It's Lucha Libre part 2!
(Refer to previous post for part 1)

Hmm... it's night and I have a 4am call time tomorrow... Tiis muna and go for... hmm... Orange cold brew! Sabi ni sis, kuya mapait yan kahit tunawin mo yun ice sa drink... Me: huh? okay lang orange [juice] naman kaya bitter.

Then after a few shakes ni Ms. Barista, she placed a glass with 2 ice balls and a slice of orange then 2 jars with clear sweet liquid and the other a dark coffee like liguid inside... Coffee?!128561 Basa basa din ng 'mabuti' kasi pag may time, haha!

The coffee: di ko sure kung bitter pa ko, hindi naman mapait tulad ng sabi sa akin earlier... there is also that mild hint of orange taste, even if you don't squish the orange slice. At dahil nasa separate jar yun syrup and coffee, pede timplahin according sa panlasa, iba na problema pag di kayo magkasundo ng panlasa mo. 128541

Price? 180php for the brew, bit pricey for a regular sized coffee, imo, swabe pala sa panlasa ang cold brew, also less after taste compared to other brewed coffee.

Hooboy... good luck sa akin bukas. Buti libre! And I was able to recover from food coma instantly! Also developed a liking to cold coffee less the cream, which is good for those counting their calories intake!

Being on strict diet for 12 days, I decided that last Sunday was my cheat day. Me wanting some sweets badly, I asked my friend to have desserts after eating at Burger Geek. After walking around Molito Complex and ATC, we spotted Milkbox and will give it a try.

This ittle, cute store was located at the lower ground floor inside the mall. The place was bright and small. There's a long couch inside with around 3-4 tables inside and 2-3 tables outside. It's already past eight when we arrived, so there's only a few customers and was able to get a table right away.

It's kind hard to order without pictures on the menu. Haha We ended relying on the their bestsellers. I wanted to try their shakes but I was still full from the burger we ate earlier so I opted on ordering wonuts (waffle + donuts). There's always a room for desserts on my stomach but the shake was a bit too much. Haha

🔹Matcha Dark Chocolate Wonuts

2 crispy wonuts with whipped cream in between. The wonuts was ok for me. It just lacks flavors. I'm expecting a rich flavor of matcha and salty bittersweet taste of the Dark Chocolate. I think the chocolate chips on topped was the dark choclate and a few inside was bitin. The matcha was incorporated on the whip but still kulang. 128556

🔹Mango Salted Caramel Wonuts

My friend quite liked it. The mango slices were sweet. Like my Matcha Dark Chocolate, it could have been perfect if they were generous enough to put more salted caramel on it. 128556

Plating wise, A for EFFORT! The reason why it took time to be served.

Service was good. They only accept cash.

On one of our family “Sundates” I suggested that we go to ATC to eat at CPK so that I can use my gift certificates (Yay! Thank you so much, looloo!). After our scrumptious lunch, I and my sweet-toothed sisters craved for something sweet. There is a number of dessert options in Town and we chose between Rita’s, Papermoon, Conti’s and Milkbox. (Ang laki ng problema teh128514) Lol128514 we needed to decide carefully since we can’t go there often (probinsyana problems128517)So in order to decide, I browsed these dessert shops in looloo and I saw a post with a picture Milkbox’s sizzling Matcha. Matcha daw beh. SIZZLING..MATCHA. I did not browse for other shops anymore, Milkbox it is! I convinced my sisters (who are not matcha fans) to have our dessert there.

This dessert place replaced the cute Mochiko Café in ATC and it has been there for almost a year now but I was kinda hesitant to try it before due to some cons that I have read in reviews and it's quite pricey. When I saw sizzling Matcha, I knew I had to try it. When we went there, there were no available seats inside so we stayed outside which was just fine. There ambiance was nice but can accommodate limited number of customers. I browsed through their menu which had specialty coffee, skillet desserts, cwazy shakes, ice cream, wonuts, waffle sundaes and sandwiches. I still read their menu even if I already had Sizzling Matcha (Php 243) in mind so that I know what to order next time! Hehe! The stuff in their menu were kinda expensive so we only ordered one and agreed to try the others next time. I told my sisters that if they didn’t like the matcha, they can order others (pero yung cheaper, haha!).

So there, after waiting for 15 minutes, our order was served. It consisted of matcha blondie (the brown bread) with green tea ice cream on top and was served in a hot skillet. It was topped with cereal crumbs and there was a separate bottle with matcha white-chocolate ganache to pour over the sizzling goodness. Haay, it was heavenly!!! The matcha ganache which seemed like matcha condensed milk was sweet and oh so goooood! In every scoop, napapa “haaay sarap naman nito” ako. 128525128557. Perfect combination of hot and cold128077🏻12829310052️. I think it will be too sweet for others but for a sweet-tooth and matcha-obsessed like me, it was the perfect matcha dessert. My sisters (who are not matcha fans) loved this dessert too! It was their first time to like something with matcha in it. It was a good thing also since they did not ask me to order other dessert anymore. hehe 128526128077🏻 I would definitely recommend it for everyone who loves matcha 128154127861 I am looking forward to try their wonuts and their best-seller waffle sundaes next time :)

This has been a long time coming. At last i've taken a big gaping bite into the sizzling matcha my friends have been talking about. This one's a dream. Matcha blondie topped with matcha ice cream on a hot skillet. This is served with a side of what seems like matcha condensed milk(?) that you pour immediately over the hot skillet. And what a sight to behold seeing matcha sizzle on matcha! If only i could attach the video i took of all that green sizzling goodness in action! Taste-wise it had the right strength and balance of matcha flavor without becoming too overpowering. Yes, even with all matcha everything.

The cookie skillet was a notch lower for me. But only because the chocolate chip cookie could have been more like an actual doughy cookie with real melted chocolate chips, than a blondie with chocolate marbling. The saving grace was the ice cream flavors we chose to top it with - cookie dough and malted milk! I mean cmon, you could never go wrong with those flavors, especially from FIC. 128521

We were in ATC a couple of weekends ago and coming from the Metro Supermarket, I usually drop by Mochiko for some good ice cream fix. Unfortunately, Mochiko Cafe is no longer there and has been replaced by Milkbox.

I have been seeing mixed reviews about this place and was somewhat hesitant to try it but the pictures got me. To kill the curiosity, I went and tried one of their waffle creations. Tres leches is their best seller but I didn't join the bandwagon. Instead, I opted to get Dark Chocolate Waffle Sundae with two scoops of ice cream. The menu recommends chocolate, green tea or red velvet as ice cream flavors. I checked the other options and decided to get Green Tea Matcha and Cereal & Milk. FIC is their ice cream partner which is just logical because this cafe is owned by the same minds behind Mochiko which also uses FIC.

It took a while before they were able to serve our order but that was fine because when it came, it was so beautifully plated. To say that it's "NICE" is an understatement. It was gorgeous! Two thick waffles on top of each other topped with two hefty scoops of ice cream, drizzled generously with chocolate and strawberry syrups, topped with roasted marshmallows and chocolate chips and garnished with flower petals. Yes! Edible and colorful petals. Very IG worthy, very gorgeous. I wish I left it at that because once I took a bite, all it's beauty went to the drain.

Let me explain. The waffles were too dry and not a bit chocolaty. They tasted bland. They weren't even crunchy outside. They were firm outside, soft inside but they had a bread like consistency. They weren't fluffy or anything near waffles from Pancake House or IHOP. You can stuff yourself with the ice cream as you try to convince yourself that the waffles are good but nada. The Green Tea ice cream was good but the Cereal and Milk was a let down. It tasted just like plain Vanilla ice cream with soggy bits of cereals. The texture was smooth but it wasn't as thick and creamy.

Mind you, hubby and I shared this order but we didn't even finish it. We only finished one waffle and all the ice cream. It was such a disappointment. I wish I just ordered 2 scoops of ice cream from them. Not quite sure if I'll give them another try. Totally not worth the money we spent.

Three stars for the plating and the ice cream.

It's been a while since I found a good waffle and ice cream dessert place. Really loved the tres leches dessert and their ice cream has the right amount of creaminess and consistency. No after taste too. The waffle had good flavor but I prefer it if it was a bit crunchier, though the softness and density of their waffle gave it some uniqueness and experience. Can't wait to try some of the other flavors soon!!

I like you a waffle lot 128527

Hello looloo! I just can't contain my excitement to tell you about my experience in this restaurant.10084

I first saw this in spot.ph as a new dessert place in town and wanted to try it immediately but I was late for a couple of months haha

I immediately wanted to try the Tres Leches Waffles. So without any second thoughts, I ordered it right away. Being the dessert person that I am, i know that I would be able to finish this on my own. I saw them prepare the orders of those who came before us. Those were two big-ass waffles and 2 or 3 big-ass scoops of ice cream as well. So we just decided to share. Haha.

I have no idea on what kind of milk are on those waffles but they serve a separate bottle of milk for you to pour it in the waffle.(hence, the photo128514) The waffles had different textures and flavors in them (sweet, salty, creamy, crispy, blended all together). Best choice for the ice cream would be cereal milk and malted milk? Haha. I'm planning to go back for their shakes next time. 128512

Attention waffle lovers, this is the place for you! You can set aside all others from your must-try list because Milk Box has a whole menu for waffles, sweet and savory.

Dinner was the intention and a load of sweets since Kunie G. needed to carbo load for her run the next day. They ran out of the chicken and waffle sandwich so we decided to grab a bite elsewhere and come back for dessert. Since there wasn't anything good around either, we almost immediately came back.

Decided to order the following to share:

Bacon Jam and cream cheese waffle sandwich, which is a best-seller. It comes with a side salad. I liked the flavor of the bacon and the cream cheese inside the warm waffle. I felt that the waffle was a little bit crumbly but I ate my share and liked it enough. I set aside the salad and the crunchier looking waffle for Kunie. She said it wasn't as crunchy and toasted as she liked it.

Cereal Milk Cwazy shake (in photo and not shared). If you are a sweet tooth and have no issues with easy aggravation of throats and tonsils, then this is for you. The indulgent shake will take you places. There are milky flavors and smooth textures of the whipped cream and of the shake itself coupled with biscuit sticks and a waffle that are very enticing. I enjoyed the textures but I found this too sweet, every time I'd get a snag of cereal, I would cringe at its sweetness. I still finished it allowing Kunie a spoonful to taste. She didn't want any. :)

The other sweet item was a Salted Caramel and Mango Wonut. This is very photo-worthy because it had flower petals and walnuts (or was it pecans) as garnish. Trust me to screw up a photo-worthy item so I'm not going to use that. The combination of the Salted caramel and mango was exquisite! It was perfect! The mango was sweet enough and complemented the Salted caramel. Although after that Cwazy shake, I only took a bite or two. I think this is best shared and taken without any other sweet item.

I'm not going back soon but that fried chicken and waffle sandwich still intrigues me.

Amazing craftsmanship... just look at those intricate chocolate and caramel expertly drizzled around the plate. Doesn't hurt that the desserts are also awesome! Loved my matcha and dark chocolate wonut (waffle donut) ;)

Tucked away at the ground floor of Alabang Town Center, you'd find this hidden gem. It's a dessert place specializing in wafflessss! (pancake's more interesting cousin haha)

The place looks downright adorable - bright lights, white brick walls, mint green chairs and a big comfy couch. However, it's quite small with only a few tables both inside and outside the establishment.

I talked to the servers at the counter and they were nice and helpful, giving me suggestions on what to order. On the menu, they offer waffle sundaes (waffles topped with ice cream), wonuts (waffle-donut hybrids that are fried to make them crispier and then jazzed up with toppings and cream), waffle sandwiches (savory offerings with a hint of sweetness), specialty coffee (by Yardstick!), ice cream (by FIC!) and their Cwazy Shakes (pimped-up milkshakes). Honestly, didn't think any were cheap though, with prices ranging from 210 to 385 php per item on the menu. However, decided to give them a shot.

Finally settled on one of their best-sellers - Tres Leches Waffle Sundae (275 php for two scoops of ice cream, 370 php for three). Serving time took quite a bit of time, since they make the waffles on the spot.

When it arrived though, it looked really pretty! Two scoops of ice cream (I picked Cereal Milk and Cookie Dough flavors) sat atop two fairly thick waffles and then sprinkled with crumbs and mint leaves (no flowers at the time since they were out of stock haha). The order also came with a bottle of mixed milk that you can pour over this creation, making it sweeter and way more indulgent. As the milk bath soaks into the waffles, you're left with each bite being soft, creamy and delicious, very reminiscent of a tres leches sponge cake. 128523

As the last milk and ice cream-soaked waffle bit was cleaned from our plate, I felt a sense of fulfillment haha. This plate was actually good for sharing btw. It was definitely a nice, heavy snack/dessert that tries hard (and kind of succeeds) in making you forget all those calories. Would like to try their Cwazy Shakes next time!

Wonuts (Waffle Donuts) - Salted Caramel and Mango Wonut.

I want to give everyone a heads up. If you're not a fan of whipped cream, don't bother ordering this one. My wonut was served with whipped cream (I actually thought it was an ice cream) and sour mango strips. Goodness! They could've at least used sweet mangoes.

The waffles were crispy and could have been better with ice cream (IMO). The per scoop of ice cream was worth 90 pesos [if I can remember it right] and left me with no choice, but to order another from their menu.

This is the FIC group's new concept dessert place replacing what used to be Mochiko. The focus is now on ice cream & waffles! They got waffle sundaes, wonuts (fried waffle ice cream sandwiches), savory waffle sandwiches, ice cream shakes, and coffee. The coffee is c/o the good people at Yardstick so thats definitely a plus. 128077

Would recommend the waffle sundaes and wonuts, especially the cereal milk waffle sundae (with 3 scoops of course!) and their matcha wonut. Wonuts are like upsized ice cream sandwiches but instead of a cookie, fried & crispy waffles are used to sandwich the ice cream in between. Suhweeeeeet!!!

The cwazy shakes are loaded and thick and sweet and really filling (without umay), exactly how i like my ice cream milkshakes to be. 9786 One thing they could do better is their savory waffle sandwiches. Looked really promising on paper: bacon, jam, & cream cheese... or potato chip crusted fried chicken?? Oh c'mon!! But sadly it didn't really work for me because I found the waffles neutralized the flavors and saltiness of the ingredients too much. I couldnt taste the saltiness of the bacon or the fried chicken or the sweetness of the jam and cream cheese. Plus I wish the potato chip crusted fried chicken fillet wasnt soggy.

Final verdict, a must try! As long as you come here for dessert or for a sweet merienda. Stay away from the sandwiches, at least for now. 9786

Mochiko Café has been replaced by MILKBOX and I was so giddy to try some of their desserts. It has been weeks and I need to put an end to this craving.

I asked the server what their best seller and she suggested Waffles and Wonuts (Waffle Donuts). I chose Salted Caramel and Mango Wonut first. It was a fried and crispy waffle with mango, cream, creamy caramel and nuts on top. The crispy waffles were just okay, but the sour sliced mango did not go with the dessert. After 2 forkfuls, I gave up. I asked the server to clean my table and asked for their menu.

I can’t leave this place unsatisfied. I just can’t. I’ve been craving to try this place for weeks and I can’t accept the fact that their desserts were just like that. So I ordered another “Best-Seller” as per their server and it’s Tres Leches Waffle Sundae. Waffles soaked in milk bath with 2 or 3 scoops of ice cream of your choice, cereal milk, malted milk and cookie dough. Interesting!

I poured the sweet milk bath to my homemade waffles and let them soak for a moment. I enjoyed scooping waffles together with the ice cream – I chose Cookie Dough and Strawberry ice cream. This one is way better and good for sharing.

By the way, their place inside was warm. Not sure if they have working A/C, lol. Better if you’ll just sit outside and leave the couches if you’re a sweaty person. 128518
