Mighty Quinn’s Slow Smoked Barbecue just launched Chef Hugh’s new creations for the whole month of July and what a great way to launch it but on the 4th of July. They have bad-ass sauces that are perfect for anything meat. They’re also available per bottle if you want to take home some. This is actually their first business then they ventured to restaurant since they make such good at it. Cher Mangun himself went straight to Rockwell to provide an overview of his newly created dishes specially curated for us, Filipinos. As per the Chef, he used some local ingredients and came up with these dishes to showcase for the month of July.

Beast Burger – A Meat Lover’s Burger that has two kinds of premium slow smoked barbecue with four times more meat than the regular burgers. Topped with their signature slaw and sandwiched between two toasted brioche buns. Served with a side of crispy sweet potato chips. This really is so savory and flavorful. One of the burgers that I’d definitely come back to.

Spare Ribs Unagi – Signature slow smoked St. Louis cut spareribs, with more umami flavors. It has sweet and savory caramelized Unagi sauce glazed. Served with complimentary pickles, slaw and choice of garlic or dirty rice. I find the meat a tender yet not-fall-of-the-bone. It still tasted delicious still.

Manila Creamsicle Milkshake – Classic American Creamsicle Milkshake with refreshing Calamansi twist. Topped with whipped cream and a crunch of Biscoff Cookie. As per Chef, he got attached with the flavor of Calamansi and wanted to do something about it. So, he came up with the idea of making a Milkshake out of it, and it was sooooo good!

And what a great way to pair your Ribs with beer. There’s Joe’s Brews available here as well.

Fish Rider Pale Ale | ABV 5% | IBU 35

Medium Body, Strong Citrus aromas backed by a strong Caramel Malt flavour.

Sierra Madre Wheat Ale | ABV 5% | IBU 18

Light body, soft floral and fruity aroma with a slightly yet sharp bitterness in flavour.

I was invited by Mighty Quinn's to have the dibs to try their "Fourth of July Special" which is very timely since it is the Fourth of July which is the Freedom day of the Americans.

The guest that night was none other than Hugh Mangum, one of the founders of Might Quinn's, who flew from the U.S. just to be with us during the launch of the special. :D

BRISKET (P495 single serving/ P1,295 by the pound)
As far as I know, the beef was slow-cooked for 24 hours. That's why you would see the darkness of the skin part, but worry not, it doesn't have that bitter charred taste that taste like the bitterness of your feelings towards your ex. ;) haha! It is so juicy and the meat is so tender. Even the fat, it is oh soo good. I can imagine the juice of the fat bursting inside my mouth. Very flavorful and sinful at the same time. HIhihi. :3

MIGHTY QUINN'S JULY SPECIAL:

1. Beast Burger
- smoked slowly to perfection over flowing pulled pork burger in between the brioche buns. I tapped out with the amount of burger in it! Haha!!! So full. Food coma ensued. Hehe

2. Spare Ribs Unagi
- From the name itself, my mind is kinda torn because "unagi" is a kind of eel. Haha! Unagi sauce was used pala. Haha! The carmelized unagi sauce glistens like how Edward Cullen glistens in Twilight. Sweet and savoury taste. :D

3. Manila Creamsicle Milkshake
- Hmmm... I'd say that the "Calamansi" taste twist part is where I'm kind iffy. Maybe I don't like sour taste in general that's why I didn't like this milkshake. :)

Thank you Joe's Brew for the

Happy Fourth of July for the American Readers of this review. Hope this helps you! :D

One fine day, we found ourselves at the new wing of Powerplant Mall, with a lot of foodie places to discover, while everyone was panicking over the first day screening of Avengers, we felt torn between Mighty Quinn’s and Draft since their interiors almost spell the same trendy industrial elements ( you know it when you see Terra cotta brick walls, concrete walls, edison-bulbed pendant lamps, industrial chairs, wooden tables and the like ) , though Mighty Quinn’s had no glass walls and was more open to the mall corridor, which I feel was more welcoming/ inviting....so now we have a winner! Hehehe :)128515128515128515127881128077🏻

The menu showcased lots of Slow-Cooked meat choices and it was never regretful to have tried their Php1480 Meat Sampler Specials! You get to combine 2 kinds of meat to pair...we chose the Beef Brisket + Pork Belly Combo ( Hey, there’s also options for Chicken and Pulled Pork! ) and this fantastic duo comes with 2 sidings, Dirty Rice, & Coleslaw Salad! It’s really a perfect choice for dining with the gang! 100841008410084️ Wow, the meat was flavorful, soft and tender, it was almost effortless to slice up! yumyumyum 12852210084128077🏻

Alongside with that, you could order sides while waiting for the production to make your experience more hefty! Hehehe ...so we tried the Dirty Fries, that had onion garnishings and barbequed pulled pork! Wow not bad....Another Yum Yum!

We also tried their Chicken Wings (for me it’s so-so ) and Corn Fritters! It was so addicting we had to have a second round ( of the corn fritters hehehe it has this sweet chili sauce that makes it special )100841008410084

They also feature their signature BBQ sauces up on the table and I haft say... they had me at Honey BBQ Sauce! I love the sweet tinge in it rather than the Original version for those who want that strong, hickory taste! 128522128522128522

Overall, it was quite a great and juicy experience at Mighty Quinn’s!128077🏻128077🏻128077🏻128077🏻127881 So come on down, looloozens! 12852210084128077🏻

I love their pulled pork. It’s just that the serving size is so huge. (Pero nauubos ko naman lol)

I wish they’d have a smaller serving size for their meats.

Their single platter normally comes with rice but I really love their potato salad, I just order that instead.

It’s so weird because their meat serving sizes are so huge but their side dishes are so small?? They have this x-small serving size of the sides and wow parang di naman nagmmatch dun sa laki ng serving size ng meat haha. But I guess if you’re ordering a lot of sides then the x-small makes sense.

So I end up getting the “small” one which can get pretty pricey also.

If you’re looking for a super meaty meal, I recommend hitting up Mighty Quinn’s!

P.S. They also have rice bowls if you want okay-sized meal. It’s just that they don’t have a pulled pork version of that. 128517

Mighty Quinn’s beef brisket is tender, flavorful and succulent. Combine it with the original bbq sauce, there’s an explosion of flavors in every bite. I found their dirty rice to be really nice, it balances out the flavors from the brisket and sauce. The mac and cheese though, is a bit of a let down. It’s dry and almost bland. Regardless, I still enjoyed my visit to Mighty Quinn’s. 9786
