Quick dinner with Rochelle C one day brought us to Mey Lin. We had beancurd with 3 kinds of mushroom, crispy intestines, hot&sour soup, raddish cake and mango sago. Food was ok overall but I noticed that it's not as affordable as it used to be 128532 and the servings got smaller plus dishes weren't as delicious as before. Oh sadness! 128542

Used to love this place. Now their portions have grown so small they're overpriced already. Taste is still good but there are lots of places out there more worth your money.

Comfort food! I like their hand pulled noodles. The broth is very light but flavorful.

This branch always had more servings than the others, making it one of my favorites! This time around, the owner and staff really made our day by giving their customers Christmas presents! What a sweet gesture! 127876

Our orders:

127835Adobo Rice Php85
my staple food! i make sure to bring some whenever we go on trips 128523 we also used to order this at work. this is already a meal in itself. i remember when this was just around P50-60 or was it even P45?! nweiz, doesnt matter because it still tastes as yummy as ever! it has just the right amount of sweetness, perfect Chinese adobo cooking!

127836Pancit Canton Php240
nothing great but still good

127835Yang Chow Rice Php230
we ordered this solely for my nephew! he just loves fried carbs! i liked how un-oily it was

127814Dried String Beans Php210
my favorite dish to pair with the adobo rice; the garlic just makes it even tastier

128031 Steamed Pampano in Tausi Php480
im no fish lover but i love tausi! good thing pampano doesnt have much bones, one of the reasons why i dont like eating fish outside, mejo hassle eh 128513 i enjoyed it but i prefer lapulapu over pampano

Whaddaya know... Hours after my "saddest xiao long bao" post, I tried ordering the same thing at a differet restaurant and...

Although these XLBs are not as sad looking aa those of Mongkok's, these are worthy contenders. Although they looked plump and juicy, they have no soup, the skin is too thick and the filling ate too crumbly (no "body" at all). Good thing they serve decent Pork Chop Rice, otherwise I'd run amuck and beat their cooks senseless.

Another alternative chinese resto in Makati area, nothing fancy about this resto, very simple and comforting food.

Meylin has been around for a long time already, some of their dishes are hard to find on other chinese restaurant, like my mom love their sweet potato (kamote) congee and my bosses like their adobo intestine or laman loob.

For the appetizer, I like their adobo platter which includes adobo egg, tofu and pig ears. For other notable dishes are halaan soup, lomi, oyster cake and for the best is patatim with cuapao (steam buns), its a messy dish but one of the really best in town.

If you want to sample food from china's Fukien province, look no further and head to Mey Lin. The food they serve are what you would usually find in a Chinese household in the Philippines. Most Chinese migrants in the Phil are from Fukien.

A lot of things are good here. But what is really special here are: oyster cake (I don't eat) and tostado bihon.

The bihon is wok fried to a point that one side is crispy and slightly burnt and the other side is what you would find in a regular pancit gisado with all of its rekado. This is good stuff!!

If you're fond of eating congee better try their "kamote" or sweet potato congee. It's the best we've tried so far, but they only serve them at night So if you want to try it go here at night. Some of the dishes that match perfectly with their congee are the soy minced pork with salted egg(the one in the picture), century egg beancurd with masang, adobo pork meichay and raddish omelette. If you don't like eating congee, their dishes are also good with rice so you won't have any problem. If you're eating by yourself you can try their porkchop rice or beef noodle soup.

Service was quite bad tonight but it's normally okay. Price is very reasonable though.
