeño, garlic mayo and salsa. Combo included a tall glass of iced tea.

Im starting to love burrito and tacos more and more!!! 128149128149128149

So, when I knew that we will be eating here, I got too excited. Hihihi

The burrito was really good. It satisfied my tummy immediately without eating the quesadilla and tacos. They have 3 different dips! I commend them for that since others would just give you one option and the option isnt that good. 128528128514

This meal is super sulit, I'm telling you! 128077128077128077

Cheese and Garlic Quesdilla = the best. Crisp on the outside and soft on the inside.

I've tried the beef burrito once (it was a huge burrito at that!) but I didn't find it flavorful enough. Their nachos are good too but could use more cheese and lettuce. Their tacos are huge and sort of difficult to eat (it could get quite messy) but tastewise it's okay.

The design of the restaurant is open to the outside but the space is tied in by the colorful furniture. The food is somewhat pricey, but the service is good.

I have always tried to stay away from anything mexican. The closest cuisine i have to our countries' sister city is the taco's that i always get during our high school and college days in Greenhills Shoppesville, where they mix it while you wait. Maybe it's because i'm not too fond of the smell of their salsa or spiciness of their sauces are overwhelming against the main course but nevertheless i'm not too fond of it, period.
Then came the idea of trying out Mexicali just for the heck of and quite frankly, me and my daughter are running out of option on where to eat in Galleria.
The trial was very pleasant, it took out all my negative notions and apprehension about the food and their sauces but of course the salsa's smell is still what i have remembered. But never mind that, on the food;
We tried their hefty serving if nachos with ground beef even-though the menu says it's solo it's generous enough to be shared.
I specially loved their soft taco, pollo or the chicken fillings. The cilantro leaves are a welcome ingredient in the otherwise exciting meal.
Quesadillas are fine that doesn't need any wanting.
Overall, Mexicali is indeed a nice way to bridge the gap between us and mexico.
Ariba Mexi-cali! :)

Classic Mexican food. Hot stuff and color. Enchiladas were so meaty and tasty. How can I resist? 1285239786

Always liked mexi-themed resto and Mexicali just hit the spot. I had the steak soft taco: yum! I also had a cheese and jalapeño quesadillas: yum! They never ha chimichanggas in their menu and that sucks. This branch situated in one corner of the mall looked sad and had an old looking tarp for their signage/header/whatever. At least the staff overcompensated 9786 they were very helpful and attentive.
