Upgraded from Double Bedroom to Suite for FREE. P4,400 overnight stay. Superb hotel service and staffs. Still pricey for an overnight stay but hey this is MANILA after all! Everything's overpriced, right! Just traveled Phuket and booked at a P1,300/night hotel room with rooftop pool, 2 blocks from the beach, and 5min walk from Jungceylon mall. 128526

For our Christmas Party, I decided to check in at Microtel so that I do not need to worry about going home late or traversing the awful Manila traffic. I arrived before noon and checked in, the room was not ready yet but that is okay since standard check in time is actually 2PM. By around 1PM, I was able to get to my room and it was good. Clean and just what I booked. Most of the rooms in Microtel are twin beds and I do not really mind because the bed is quite big. There are also available water dispensers at every floor and ice maker at certain floors.

Toilet and Shower are spacious and clean. Towels and toiletries are provided. Overall, I had a really good experience staying overnight. The price I got from Agoda is competitive and it even has a complimentary buffet breakfast. I would definitely stay here again because of its prime location.

Since I was already stuck in the Macapagal Area since morning, I decided to just check-in at the cheapest hotel available nearby. Microtel ain't cheap but their neighbors are much more expensive so here we are. 128514 Mas mura pa din yun kumpara sa oras pagod hirap at salapi na gugugulin ko sa hindi gumagalaw na traffic. 128548

No surprise that the hotel was nearly fully booked so I grabbed a room even though it's a smoking room on the smoking floor. (i don't smoke 128522)

The room was quite nice but had this faint smell of smoke. I can bear with it though. I just took the air freshener from the car to the room and all was good. 128077

Our room had the greatest view! We can clearly see City of Dreams, Solaire and that beautiful Manila Bay Sunset! And in the morning we also had a great view of the sunrise! 128522 If we checked in to Solaire or CoD then our view would be dreadful buildings. Sometimes it's better to go for the underdogs. 128513

Breakfast was so-so. Nothing worth mentioning. It's not bad but not that great either. I could've just omitted the additional 500 from the bill and got ourselves some McDo Bfast. 128513

For a budget hotel, Microtel is really something. I love the food that they served in their breakfast buffet. Our room was really cozy. Having a nice staff is also one criteria of a food hotel.

Stayed here for one night because we had an event nearby.

The lobby was nice and the rooms were okay but the longer we stayed the more negative things we discover.

Service:

Check in and check out were too long. We waited for about 30min. In room requests also took too long to be accomplished, we had to remind them at least three times every request.

Room:

The bedding was thin and cheap looking. The toiletries provided were inadequate, there was no shampoo, lotion, conditioner or shower cap. There was no carpet and no slippers. The air conditioner does not spread air evenly throughout the room. The comfort room was small and again cheap looking. And it feels dirty. We paid around P7,500 for this room so of course we expected a lot more than the average. Oh! And the most shocking thing - THERE WAS NO DOORBELL. Seriously?!?! Ffff. SERIOUSLY?!?!?!!!! Just sad.

This has to be the worst hotel I've been in, in terms of value for money. The only notable good thing here is their elevator but the question is will I go back? Maybe in 10 years or if I had no choice.

The view of Manila Bay is great from the room's window. Too bad though that there was no beautiful sunset nor fireworks on the day we stayed at the hotel, but it did not dampen our good experience. The sunset view room has all the basic amenities to make your stay comfortable -- 2 queen beds, hot/cold shower, basic toilet supplies, LED TV, in-room safe, fridge, closet. The room is spacious enough for two. I particularly loved the couch by the window, where I read a book and watched the world sleep at midnight. It's very close to SM Mall of Asia were there are lots of shops and restaurants. We definitely had a good stay!

(PS. I hope people learn to manage their expectations. I'm a traveler and I've stayed in different hotels of all stars and sizes, and I was particularly happy in each one of them. Microtel is a budget "micro" hotel so expect that the facilities and amenities are not at par with 5-star hotels.)

THE VIEW. 127879127905127904127878

Stayed here for a while a week ago, my cousin checked in here so I hangout with her muna before I go back to Sofitel. This place is so-so.

128077 Area is joggable.
128077 MOA and more fun places are just walking distance.

128078 No carpet, no slippers! 128548
128078 No complimentary drinks. (Lol)
128078 You have to pay the wifi... And it's too slow.

Place is perfect if you have an important, early errand or any conference at SMX, MOA Arena, PICC or whatever. You can stay here for a night so you won't be late.

If you intend to visit Manila to go shopping at MOA, then this is the place to be. It's about a 5-10 minute walk to MOA, depending on how fast you walk. There is also a shuttle service that leaves every hour at the top of the hour starting at 11 am. The buffet breakfast wasn't very spectacular. There are water dispensers and ice makers near the elevator on each floor. If you're looking for a no-frills place to stay, then this would be a good choice but it isn't the Shangrila.

View from our room.

I was not really expecting too much since its a micro-hotel. We stayed in Suites and Deluxe Sunsent view. You can ask the front desk agent to reserve for extension rooms if you're sleeping with your family. The rooms were just okay except that for deluxe room walang free slippers 128557 at hindi fully carpet lahat ng rooms kaya malamig sa paa. I was waiting for the sunset kaso umaambon at that time kaya sayang na sayang ang point of getting a SUNSET VIEW room. Huhuhu may water dispenser pala near the elevator kaya you can refill your water bottles anytime.

They offer complimentary buffet breakfast. Complete with fruits, vegetables, soup, drinks and meats. The food was good! May tuna at bacon! Most of the guests here were foreigners kaya siguro ang timpla ng food ay may pagka-western.

Pwede na. Nothing wow from design to furniture.

We just needed an after BadGalRiri Diamonds World Tour Concert resting place. And this is just ok. I am wondering if the Microtel hotels all look like this. Last time I saw something like this was... A back packer hotel in Bulgaria and Eurotel.

Anyways, the walls are thin. I was here at 3pm to hear people next door talking about something (so either normal conversation voice could be heard or they were shouting).

Thankfully non of it we heard by 1 am.
No conversations or any nightly activities... What to say to young kids if ever they heard such? Please listen to music kids and use earphones!??!!

Weird observations:
Sadya ba yung buttons for up and down ay baluktot sa service elevators? Kinda annoying to look at.
And no free slippers. :( Sorry na. I like those fluffy things.
Chicken noodle soup served with fettuccine...

Okie time for me to rest and sleep!

Shine bright~! Like Diamonds in the sky!

Location is a walking-distance to MOA especially to Buffet 101 and Vikings.. The room is big and there are 2 wide beds.. The room we stayed was overlooking the seaside of Manila. So relaxing! There is also a free shuttle from the hotel going to SM MOA.. :)

Each room has two queen sized beds. Five people can squeeze in te room. there are three ready pillow but are soft. Bathrroom presentation is nice and i like the shower which is above your head which is just like showering in the rain. There is an iron and cabinet with personal ref. i was lucky i got a good view of the Seaside of SM MOA.

Inlcusive in the package is free breakfast which is tasteful and good. Price wise its near 5 star range and the service is good.

The view from the rooftop is great: the whiteness of the place, the pool, the bay and and that giant ferris wheel on view! The place is also clean, crew are friendly... If you won't mind the price, that is. This is a good place to stay for a break from touring before you leave the country, or after your last minute shopping spree. Its very near the NAIA airport and Mall of Asia.

You would love it because it's in front of MOA, it has pretty decent facilities, AND the complex is "joggable"!
