My brother and best friend pitched this place for great value Chinese food. I totally forgot I’ve eaten in their other branch when I arrived here. Price are on the high side but well justified with quality and portioning. The amount of oil used though is well noticeable and could’ve been better with less.

The best one we had was their noodles! The Spicy Beef Wanton was a seamless bowl- the beef was tender, wanton packed with meat, noodles smooth yet firm and soup had a strong beef element to it.

Their Chopseuy Tofu Pot is uniquely presented and really was true to its name. Besides a range of vegetables and tofu, it had pork, mussels and fish. It’s a complete meal with very satisfying taste to it.

I was hesitant at first to have their Yang Chow Fried Rice and was opting for Vegetable version instead. I am glad my sister forced me to pick the former as it was good to eat on its own. For Php 270, it’s around 4 cups of rice.

Chicken with Pepper was tasty but had so much chicken skin fat to it. I did appreciate the fresh green bell peppers for an added texture of crunch to the dish.

My least favorite was the Oyster Cake. It was too sticky and seemingly lacked oysters. The overall taste was also flat without its sweet and spicy sauce.

Mien San used to be one of our go-to dinner places after badminton with dad or whenever dad doesn't want to cook on a weekend. It was convenient because it was near where we used to live.

So coming back here is a bit nostalgic. 128514

We ordered our usuals:
• Seafood Chami
• Spicy Beef Stew Noodle Soup
• Fried Pork Dumplings

The seafood chami is really oily 128549

The beef stew noodle soup is still our fave! 10084️ Flavor and spiciness!

The pork dumplings are cooked like gyoza where only one side is charred. 128077🏼

I can't believe the last time I ate here was more than five years ago. A lot has changed that's for sure. The restaurant was renovated to maximize its space and improve the overall quality of the place. Considering the renovation costs and inflation good for five years, it's no doubt that prices went up by a significant amount. To verify if the food quality improved as well, we ordered our usuals.

SPICY BEEF STEW NOODLE | [P258] 11088110881108811088
Noodles were al dente. It was neither chewy nor stiff. Broth tasted like authentic beef soup - mix of Chinese spices plus a kick of heat from the chili. Beef stew would not be complete without a generous serving of beef of which they nailed as well. The only negative thing I have to say is that it was not served hot. Noodles are best enjoyed hot in my opinion.

SEAFOOD CHAMI [P268] 110881108811088
Mien San's seafood chami used to be a favorite and go to dish of mine but I'd have to disagree now. It's still good but way TOO GREASY. I'd like to think that the chef made a mistake by accidentally pouring a cup of oil while cooking to ease my disappointment 128532

FRIED CABBAGE WITH PORK DUMPLING [P148 • 8 PCS] 11088110881108811088
Don't misinterpret the term "fried" here as deep fried. Their dumplings are pan fried similar to how a gyoza is cooked. It's quite good. A perfect example of moderation - steamed but slightly charred on one side. Dip it in their not so salty soy sauce for additional flavor 128069

Verdict:
I'm not sure if my pallet improved or the food quality dropped but it's definitely not the same. Generally, the dishes served were not hot which is a pet peeve of mine when it comes to Chinese food. But hey, place looks way much better than the last time I visited so thumbs up for that 128077🏻

first thing you would feel is that the acoustics in this establishment is BAD! you can hear almost everything. people talking, sound of plates, fork and spoon, staffs voices, glasses, etc. gave me headaches.

the last time I went here was the old mien san. it's been almost a decade that I have not been here. this is the renovated one.

food prices is so-so. have been hearing lots of good feedback and I suppose they are true. ground floor is full. second floor is about half full.

ordered beef tendon with goto noodle soup. P328 good! Chinese ramen I should say. but price is quite steep for its serving.

daughter ordered century egg with pork congee. P158. congee is watery and loaded with pepper. I didn't like it. will skip this one next time.

steamed dumpling kuchay with pork. P128. it is good. good portioning and size. I doubt The kuchay.

oyster cake is gingery and few oysters. flavor is so-so for me. nothing special. would not order it again. P188.

pork tokwa kuchay. P298. flavor is good. again, I doubt if the green veggies are really kuchay.

Affordable Taiwanese comfort food 128523 wide array of noodles dishes to choose from, fried noodle; dry noodle; noodle with soup... They also serve rice toppings, congee, cold cuts, dimsum and lots of main dishes.

I love their Shanghai Jian Pao 128070🏼6 pcs @168 - think fried Siopao wtth a little XLB soupy goodness 128523 other popular choices : Porkchop, XLB, Onion Pancake and cold cuts.. Heck, almost everything is good here 128514 Even the free Okra appetizer was really tasty!

Service is usually fast... Just kinda slow yesterday since it was full house. Parking will always be a problem here 128542 but they're opening a new branch in Connecticut very soon, so hopefully more parking spaces there!

After the dinner at The Dimsum Place last night, the craving for chinese noodles continue. This time we drop by Mien San in New Manila. This noodle house is a place that we seldom visit due to the difficulty in parking but food craving supersede that hahaha. So the strategy was we drop by early for more parking space. When we arrive the 1st floor was already jampacked so we were given a table on the second floor. The place was simple and not that 5 star clean kind of place. Their menu was also a little bit worn out. But we came for the food so we didn't mind does.

We ordered a variety of chinese dishes:
🔹Free Fried Wanton Wrapper-the appetizer was so addicting that you'll keep asking for a refill until your order comes.
🔹Beef Tendon Noodles - the star of the menu. if you are a fan of litid litid this is perfect for you. The soup was sooo good!
🔹Dumplings-chinese style steamed dumplings. Tasted good. The meat and veggies inside were thumbs up!
🔹Oyster Cake-a little disappointing puro arina. Oyster was nowhere to be found 128533
🔹Sweet and sour pork-typical sweet and sour pork but their version tasted good and quite addicting

Overall for a chinese food this was very good. 128518128076

Never fail to order the spicy wonton. They're not stingy with the noodles, their Mami is difficult to finish.

Mushroom Fish Rice and Beef Noodles for the win!! Mr Cua, my love, like this noodle house even if it's always jampacked. Take note, he is not that patient in waiting for long lines or slow service. 128522128522128522I guess they really got yummy food! Thumbs up.

Beem coming here for several years now. I love their dumplings, they have several kinds: kuchay, pork, shrimp, and just pure veggies. I always order their kuchay and shrimp-pork dumplings --both steamed and their Dumpling Mushroom Noodle Soup. Comfort food. 128076🏻

The best Chinese restaurant for me! Their beef tendon noodle is too good to be true. Its great flavor will increase your appetite and make you want to order their spicy wanton to go along with the noodle soup. Best served with a cold glass of calamansi or dalandan soda. Definitely worth going to when you want to have your cheat meal 128522
